The Inevitable Destruction

"What in the world?"

"What's that light?"

The soldiers were already holding their breath when they saw William in defensive position. But when the light suddenly descended, they were all stunned speechless. Just a split second and no one was able to react.

It was simply too fast.

When the light disappeared, what they saw was the perfectly roasted Mutated Elephant right before their eyes. Some steam was even rising on top of the Mutated Elephant as if it was overcooked.

The soldiers were stunned.

Kelvin and the other two were speechless.

William was surprised.

He turned his head towards the city and looked past the ruined walls. Gloria was standing there, still partially hiding behind the large truck but her hand was extended. Her golden eyes were staring straight back at him. While he couldn't see it from this distance, he was sure that there must be some electricity flickering around her body.
