Grand Line Welcomes an Abnormality

Note: I guess I am addicted to writing this. Every time when I got somehow free I just can't stop typing. Anyways here is the first chapter of Volume 2, I hope you like it. Now I am going back to studying. Ah... I also decided to keep the oc's. İf they got annoying you can tell me and I will cut off their screentime.

Abel watched the crewmates train themselves with satisfaction while reading the armament haki manuel for the first time while sipping his wine. Abel didn't know his talent on learning haki but felt that reading and practicing according to the manual was much faster than normal training. Of course the fastest way to train would still be fighting someone to death.

As Abel was reading the manual a crewmate came towards him running while screaming.

'' C-Captain a giant whale appeared! What should we do!?''

'' What? Did you say a giant whale!? Let's go from different direction we should avoid it!''

Crewmates started panicking and started speaking among themselves. Abel looked at them indifferently.

' So, we met Laboon finally.'

'' Don't panic. Now... I will give you my first order as this ship's captain. This is also the last test for you. Those who pass will be members of Dark Moon travel group in the future. No matter which rank you are, even if you are a hostage, you will be under my name. Other than me, no one will be able to do anything to you without suffering the consequences.'' Abel said with a grave tone.

Abel was completely serious this time. Even though Abel didn't care about this people personally and would kill them in the blink of an eye if they committed an offense, being a ship captain required certain responsibilities. Abel's dream was to be the free and do whatever he wanted, protect the people he liked and beat up the people he disliked. İf Abel couldn't even protect the people in his own crew, that would mean his dream was a joke. Abel would never take a step that would make him farther from his dream. That's why even if he didn't care about these people personally, as long as they became his crewmates they would be protected. This was Abel's pride.

Everyone quieted down as they watched Abel, waiting for his instructions. Barbossa had a bad feeling in his heart when he saw the cold smile on Abel's face. Abel started talking nonchalantly as if he was talking about weather.

'' My first order as your captain is to sit down and let yourselves get eaten by this whale.''

Everyone looked at Abel as if he lost his mind.

'' C-Captain you are joking, right!?'' Nana asked with panic. ' We know you are a crazy person, but don't be so crazy please!'

Even though Abel knew that there is an exit in Laboon's stomach, these people were completely unaware. They were just ordinary people from east blue. They thought getting eaten by a huge whale was nothing but suicide. Abel also didn't explain himself.

'' Yes, BOSS!'' Bernard didn't care as he sat down immediately. Everyone including Abel looked at him a little weirdly. Abel smiled a second after though ' This guy is a little strange, but he seems loyal. I like his personality.'

Abel turned towards Nana and coldly said

'' No.'' Afterwards Abel turned towards the rest of the crew while sipping his wine calmly.

'' This is your last test. A captain's order should never be questioned. Even if I give you an impossible or a completely crazy order, you must strive to achieve it. Even if I order you to die, you must advance without hesitation.''

Abel knew that there would be many hardships until they became a powerhouse. Abel didn't want his crew to escape or disobey him in a crucial time. That's why he conducted this test to test their loyalty. Talent and potential might be important but Abel thought loyalty and bravery was even more important.

' Well, if they don't even dare to do this, I really can't make anything out of these trash.'

Abel took out Aranruth and everyone was instantly frightened. But then, a strange thing happened as they saw Abel dropping Aranruth to the floor in front of them. Abel showed his empty hands to his crew and spoke calmly.

'' Today, I will give you a chance to betray me. This will be your only chance to betray me while you are on this crew.''

Everyone looked dumbfounded and was extremely confused. ' A chance to betray him? What is this madman thinking now?'

Abel warmly smiled at them but his eyes were cold.

'' Those who don't want to get eaten by the whale and afraid of facing death can jump off the ship now. I won't do anything to them. I am giving you a chance to save your lifes. I am giving you a choice. Jump, or sit.''

Afterwards Abel didn't care about them anymore and kept reading the armament haki manual while drinking his wine. Barbossa's heart kept beating rapidly as he was in panic. ' What is going on!? Did he lost his mind?'

Rest of the crew was not any better as they started to argue and shout among themselves.

'' What!? Sit or jump? What sort of shit is this!?''

'' What do we do!?''

'' Fuck! Fuck! I knew I should have obediently stayed at home!''

Crew panicked and screamed yet Abel didn't care as he sipped his wine with a cold face. Those who leave was trash, those who stay would be accepted. İt was just that simple.

Nana trembled while she looked at Abel's cold eyes. ' W-What should I do?'

Barbossa was in an even more intense internal crisis ' How did things end up like this!? I knew he was a little crazy... But ordering us to die as his first order? İs he a madman?'

'' Nana, we came here togather. Let's leave togather as well. This ship has no future! The captain is batshit crazy.'' A slim and tall pirate told Nana who was trembling while bitting her bottom lip.

This was a friend Nana joined the ship with. Nana didn't hear him though as she was still thinking with a blank look on her face.

' I-I didn't leave my village to escape at first obstacle. How can I go back like this!?' Nana gritted her teeth as she looked at the completely calm Abel. After a few seconds she sighed in resignation and sat next to him again.

