Slaughterer's Ode To The Blade

A world of turmoil. This is the world of the great swordsmen. As the countries cross their blades to show their dominance in power, Their need for resources, Their want for more land, And the taste of freedom, The common people suffer. As they get swept by the war, their loved ones died, Their homes destroyed and their wills crushed by the reality that they can never avenge their suffering as long as they are the weakest, so long as they are kind and so long as they do not have the courage to stand up against their own fate! Noya Eiji is born in such a world. As a war orphan, he is picked up by one of the kindoms and is wondering over life on what to do and what to be, trying to survive day by day not wanting to be part of any of the conflicts between kingdoms, Because he still remembers what his mother's last words were " Be good boy who survives rather than become strong and be drowned by pain, suffering and darkness of the world!" ---- AN : This novel's MC is more on the passive side and while the MC is a bit OP, he wont be OP to the point of just destroying anybody, you might find the story to be boring so it totally fine to not like it, Although I hope otherwise. And also this image is not mine, I saw it on google, its from SOFAN COMICS in Pinterest.

Chapter 34 Seventh Round Start!

"Eiji! Eiji!"

"Ugh??!!"

When morning came, Lime saw that Eiji slept in the chair in an awkward position, she was afraid that he would get some sort of discomfort if this continued and woke him up.

She was happy that he stayed by her side, but she was also afraid that he wont be able to perform in the tournament in his best conditions.

When Eiji woke up, there was still a few hours before the tournament starts, so he ate some breakfast in the hospital with Lime.

Then, to get his body started running, he did some exercises.

After some light exercises, he went back to the hospital and ate a small snack, then he went to the stadium after saying good bye to Lime.

Eiji arrived at the stadium just in time the matches started.

Today, the seventh and Eight would be herld.

There are only 16 participants left.

That means after this round, it would be the quarter finals, the top 8.

This was Eiji's goal. Well, Originally that is.

For him being at the top eight would have been enough, as this was what his master told him.

But now, Eiji had another goal, go through the matches until he fights against Herald Zenith!

Eiji doesn't know if he can defeat him while holding back, he doesn't even know what to do when he does get matched against him, for now, what Eiji was thinking was to fight until he meets Herald!

Eiji found Newark at the waiting area and the both of them sat together.

Newark told him that Renji was also here at the audience.

The both of them chatted until the teacher announced the start of the match.

"First Match! --"

Then the matches were also announced and the crowd was cheering as the fights went on.

Eiji and Newark watched and waited for their matches.

Newark was anticipating in being matched against Huna Sean, but he knew that he could only wait.

While Eiji was just there beside him silently watching the matches, and it even looks like he wasn't even concentrating on the fights itself but was thinking in his own world.

Newark glanced at him but didn't say anything, Eiji was always been a silent person, and from what happened to Lime yesterday, he understood that Eiji had a lot to think about.

In reality, Eiji wasn't thinking anything in particular, he knew what he has to do, and could only do the things he has to do when he actually fights, thinking too much about it would've made his head overload, so there was nothing to think too much!

"Next Match!

Noya Eiji VS Ignis Kuryo!!"

"?"

Newark interest was piqued when he heard the next match up.

Kuryo was his cousin, he was the second som of the current clan head of the Ignis Clan.

Kuryo was a lot better in fighting than Newark, he was at the first section of the batch.

Even Newark knew that he won't win against Kuryo if he doesn't get desperate, and even if he does, it wasn't guaranteed!

Now he wants to see what Eiji will do against someone that fights like him but was much stronger.

Eiji went to the arena.

Opposite of him, Ignis Kuryo was standing. He had a very sharp look that compliments the red hair of their clan. With a tall and strong body, Kuryo looked like he could crush Eiji in one swing.

"Bow! Ready..... Fight!"

*Swoooshh!!!

As if expecting Eiji's Quick Draw technique, Kuryo dash first to intercept Eiji, and attack first!

*Bang!

He couldn't entirely stop Eiji's technique, although he managed to use his wooden katana to deflect the attack, the speed made it so he was a second late and was hit in his chest.

Kuryo backed up a bit. He paused then said.

"I saw all your matches, I know you are strong, but still, It seems I can't defeat you unless I go all out!"

"..."

Eiji didn't say anything towards Kuryo.

*Baaanngg!!

As Eiji stood there watching Kuryo, Kuryo's ki suddenly erupted, while his hair was raising upwards as his eyes and hands were set aflame!

Bursts of sparks would erupt in the air, making him look like a fire demon.

Eiji looked at him and knew that he had activated his clan's blood sword power, Flame Demon!

*End Of Chapter.
