The Haunting hour: A Halloween Chapter

Over the next few weeks, Lena had settled in at school. The pain in the asses kept their distance. We would run into them again. Then you had Val and me. We had gotten closer, and no, I didn’t tell her about my past yet. I would, but not now.

Halloween was upon us, and Liam enlisted us to help with the haunted home. My parents explained Liam donates the money to a good cause. I was okay with it. Although, Val was more excited for the two of us.

I was bringing in a crate into the dwelling where we were setting up. Val jumped out at me with a hideous mask, causing me to drop the box. She pulled up the mask.

/"Oops./"

She started laughing. I chased her around the home until Dad ordered me back to work. I shook my head and picked up the carton. I didn’t realize what was happening with Val.

She stopped running and leaned on the wall, trying to catch her breath.
