Snake Eyes and Black Widow

This is a story of Snake Eyes (GI-Joe) being a operative in the fantastic world of the MCU. Of course, as this is introducing a character from an entirely different universe this story will be an AU. Without further ado, please take a dive through the eyes of Snake. Disclaimer all rights and permissions stay with the original writers and creators. This fan-fic is just to take a spin on what it would be like to have one of my favorite characters in the MCU.

Chapter 39: Into the Unknown

The S.H.I.E.L.D. jet cut through the early morning skies, the vast mountain ranges of Eastern Europe stretching out below like a jagged tapestry. Natasha sat in the cockpit, her mind focused on the mission ahead. The encrypted data they had recovered from the previous facility had pointed to several remote locations, but this one—the one Snake Eyes had singled out—was different. Isolated, with minimal satellite coverage, it was the perfect place for someone to hide something important.

Beside her, Snake Eyes remained still, his gaze locked on the terrain below. His silence wasn't unusual, but Natasha could sense the intensity in his focus. He had a way of knowing when something big was coming, and she trusted his instincts implicitly.

As the jet descended, Natasha checked her comms, connecting with the rest of the team on board. They were running a skeleton crew for this op—small, nimble, and focused. The objective was simple: infiltrate the remote base, gather intel on the new players emerging in the wake of the Overseer's fall, and, if necessary, neutralize the threat.

Fury's voice crackled through her earpiece. "Romanoff, you're about five minutes out. This place is off the grid, so we're going in blind. Stay sharp."

"Copy that," Natasha replied, her voice steady.

The jet hovered just above the tree line, its stealth capabilities masking their approach as they prepared to drop. Natasha stood and signaled to Snake Eyes and the rest of the team. They moved in unison, their movements quiet and efficient as they readied themselves for the descent.

Within moments, they were on the ground, the thick forest canopy above them casting long shadows over the rugged terrain. Natasha crouched low, scanning the surroundings for any sign of movement. The base wasn't far, but they'd have to get closer on foot. The thick trees and rough landscape provided natural cover, but it also meant they'd have to be extra vigilant.

Snake Eyes was already moving ahead, his form blending into the shadows as if he were part of the forest itself. Natasha followed closely, her senses heightened as they made their way toward the base.

The team moved silently, advancing through the dense woods with practiced precision. The air was cold and still, the only sounds coming from the occasional rustle of leaves or the distant call of birds. They hadn't encountered any guards yet, but Natasha knew that didn't mean they weren't being watched.

After several minutes of silent movement, Snake Eyes stopped abruptly, raising a hand to signal the team to halt. Natasha froze, her eyes darting around the area. Something had caught his attention, and she trusted his instincts.

Snake Eyes pointed toward a small clearing up ahead, where a faint glint of metal could be seen through the trees. It was subtle, but there—camouflaged among the rocks and foliage—was a series of surveillance devices. Whoever was running this base was monitoring the perimeter carefully, and they had taken steps to keep it hidden.

Natasha moved closer to Snake Eyes, her voice barely a whisper. "They've got eyes on us."

Snake Eyes nodded, his hand reaching for the small EMP device attached to his belt. With a quick flick of his wrist, he tossed the device toward the hidden cameras. There was a brief pulse of energy, and the faint glow of the surveillance feed blinked out.

"We're clear," Natasha said into her comms, signaling the rest of the team to move forward.

They advanced quickly, crossing the final stretch of forest until the base came into view. It was larger than Natasha had anticipated—an underground complex built into the side of the mountain, with only a small portion of it visible above ground. There were guards patrolling the perimeter, but their movements were relaxed, as if they didn't expect anyone to find them out here.

Natasha crouched behind a tree, surveying the base with Snake Eyes at her side. "This place is too well-hidden to be just another hub. It's important."

Snake Eyes gestured toward one of the entrances—an old service tunnel carved into the rock face. It wasn't heavily guarded, likely used only for maintenance or supply deliveries. It was their best way in.

