Chapter 7: Research Time!

[Time Skip, 3 years later, Kaede POV]

It's been 3 years now since that incident, I can still remember it clearly. The reason I said my Onii-chan's name was because I don't want to choose which parents were my favorite simply because I love them both equally!

However, since that day, when I was spending time with my Onii-chan he always wanted me to call his name. That day also caused his Big Brother Aura to go full blast for 2 years straight.

In the past, Itachi-onii-chan usually tries to hide it because he thought it was a bit embarrassing. I mean, I don't really hate it because he always looks so happy when he's spending time with me.

Now I'm 4 years old, I can say some simple sentences but words with long syllables was still too difficult for me. I also got my own room now, at the moment, I only got a pink bed, a decently sized desk, and a wardrobe. I didn't ask for anything else since I don't require much.

I told my parents that I like to gain things with my own hard work, and hearing this, my parents were very proud of me. But, occasionally they still ask whether I wanted something.

Currently, I was sitting in front of the TV watching a show about heroes. If you're close enough you can sense the enthusiasm and excitement oozing out of my body. When I first started watching TV, I saw something that shocked me to my core. I saw news recording of my Onii-chan fighting criminals and rescuing people!

In the past, I asked what is his job and he always changes the topic every time I asked. I can sense that he doesn't feel comfortable talking about it so I usually just accept that I will figure it out myself in the future, however, sometimes my childish curiosity can't resist.

When I saw him on the large screen I quickly ran upstairs and dragged him out of the room, I pointed at the living room TV and yelled in excitement: "Look Onii-chan look! You're on TV!" I looked at him and my eyes were sparkling like stars.

Seeing this, onii-chan's lips twitched for a second, he then smiled stiffly and said: "Yeah, I am."

"Wow Onii-chan, you're a hero, that's so cool! I want to be a hero like you when I grow up as well!!"

Hearing my declaration, Itachi Onii-chan frowned. he then said: "Are you sure?"

When I saw onii-chan's frown, I asked in a sad tone: "So I can't?"

When he realized noticed my shift in mood, he quickly said: "No No, of course, you can be a hero."

"Really?" I asked.

He nodded, "Yay I love you Oii-chan!" I said while hugging him.

[Itachi's POV]

I become saddened knowing that my cute little Kaede wanted to be a hero. Kaede was always a smart child, so when I heard her declaration, I doubt that she was just messing around. Being a hero wasn't all bright and full of stars. Many people's expectation and dreams were shattered because of it and I don't wish Kaede to suffer through that aswell. I planned to ask her again once her quirk awaken before finally deciding how I should deal with this.

[Kaede POV]

After that, Itachi-onii-chan didn't want to talk about hero things with me and I sensed that he felt uncomfortable talking about it. I got scared that day he won't love me as much anymore but Itachi-onii-chan reassured me that he will love me no matter what.

Later on, I finally gained permission on using the family computer in the living room. Out of curiosity, I first searched about my parent's families. My dad was a famous and respectful detective that has solved many cases in japan and my mom was a well-known surgeon that has saved many lives, even heroes'!

I also searched about their quirk, I found out that on my father's side, their family has the power of Sharingan. It helps them insepct things in more detail, remember information just by looking at it once, and hypnotism! Their quirk was very powerful for police work as it can find clues that normal people can't find and they can easily retrieve information from criminals!

'Sugoi!' I screamed in my head.

On my mother's side, their family has the ability of chakra. It was said that my mother's family came from a long line of heroes. According to the information found online, their family was pretty famous too.

From reading the information online, each person in the family has different chakra elements, after reading more information, I realised that it's just like Naruto, there are five basic chakra elements and that each member of my family can manipulate one of the five elements: Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Lightning.

Mom has a water element chakra, and she has very advanced chakra control, in the past, she was also a hero, but after marrying dad she retired and started pursuing a medical career. Her abilities were very essential in the medical world as medical ninjutsu needed very good chakra control.

For my brother. Turns out he's the 3rd strongest hero in Japan, his hero name was Red Crow which I thought was very cool! People also think of him as a child prodigy since he was very smart and he became a hero at the age of seventeen!

He's only twenty two right now! He unlocked two quirks, he got the Sharingan and Chakra with the fire element. Knowing this, my admiration for him grows even more!

"Wow, my mom, dad, and Onii-chan are all so cool, I promise I will be as awesome as them as well!" I muttered with determination.

"I can't wait for the day that my quirk awakens!"
