Chapter 11: Clan meeting

"Thank you all for coming here, we have some rather urgent clan news to discuss." The Hokage looked around the table where all the current clan heads were seated.

The words of the Hokage ha caught the attention of all clan heads, after all, it isn't often that they get called here for clan matters, the last one was when Hinata Hyuga was kidnapped.

The Hokage looked around the room once again making sure that everyone was here, "The matter that has to be discussed today is rather important for the Nara clan, they have acquired a new summoner, now Shikaku please explain what happened to the other clan heads."

This news was rather shocking to other clan heads evident by the slight widening of their eyes.

Shikaku then spoke up, "My son, Shikamaru, while training in the Nara forest with his mother felt a connection to a cave, it turned out to be an entrance to the realm of the Raccoons, there he had met an elder of the Raccoon Clan and managed to secure himself a summoning contract, what exactly happened I'm not sure of but I can say that the Nara clan was unaware of the existence of any kind of entrance or summoning contract to the raccoons."

The clan heads all looked to be in thought some more than others, for example, the Akimichi and Yamanaka clans looked like they had no problems with this but the Uchiha clan head looked rather conflicted on whether this was a problem or not.

"Now if anyone has any problems with this please raise your hands."

Out of the 10 people present, 3 raised their hands, and those three were the Hyuuga, Uchiha, and Shimura clan heads.

Normally if only three clans raised their hands it'd be no problem but in this case, it was the two most influential clans, plus the clan that leads the Anbu, so now they couldn't just be ignored.

The Hokage raised his eyebrow, "And what may your problems be?"

Hizashi Hyuuga spoke next, "I find it hard to believe that the Nara clan had no idea that a summoning contract was present on their clan grounds."

Fugaku Uchiha spoke after that, "I also think that it would be impossible for a clan as intelligent and aware as the Nara clan to not be aware of something as important as this."

Shimura Danzo was the person who spoke last, "A clan like the Nara should be aware of things like this, this just shows incompetence from the Nara clan and our Jonin Commander, who says they also won't be aware of this on a battlefield?"

Shikaku interfered, "I can prove those points wrong easily, and as for me or any other Nara clan member not being aware of things like this on a battlefield, why would we need to be aware of things like this within our own clan compound especially in peace times, now Shimura-san could you tell me when I had ever failed to notice things on the battlefield?"

Danzo simply backed out of the discussion.

Fugaku spoke up again, "Well this can be solved if we have a Yamanaka check your and your son's mind."

Shikaku glared at Fugaku for about a second before speaking up, "Then I also request that a Yamanaka check's the minds of every clan head, just to make sure that no clan is hiding anything, you would agree wouldn't you Uchiha-san after all you suggested this."

Fugaku simply backed down much like Danzo, and as for Hizashi he backed down the second he realized that Fugaku had angered Shikaku, after all, Shikaku wasn't the commander of the Jonin just because people liked him, no he was perhaps the strongest clan head next to Fugaku and Hizashi not to mention the other clan heads were on Shikaku's side, Hizashi quickly realized that he was currently overpowered, physically and politically.

The Hokage decided to put an end to the argument before it got out of hand, "Now that we have discussed this and determined that the Nara clan haven't broken the rule set up by Nidaime-sama, we can formally end this meeting, Shikaku-san, I will need you to follow me to my office to register your son as a summoner of Konoha, if that was all everyone may leave.

All the clan heads stood up most of them smiling at the sour face of Fugaku.

The Hokage and Shikaku left together to the Hokage's office and after walking for a bit they reached the oak doors of the office.

The Hokage sighed as he sat down in his chair, "It seems that not all clans have good relations with each other, but we cannot do much about that at the moment, so let us go ahead and register your son as a summoner."

The Hokage reached into a drawer of his desk and grabbed a small book titled 'Summoner Registry', "Now all I need is what animal he has a contract with and whether it is a single animal or a clan, the only other thing is his name and rank which he doesn't have yet."

Shikaku looked interested in the little book but decided to keep questions for later, "Well what I am aware of is that they are Raccoons and that they are a clan, no former summoners mentioned."

The Hokage nodded and wrote down the information into the book noticing the interest of Shikaku, "Would you like to take a look in the book?"

"Gladly, Hokage-sama."

Shikaku started reading through the book noticing many notable names such as Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, Tsunade Senju, and many other clan members, even the ones who had individual summons like Gai and Danzo were registered as summoners, sadly most of them were noted as deceased.

After finishing the book Shikaku stood back up and bowed to the Hokage, "Thank you for allowing me to read the book, it was rather informative, but I will need to take my leave to inform my wife and son of the news, have a good day Hokage-sama.

So I was basically dead for two days, I could barely walk let alone go on my computer, but I'm good now so I will continue daily updates and it was very difficult for me to write this chapter so I hope it was somewhat good, conversations are hard to write (at least for me) but we will be having some more action from now on and I've seen the concern of people thinking that Shikamaru will be too strong, well... he will be a lot stronger than the canon version but he won't be at the level of Madara until I'm at least at Shippuden but that is all I will say but yes he will be a lot stronger than the people his age.
