I found the whole situation I am in to be exasperatingly funny, "I am so tired." I'm mad about the fact that I died swimming with sharks while on my first assignment as a marine biologist. I was brought before God because he thought the irony was funny and felt sorry for me. 

God: I know this is a lot to take in but I would like to offer you a deal I like to create new worlds on occasion and one I have been working on has me excited. I am creating the Twilight world but I want to make it different so I will be changing some things to keep it fresh if you will. I will make soulmates a real thing everyone will have a soulmate but you will have to find them. Free will is still a big thing with me so I will only make it so you can recognize your mate not force you to love them. Falling in love is a journey all on it's own and should be experienced so I will not interfere. 

As for the supernatural side of things I will keep the children of the moon, the vampires and the shifters but I would like you to pick a fourth as your own race to inhabit my world. You will not be the only one, you will have a family but I have no control over what happens in that world once I have set the world rules in place. So think carefully because I will not be able to help once I send you off. 

After what felt like a long while and yet also no time at all I said "I have always loved the ocean so I would like to be a mermaid please. Not like the little mermaid from Disney or one of the creepy ones I want to be able to look like a human if I want to. 

God: Interesting, let me see we would need some base skills that all mermaids have and then maybe some variations within the species like the vampires hum... I've got it so for a race base skills will be.

*Essence Manipulation (soul healing and pearl merging with mate)

*Pearl Heart (Mer-folk produce soul pearl for mate on first touch after acceptance of mate)

"I have a question first will everything be like the Twilight world? Like say Rosalie for example because If so I would like to be able to help her with her greatest wish. I know how she feels wanting children but never being able to have them. It isn't a nice feeling same with Esme they deserve happiness. 

God: That is very sweet of you. Yes things will be mostly the same but I guess I can make it so that you can use the Gelidkinesis and healing skill to make it possible to heal a female vampires anatomy long enough to conceive and carry one child to term. The father however must be another vampire as they maintain the ability to have children already or a merman only. Ovum density does play a part as well so only those two partners can allow conception. This wouldn't be a special skill but it would just require you to practice your power control. So what do you want as your special ability?

"Can I be able to speak to sea creatures I have always loved them." 

God: Wonderful choice my child I will bless you as a daughter of the sea and send you to your new life. I will keep your memories sealed until your 18th birthday, may love find you and keep you safe. Good luck child, safe travels.

If you haven't already guessed I'm 18 now and this is the memory of my rebirth scene. My new/old memories came with a basic overview of the world I am in and of my meeting with God. I have no memories of my life before other than my love of the ocean and the information I read in books or watched in shows and movies. In this life I was born only to be orphaned soon after a warring pod came and raided our waters. We were able to survive but my parents were not. Mer-folk do not die from aging, we are alive with blood and beating hearts like any living being but we can only die if we are killed. We age until 20 and then we live until we are killed usually by another pod but sometimes other sea creatures can kill us as well, that is a very rare death. Lately as the humans grow in population and their technology advances our territories are shrinking and our numbers from infighting are dwindling. I don't like the fighting but I have trained as a warrior for it is a part of our culture, but when my memories came back to me I realized I don't have to stay under the surface. So I decided to leave on my birthday and that is where I found myself now. I raced through the waters searching for my salvation and fleeing from the constant battles of the warring tribes under the waters surface. Though I have now changed due to it my new memories and with my decision to flee from my pod my love for the ocean does not. I will head to Forks so I can help Rosalie and Esme, then go where the waters take me from there.
