Traitors among us

Danzo always prided himself as the shadow of the hidden leaf Village. He may not have the title of the kage, but he has done uncountable dispicable things for the sake of hidden leaf village. But he didn't like the current situation at all. It all started after Uchiha massacre . In his joy of getting so many Sharingans, he has dismissed another civilian orphan. He still regreted not taking Minato under him while he was young. In future, he not only became Hokage but also married the Jinjuriki. And now it seems the history is repeating itself. Hugarashi Tenten. The girl is a prodigy, when it comes to fuinjutsu. Not to mention her closeness to the Uzumaki brat ! She even created her own space time jutsu from scratch. The jutsu might seem improvement of substitution at first glance, but he knew better. It is something similar to hirashin. Even more versatile with right mind. And he had lost her. With root officially disbanneded, he has lost some power. And in that chance, Hiruzen has given the girl to Might Guy. The most eccentric shinobi. Currently the only person , from whom he can't snatch the girl. The girl has grown in a short period of time. And as more time passed, the more he lost. The girl has grown very close to the Uzumaki brat. But one day he got a report. Tenten has brought a rouge iwa nin. A nin who had dealings with some Kumo spies. But that time too, Hiruzen had won. But the good thing is Hiruzen is a fool. He has sent Tenten Hugarashi and a group of three chunins to escort the prisoners. He smiled at his good luck.

"Torune !"

"..." A masked ninja bowed infront of him.

"I want them dead and bring me the Hugarashi girl. Take twenty root members with you. And do it before they reach the border ."

"..." With a bow the ninja left.

I had a very bad feeling about this mission. So I prepared everything I could. My teammates, Hyuga Todo, Aburame kiji and Yamanaka Momo. All of them are about 16-17 years. Older than me. So commanding them was not easy. For precaution though, I have marked all of them, including the prisoners.

"Momo, you are a sensor, right ?" I asked the blondie boy.

"Yes."

"How long can you keep up the technique, and what's your range?" I asked him again. Thankfully they all acted professional.

"My range is about 500 metres. And I need to concentrate for my technique to work perfectly." He answered.

"Alright, lets move out."

After running for ten miles, we took a brake. At that moment I decided to act with my special chakra coated smoke bomb I disoriented the team and quickly sealed away the prisoners in my special scroll while replacing them with my transformed shadow clones. After that it took a bit of acting. It convinced them that I have accidentally dropped the smoke bomb. Then after that it was smooth tree hopping. Or that's what I believed.

Torune was leading a platoon of twenty shinobi. The mission was fairly simple. But at the same time it was not. The mission seemed simple, because of it's objective. And it was not, because who were they going against. Hugarashi Tenten can escape whenever she wants. And that's the tricky part. He has to kill the two prisoners with one strike. If it failed, they might escape. And getting the girl was a secondary objective. So he will first kill the two prisoners. With determination, he led the platoon. When they stopped for the third time, Torune signalled them. And all of them spread out. He released his special bugs in the air . And waited for the right movement. When Hugarashi was at maximum distance, he signalled. They started the attack with paper bombs creating distraction. With a sunshin, he reached near the prisoners. And just as he touched them, the vanished, replaced by two kunais. Sure enough, Hugarashi didn't disappoint them. She was quick. But not enough. As his parasitic bugs will achieve his first mission, he must go for the second priority now. He doesn't want to kill one of the best tracker teams in konoha. But Danzo sama's order were absolute. They have escaped to some distance. With the signal all the root agents surrounded them.

Tenten was at front while the team was in diamond formation with the two prisoners in the middle. But after that, started the blood bath. Suddenly Todo attacked Tenten with a kunai aiming at her neck. But before Torune can understand the situation blood splattered. But it was not Tenten's. It was one of his subordinates. After that sudden scream and sound of tearing flesh. Within one and half minutes, he was the only one alive. Suddenly his instincts screamed and he tried to dodge. But the flying naginata burned through his left arm. And before he could understand anything, he was paralysed.

As the clones poofed away, I heard Momo speaking.

"I don't know why ninja from our own village will attack us, but if not for you, we would have probably annihilated."

"Hmm..." I hummed in agreement.

"Now I know why they chose you as the team leader." Momo continued.

"We should get going. The sooner we complete the mission, the better." Todo said looking at me. And I hummed in agreement.

After that the mission went smoothly. Darui,. Raikage's right hand man was there to exchange prisoners. After confirming the money and the promise letter from raikage with the stamp of lightning daimyo, We returned to leaf.

"I have removed the seal on his tongue Hokage sama. But..."

Looking at me Hokage sighed. "You don't have to worry about it anymore Tenten chan. I will handle it from now on. And here-" he handed me over a Jonin vest. "-from now on you are a Tokubotsu Jonin of hidden leaf village."
