Snake Eyes and Black Widow

This is a story of Snake Eyes (GI-Joe) being a operative in the fantastic world of the MCU. Of course, as this is introducing a character from an entirely different universe this story will be an AU. Without further ado, please take a dive through the eyes of Snake. Disclaimer all rights and permissions stay with the original writers and creators. This fan-fic is just to take a spin on what it would be like to have one of my favorite characters in the MCU.

Chapter 40: A Dangerous Game

The weight of Natasha's realization pressed down on the room like a suffocating blanket. She stared at the terminal, the encrypted files still blinking on the screen, her mind racing to piece together what they had uncovered. The deployment of enhanced soldiers was no longer a looming threat—it was already in motion, and worse, they had no idea where these soldiers were being sent.

Snake Eyes remained still beside her, his presence a steady anchor in the storm of information swirling around them. He hadn't moved, but Natasha could sense the shift in his posture—the readiness, the quiet understanding that their mission had just taken on a far more dangerous turn.

"We need to act fast," Natasha said, her voice low and urgent. She tapped into the files, trying to pull up any clue that might give them a location. But the data was heavily encrypted, and the facility's systems were in lockdown mode. They didn't have the luxury of time.

She hit her comms. "Fury, we've got a serious problem. The enhanced soldiers—they've already been deployed. We need to track their locations now, or we'll lose them."

There was a brief pause before Fury's voice came through, as steady as always but with an edge of concern. "You're saying they're already in the field?"

"Yeah," Natasha confirmed. "And we're blind. The files we pulled are encrypted, but they contain details on the deployment. We just don't have the time to crack it here."

Fury's response was immediate. "Get that data back to the base. I'll have our best cryptologists work on it. If those soldiers are out there, we need to know where they're going—and we need to stop them."

Natasha's gaze flicked to Snake Eyes, who had already moved to the door, scanning the corridor for any signs of incoming reinforcements. They had managed to secure the control room, but the base was still alive with the sound of soldiers moving to defend their stronghold.

"Copy that," Natasha replied to Fury. "We're pulling out."

She disconnected the comms and moved quickly to secure the data on a portable drive. Snake Eyes was already in motion, signaling for her to follow as they made their way back through the base. The once silent corridors were now a flurry of activity—soldiers were scrambling to reinforce the base, unaware that their most valuable assets were now in the hands of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The rest of their team was waiting for them near the entrance to the tunnel, having secured their position as best they could. As Natasha and Snake Eyes regrouped with them, the team leader gave a brief nod.

"What's the call, Romanoff?" he asked, his voice low but tense.

"We're getting out of here," Natasha said, her tone decisive. "We've got the data, but the soldiers are already in play. We need to move fast."

Snake Eyes silently motioned toward the exit, and Natasha led the way. The facility's alarms were still blaring, and the distant sound of approaching reinforcements echoed through the tunnel. They didn't have much time.

The team moved swiftly through the tunnels, their movements synchronized and efficient as they made their way back to the extraction point. The air was thick with tension, and Natasha could feel the weight of the mission pressing down on them. Every second that passed was a second they didn't have.

As they reached the tunnel's entrance, the cold mountain air hit them, and Natasha scanned the horizon. The S.H.I.E.L.D. extraction helicopter was already approaching, its dark silhouette barely visible against the dim morning sky.

Snake Eyes was the first to spot movement near the treeline, his sharp instincts catching sight of a small patrol of enemy guards making their way toward the tunnel entrance. He signaled to Natasha, who gave a quick hand motion to the team.

They couldn't afford a drawn-out fight. Not now.

Snake Eyes moved like a shadow, slipping through the trees and closing the distance between himself and the patrol. Within seconds, he had disarmed and incapacitated the guards without a sound. Natasha followed close behind, covering him as they secured the area.

The helicopter touched down just as they finished, its rotors kicking up dust and debris as the team quickly boarded. Natasha and Snake Eyes were the last to climb in, the adrenaline still surging through their veins as the helicopter lifted off the ground.

As they ascended into the sky, Natasha felt the tension in her shoulders ease slightly. They had the data, but the hard part was still ahead. They needed to decrypt the files and figure out where those enhanced soldiers had been deployed. And they needed to do it fast.

Fury's voice came through her comms once again. "Romanoff, we've got a decryption team waiting for you back at base. As soon as you land, we'll get to work."

"Understood," Natasha replied, her gaze fixed on the horizon. "We'll be there soon."

Back at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, the atmosphere was electric with urgency. Agents moved swiftly through the command center, gathering around the decryption terminals as Natasha and Snake Eyes entered the room. Fury was already there, standing at the head of the table, his eyes locked on the screens as the tech team worked furiously to crack the encrypted files.

"Romanoff," Fury said as they approached. "I don't need to tell you how bad this could get if we don't figure out where those soldiers are going."

Natasha nodded. "We're doing everything we can. Do we have any preliminary data?"

One of the analysts turned toward them, her expression grim. "We've managed to decrypt part of the file. It's a list of potential targets—key infrastructure, high-profile political figures, and military installations. Whoever deployed these soldiers is planning something big, and they've got the resources to do it."

Fury's brow furrowed as he considered the implications. "We need to narrow this down. We don't have the manpower to cover every target on that list."

The analyst quickly resumed her work, fingers flying over the keyboard as she pulled up more of the data. "We're close to cracking the rest of the encryption. If we can pinpoint the exact locations, we can send teams to intercept."

Natasha's mind raced as she considered the possibilities. The list of targets was global—whoever was behind this was playing a dangerous game, one that could destabilize entire regions if left unchecked. And they were running out of time.

Beside her, Snake Eyes remained silent, his eyes fixed on the screens as the data continued to unfold. Natasha could feel the same tension in him that she was feeling—the understanding that this mission had just escalated in a way they hadn't anticipated.

Minutes passed like hours as the decryption continued, and finally, the lead analyst turned to them, her face pale. "We've got it."

The room fell silent as she pulled up the decrypted files on the main screen. A map of the world appeared, marked with several red dots indicating the deployment sites of the enhanced soldiers. Natasha's heart sank as she realized the scale of the operation.

The soldiers had been sent to multiple locations across the globe—strategic points in Europe, Asia, and North America. Each site represented a critical point of attack, and if the soldiers were activated, it could lead to widespread chaos.

Fury's voice broke the silence. "We need to move on this now. I'll mobilize teams to intercept at each of these locations."

Natasha nodded, her mind already working through the logistics. "We'll need to coordinate with local forces. These soldiers are heavily enhanced, and if they go live, it's going to take everything we have to stop them."

Snake Eyes tapped one of the red dots on the map—one of the most remote locations in Eastern Europe. Natasha followed his gaze and understood immediately. It was the deployment site closest to their last mission, and it was likely one of the first places where the enhanced soldiers would be activated.

"We start there," Natasha said, her voice firm. "We take down that deployment, and we move fast. If we can stop them before they reach their targets, we might have a chance."

Fury gave a sharp nod. "I'll brief the teams. You and Snake Eyes are on point for this. Take them down."

As the room buzzed with activity, Natasha turned to Snake Eyes, her eyes meeting his. There was no need for words—they both knew what was at stake.

The enemy had made their move, and now it was time to respond.
