Even 'Residents' had always wondered why the monsters close to the spawn point were weak. But they couldn't help but leave out a sigh of relief for it.

It was how a [Level 1] player is only subjected to weak monsters at the start of the game. So that he could grow in strength and fight the stronger monsters.

But why did Satan do something like this? That was probably a mystery. But there would probably not be much point in killing off people when he was going to such lengths to summon them.

This grinding process was what came to be known as a 'newbie drill'. Later on 'Residents' came along and helped the newbies to reduce the mortality rate.

While at the surface it just seemed like the experienced giving out a helping hand to the uninitiated. But they had ulterior motives for the same.
