Chapter 109 Victory at last!

[Kaede POV]

I looked at the corpse of AFO in silence. I sheathed my blade and clasped my hand together to leave a quiet prayer for all the vestiges that AFO have stolen. I walked back to Shoto and Midoriya while deep in thought. What AFO has done disturbed me as I don't know what I should feel?

I saw Shoto in the distance and approached him, without saying anything, I hugged him tightly. He was surprised by my action and smiled: "You okay?" Shoto asked.

I nodded while burying my head in his chest. I sighed: Thanks Shoto-kun, I'm much better now..."

Shoto smiled and rubbed my head affectionately. Suddenly, the whole mind space trembled as if there was a major earthquake.

"What's happening!" He asked.

"AFO's dead, there's no one keeping this place together and everything is breaking down!" I yelped.

"How's Midoriya?!" I asked and glanced at the dazed green-haired boy.

Shoto: "He's still within Tomura's head, I think he's having trouble."

"I see..." I muttered and a black receiver rod appeared in my hand, "We have to go and get him."

"Wouldn't waking him up be better?" Shoto questioned.

"I don't think it's safe forcibly pulling him out, time should slow down even further while we're in there." I explained, "But I'm slightly worried about what's taking him so long...."

I plunged the receiver rod into Tomura's chest and grabbed Shoto's hand, "Ready?" I asked and Shoto nodded as we entered Tomura's mind to rescue our friend.

[3rd POV]

Kaede and Shoto went into Tomura's minds as the two find themselves in a random peaceful suburb in Japan. Kaede looked at herself and she was shocked to find that she had become a young child again, specifically a five-year-old.

She glanced at Shoto and he have become younger as well as he frowned. Kaede clutched her head and winced: 'Wait what am I doing here again?' She thought.

Kaede's face was full of shock as she starts to lose her recent memories. Her Sharingan activated and she snapped out of the mind-wiping effect and exhaled with relief. Kaede quickly grabbed Shoto and cleaned him out of the effect as well.

"Thanks..." Shoto groaned as his memories returned.

Kaede nodded as the two observed each other. She was currently wearing a cute red coloured dress while Shoto was wearing simple shorts and a t-shirt: "Cute...." Shoto uttered subconsciously as he looked at Kaede.

Kaede blushed: "We have to focus Shoto-kun!"

"Right." Shoto cleared his throat, "What do we do?"

"Midoriya must have been affected by this strange phenomenon, we need to save him," Kaede announced, " Follow me Shoto-kun, I think I know where we are..."

Sure enough, Kaede realised they were currently in the old Musutafu but there wasn't a single person in sight.

[A/N: I don't think it was revealed where Tomura originally lives but let's just say it's Musutafu.]

Luckily their powers didn't disappear as Kaede flew around the city in her Susanoo: "There! Shoto yelled as he pointed at Midoriya who was wandering down the street.

Kaede landed the Susanno as they chased after him: "Midoriya!" They both yelled.

Midoriya turned around at the sound of his name and he saw two children running towards him: "Who are you guys?!"

Kaede ordered Shoto to pin Midoriya down as the green-haired boy starts to panic: "Let me go! Help Help!"

Midoriya thrashed around, trying to break free. A green aura covered his body and he used One For All out of instinct. Shoto was tossed around before successfully capturing the boy with his ice. Kaede grabbed Midoriya by the cheeks and forced him to look into her eyes as her Sharingan set him free.

Midoriya slumped as Shoto let go, "Owww..." he groaned, "Huh, Uchiha-San, Todoroki-San, what are you two doing here, wait why am I a child?"

Kaede and Shoto gave Midoriya a brief run down as his face paled: "Anyway, we need to get out of here!" Kaede urged as the two boys agreed.

However, Kaede tried to exit Tomura's mind but found that she couldn't. She used every method to bring everyone out but nothing works: "What do we do now?!" Midoriya yelped with a flustered tone.

Kaede clicked her teeth at the turn of events: "There might be one way..." Kaede said uncomfortably.

"What is it?" Shoto asked.

"This is Tomura's unconsciousness, right? We could go and find him." Kaede explained, the two agreed as they don't have any better idea as they explored the strange space.

10 minutes later...

At a playground in Mustutafu City, there was a child sitting on a swing, his face full of anxiety and loneliness. He has dark unkempt hair and grey eyes as he dangled on the swing set. The boy always wanted to be a hero, however, his father doesn't respect his choices and occasionally he will get beaten for it.

Sometimes he wished he would turn into a bird so he can fly far far away from here...

The boy clenched his fist as tears were threatening to escape his eyes: "Hey are you okay?"

The child looked up and saw three children about the same age as him. There were two boys and one girl.

"Are you okay?" She asked once more and her face full of concern.

