"Do you really think this one wouldn't dare to kill you right here, right now?"
It would be a lie if Lucien claimed he wasn't scared by the goddess' threat.
However, he couldn't let his fear overpower him. He needed to maintain a facade of unwavering confidence, even though deep down, he felt the weight of her words pressing on him.
With a defiant glare, Lucien retorted, "Go ahead and kill me then."
The goddess looks taken aback by his unexpected response. "What?" she exclaimed, clearly surprised.
"I said, kill me! Do you honestly think a life filled with constant quests and challenges is a fulfilling existence? I'd rather face death than become your puppet," Lucien declared, his fists clenched tightly.
After a prolonged silence, the goddess broke into a smile. "Is that so?" With a slow movement, she extended her right hand towards Lucien.