"Let's move," Natasha whispered, signaling the team to follow.

They slipped through the trees, making their way toward the service tunnel with practiced ease. The guards remained unaware of their presence, and within minutes, Natasha and Snake Eyes were at the entrance. The door was sealed with a simple keypad lock, and Natasha quickly went to work bypassing it.

As the door clicked open, the team moved inside, their footsteps barely audible against the cold concrete floor. The tunnel was dark and narrow, leading deeper into the mountain. Natasha could feel the weight of the earth pressing down on them, but she pushed the feeling aside, focusing on the task at hand.

They moved deeper into the tunnel, the air growing colder and more stale as they descended. The tunnel eventually opened up into a large underground chamber, filled with rows of computer terminals, weapons caches, and crates of equipment. It was clear now—this wasn't just a base. It was a command center.

Natasha motioned for the team to spread out, scanning the room for anything of value. Snake Eyes remained close, his eyes scanning every corner of the chamber for potential threats.

"This is bigger than we thought," Natasha whispered into her comms, her eyes narrowing as she examined one of the terminals. "They've been stockpiling resources for weeks, maybe months. This isn't just a rogue faction. This is organized."

Snake Eyes gestured toward a stack of crates at the far end of the chamber. Natasha followed his gaze, her heart sinking as she saw what was inside—more enhanced suits, similar to the ones they had encountered at the previous hubs. Whoever was behind this had picked up where the Overseer had left off, and they were preparing to deploy these soldiers on a massive scale.

"Fury, we've got a problem," Natasha said, her voice tight. "They're building an army down here. We need backup."

Before Fury could respond, the room was flooded with bright lights. Natasha's hand instinctively went to her weapon as the team scattered, taking cover behind crates and terminals. The sound of heavy footsteps echoed from the tunnel behind them, and Natasha realized they had triggered an alarm.

The guards had been alerted.

Snake Eyes moved instantly, his body a blur as he took out the first wave of enemies with swift, silent precision. Natasha covered him, her gun trained on the advancing guards as they stormed into the chamber.

"Hold them off," Natasha ordered, her voice calm but urgent. "We can't let them call for reinforcements."

The team engaged the guards, the room erupting into chaos as gunfire and the clashing of blades filled the air. Snake Eyes moved through the fray like a shadow, his katana cutting through the enemy with lethal accuracy. Natasha fired off shots with pinpoint precision, her mind racing as she considered their next move.

They were outnumbered, but not outmatched.

"We need to get to the main control room," Natasha called out over the sound of the fight. "If we can disable their communications, we can stop them from sending out a distress signal."

Snake Eyes nodded, already moving toward the far end of the chamber where a set of stairs led to the control room above. Natasha followed, covering him as they made their way up the stairs, taking out guards as they went.

As they reached the top, Natasha kicked open the door to the control room, her weapon raised. The room was empty, save for a few blinking terminals and a large central console. She quickly moved to the console, her fingers flying over the controls as she began to disable the communications systems.

"We've got control of the room," Natasha said into her comms. "I'm shutting down their systems now."

Snake Eyes stood guard by the door, his eyes scanning the hallway for any sign of reinforcements. Natasha worked quickly, her mind focused on the task at hand.

But as the last system was disabled, something caught her eye—a series of encrypted files, hidden deep within the base's database. She quickly accessed them, her heart racing as the data began to unfold before her.

The files contained plans for a new type of enhanced soldier—far more advanced than anything they had encountered before. And worse, the deployment of these soldiers was imminent.

"We're too late," Natasha whispered, her voice barely audible.

Snake Eyes turned, his gaze questioning.

"They've already begun deploying these soldiers," Natasha said, her voice filled with a grim realization. "And we have no idea where they're being sent."

The room fell into a tense silence, the weight of their discovery settling over them.

The enemy had already moved, and now the game had changed.