He was hesitant from the sudden questioning but nodded anyways. The girl smiled: "I see, what's your name?" she asked.

The boy slightly blushed as he answered with a flustered tone "T..Tenko Shimura..."

[A/N: Tomura have a different name btw before sh*t hits the fan.]

"Hello Tenko-san, I'm Kaede Uchiha," She happily greeted herself.

"I...I'm Izuku Midoriya!"

"Shoto Todoroki."

The two boys followed along and greeted Tenko. Awkward filled the playground as the children don't know what to do next: "Um... Tenko-san, do you want to play with us? Kaede proposed.

Tenko's eyes widened with shock: "C...Can I?"

Kaede giggled: "Of course!"

Kaede took his hand and pulled Tenko off of the swing. The group ran to the middle of the playground and they played Hero Versus Villains for the entire afternoon. The children laughed, smiled and were lost in their own world.

"Wow, how are you so skilled?" Tenko praised as he watched Kaede easily avoid Shoto's lunge before whacking him in the back of the head with a long stick.

"Well I'm going to be a hero when I grow up, that's why I need to be strong!" Kaede announced with confidence.

Hearing this Tenko became silent and stared at the ground: "B...But what if your parents don't want you to be a hero?" He nervously asked.

Kaede paused and looked at the boy: " You should stand for what you believe in, even if they might not like it..." she answered.

"But they're your parents!" Tenko yelled with disbelief.

"Sometimes, we all have to make choices that people important to us may not approve of. However, if you have a dream it is yours to have. It is yours to build." Kaede said.

"But still...."

Kaede smiled wryly and patted Tenko on the shoulder: "Cheer up, there may also be a reason why your parents don't want you to be heroes right? So prove to them that you can."

Tenko raised his head and saw Kaede's gentle smile. His eyes shined before subconsciously nodding as if he found the answers to his problems.

"Come on, let's play!" Kaede said.

"Nn!" Tenko grinned and sprinted after her.

For the first time ever, Tenko forgot about all his worries at home and his anxiety disappeared. For the first time, he was at peace and the boy never wanted this day to end...

As the sun starts to set, the children finally stopped playing: "Today has been really fun Tenko-san!" Kaede chirped.

Tenko excitedly nodded, "Let's play tomorrow as well okay?" Kaede asked and she stared at him with anticipation.

Tenko was moved as he placed his hand on his chest. He felt warm as he couldn't remove the smile on his face: "Thank you...." Tenko uttered as his voice was full of emotion and a single tear dripped down his eyes.

His whole body begins to shine a bright light as he slowly evaporates into white particles. The last thing Kaede, Shoto and Izuku was his joyful smile as Tenko disappeared.

Kaede, Shoto and Izuku transformed back into their original form as they were silent, gazing at the spot where Tomura previously stood: "Are you okay?" Shoto asked as he held Kaede's hand.

Kaede nodded as she wiped the tears away. She felt the disconnection with Tomura, indicating that his soul has passed away. Kaede turned around to look at the two boys: "Let's go home."

The three safely exited Tomura's subconsciousness. They appeared back in the fused mind space as it rumbled and cracks started to form everywhere. Without any hesitation, Kaede instantly brought them out as the last thing they saw was the subconsciousness collapsing on itself.

Meanwhile...

Outside, the rest of the heroes were watching the situation with nervous expressions. As soon as Kaede stabbed AFO with the Black Reciever Rod, everything became quiet as AFO's body froze. Itachi stood next to the unconscious figure of AFO, Kaede, Shoto and Izuku, he couldn't help but feel worried.

Kaede has told him beforehand that if they haven't come out in the next five minutes, he should bring them out by transmitting his own chakra onto the Black Reciever Rod to interrupt Kaede's Chakra Flow. However, Itachi was reluctant to do this as Kaede wasn't sure what side effects will occur.

Three minutes have already passed as Itachi's anxiousness increased, he have complete faith in his sister but that still didn't calm the uneasiness in his heart. Suddenly, AFO's body started to wither as he seemed to be growing old at a rapid pace.

AFO collapsed as his body stopped breathing. Kaede, Midoriya and Shoto's eyes snapped open as they coughed loudly. A massive headache assaulted them and they groaned: "We.. we made it..." Kaede panted.

Itachi rushes to Kaede and hurriedly supported her: "What happened?!"

The other heroes also approached the trios with looks of concern. Kaede, Shoto and Midoriya looked at each other as they laughed. There was a big smile on each of their faces and the heroes were perplexed.

"Kaede?" Itachi uttered.

"We won.... we really won..." Kaede exclaimed with relief.

The other heroes were shocked as the news sank in. They chuckled with disbelief before celebrating with vigour as, after all, their anxiety and worries, the heroes emerged victorious...
