Leah [1]

The morning sunlight spilled through the window unto an empty bed inside a majestically decorated room, everything was usually neatly arranged in this room but not today, today there were piles of clothes laying on the bed and more were being flung on it.

This was Leah's room and today, according to the rock, paper, scissors the played, she will be the first to go on a date with Ethan and much to her maids' dismay, they have been up since before sunrise and she still hasn't seen a dress she deemed suited for a date.

The maids serving her at the moment were not surprised seeing their usually calm and decisive mistress so... undecisive? This was not the first they've seen her like this, especially when it involves master Ethan. Considering their mistress' status as dragon royalty, she had rows and rows of suitors (some of which vanished for some strange reason… anyway) who were ready to go to any lengths for their mistress but in their mistress' own words 'Ethan was just strangely special and she felt it from the moment they met'. Talking about the moment they met…

-------------13 years ago-----------------

"Hurry up Leah" Leah's mom the dragon queen, Lilian called.

"Coming" Leah answered, by this time she had just turned five and for the first time she was going to the human kingdom with her mom to visit a friend who she used to go on adventures with.

"Remember honey, my friend doesn't know that I'm royalty okay" she said while helping fix Leah's cloak.

"Yes mom" Leah replied.

"Let's head off" they then headed to the carriage, they could have transformed and flown all the way there but that'll just cause unnecessary commotion so her mom opted for the carriage which Leah didn't really mind.

The journey took a couple of hours before the human city came into view; they stopped the carriage a few meters from the gates since it had the dragon family royal crest on it. When they walked up to the gates, Lilian just showed her adventurer's badge for the guards to respectfully let her in, this made Leah really curious so she whispered to her mom after they entered.

"Mom, do they know you are the queen of dragons?" she asked.

"No, but your mom's a pretty awesome adventurer that's why they were so respectful" Lilian whispered back to her daughter, finding her daughter's actions funny.

"Hold on to mommy's hand and don't let go, okay?" she said when they got to the human market, she wanted to buy a gift since she heard that her friend also had a child who was only a year younger than hers. When she didn't get a reply or feel Leah's hand on hers after a few seconds she looked to her side only to find Leah missing.

Her first impulse was to use her [dragon gaze] skill but before she used it, her eyes lost focus for a few seconds her golden pupils turning completely white before they got back to normal. After they got back to normal, she just smiled and walked towards her friend's mansion totally forgetting the gift she was meant to buy.

In an alley that was a few meters away from the market stood the scared little Leah, surrounded by three human kids. Few minutes ago, she was walking with her mom and before she knew it, they had been separated, since this was her first time around humans and a large crowd at that she got scared and tried to return to the guards since they seem to know her mom but she got lost and somehow ended up in this situation.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing on our turf?" one of the boys said.

"I-I'm looking for my mom, we got separated by the market" she timidly replied.

"Yeah? You look quite rich, why don't you give us some gold and we'll help you find your mom" boy number two said.

"I-I d-don't have any" she said getting even more nervous.

"Lies, I bet you have lots of gold under you cloak, I can even see the outline of a pouch behind you" number three said.

"Let's take it from her, two remove he cloak" number suddenly said and the rest started to approach her.

"N-no pl-" before she could continue, she suddenly heard someone speak from behind the boys.

"Ganging up on a girl is not nice, is it?" the person said causing the boys to turn around. The one who spoke looked like a kid no older than 5 but when the boys saw him, they became scared and ran away not even saying anything to the newly arrived person.

"Are you okay?" Leah heard him speak again, this time she looked at the boy who spoke. He had white hair and golden eyes much like hers and he was also very handsome.

"Y-yes I am" she replied feeling weirdly at ease around him although he was a total stranger.

"My name's Ethan, what's yours?" the handsome boy introduced himself.

"I-it's L-Leah" she replied with a blush since Ethan moved so close to her.

"Did you come with someone Leah?" Ethan asked.

"Y-yes, I came with my mom, her name is Lilian she's an adventurer" Leah quickly answered, hoping he'll help find her mom.

"Okay then, James" Ethan called.

"Yes, master Ethan?" a man who Leah hadn't noticed until now replied.

"Tell the guards to find an adventurer called Lilian, she might also be wearing the same cloak as Leah and I'm sure she might also be a dragon" Ethan commanded and then turned after James' reply to see Leah's stunned face "what" he asked.

"H-how did you-" Leah asked.

"It was really simple actually, I knew your mom had a cloak because if she wants to hide the fact that she's a dragon she should be wearing one, and if my guess is right that crest on your cloak must be a family crest so it wouldn't be strange if your mom wore the same cloak even if the color might be different" he simply explained.

"Awesome, I-I mean how did you know she would be a dragon?" she asked.

"Oh, about that, at first I thought you were an elf due to the amount of mana coming from you, but I kind of saw your tail when the boys were running away so a dragon was the only conclusion I could come up with" Ethan said.

"You can sense mana?" Leah asked in surprise.

"I guess, why don't you come with me while the guards look for your mother? My mom is making sweets today" he said offering her his hand.

"Um, okay" Leah said taking Ethan's outstretched hand.