The friend of Nana looked at her with disappointed and disdainful eyes as he jumped off the ship.

Abel felt someone shooking his arm and turned to see Nana.

'' Captain... İf we don't die, you must treat me good in the future!'' Nana said with a resigned smile. Abel smiled when he saw her like that. Abel looked at the members who sat. For now including Nana and Bernard, only 6 out of 38 sat down while around 10 already jumped down the ship.

Meanwhile Barbossa was still in the middle of his own internal struggle. ' Fuck, Fuck! Look what you have gotten into just because of some money and fame!?' Barbossa wanted to jump of this ship immediately but was conflicted.

' What do I do after jumping off the ship? Go back and flatter Alvida for life...? She doesn't even need me to stroke her ego anymore, she really is the most beautiful.' Barbossa was filled with indecisiveness. He looked at the young man who is still drinking his wine calmly as he remembered the first time he saw him. A person that had nothing somewhat became the strongest in east blue, surprassing every obstacle on his path. 'I... I don't think, I am a person capable of achieving my dreams. But... there might be a small chance if I follow him, right?' Barbossa's body trembled as he also sat down reluctantly with a resigned face. ' Forget about it. Even if I go back, what do I do? Stay as a lowly person? I will gamble everything on him. My life is worthless anyway, so why does it matter if I die?' Barbossa let out a sigh as he also sat down.

Barbossa closed his eyes as the whale's mouth closed. Nana's eyes teared in fright as she took Abel's hand subconciously. Meanwhile Bernard was grinning as if this was the most fun thing in the world.

'' HAHAHAHAHA, Let's go!''

Just like that Laboon's jaw closed on the crew. Abel looked at the remaining 18 members that are sitting with a warm and sincere smile and started clapping while laughing.

'' Hahaha, good job. From now on you are all members of Dark Moon travel group. You all passed. Now... let's go find the exit, shall we?''

Nana who had tears in her eyes and Barbossa who already gave up on life looked at him with blank faces. Barbossa looked at Abel with his mouth fully open.

'' C-Captain... There was an exit on the whale?''

'' Yeah. Otherwise, why would I let us get eaten? Do you think I am a madman?''

' Yes... Yes we think you are!' Nana cursed Abel on her mind as she also sighed in relief. Abel laughed as he started boasting shamelessly.

'' Don't worry! İn the future you will remember this moment and be proud of this choice you made! You just joined the most handsome and awesome captain on his grand adventure! Congrulations, congrulations.'' Abel shamelessly boasted as he congrulated them in a cheerful mood. 18 people was already more than he expected actually. He expected around 5-6 people that would be brave enough to follow his order.

'' I am in a happy mood today! I decided you are promoted to temporary crew-members from hostages!? How about it? Awesome, right?''

Nana and Barbossa looked at Abel speechless of his mood swings. ' He... really is one of a kind...'

All crew members gave Abel a wry smile instead of cheering loudly. They nearly died from fright just now and was not in the mood to celebrate. Only Bernard seemed happy as he celebrated.

'' OH! Awesome! Boss, you are the best!'' Bernard cheered and even started dancing around energetically. Barbossa looked at Bernard and then Abel as he cursed himself. ' Crazy... They are all crazy. Why did I join such a crazy crew!?'

After the small celebration Abel started speaking nonchalantly again. '' Look around for a small island.''

' Small island?'

Just as the crew were thinking that their captain really lost it, they saw everything inside the whale was painted. They sighed as they stopped questioned the world they lived in. They stopped questioning their captain too.

'The world is crazy, Captain is crazy... İf everyone is crazy, maybe they are normal and we are the crazy ones?' While crew was in these type of mood, Bernard shouted cheerfully.

''BOSS! I saw the island! Do we raze it?''

Abel looked at him weirdly. ' Why do we raze it?' Abel normally could understand people's emotions and thoughts very well and formulate plans according to it. His eq was not bad... But when it came to Bernard he couldn't understand how his brain worked at all.

'' No. Just get closer.''

Abel also checked the sign in reward from reverse mountain.

'Congrulations host for signing in Reverse Mountain. Calculating the history and importance...Calculation completed: C grade. Grand Line starter pack rewarded'

'What the hell is a starting pack?' Abel looked at it confused but decided to check it later when he saw Crocus appear on the island with a newspaper on his hand. Abel knew from the canon that if he asked Crocus who he is he will just say introduce yourself first and then cut him off. Thus Abel introduced himself first.

'' Hello my name is Abel. Who are you?'' Abel asked calmly. Crocus looked up from his newspaper disinterested.

'' My name is Cro-

'' Ah, I forgot to say I am also very handsome and amazing.'' Abel happily cut Crocus off while laughing merrily. 'Hahaha, get a taste of your own medicine, old man!'

'Ding! Relationship formed with Crocus(minor character). Current relationship -10( annoyed).'

Crocus frowned as he sighed inside. 'Youngsters these days getting more and more disrespectful.'

'' Are you searching for the exit? İt is right there.'' He showed the exit and then returned to his newspaper disinterestedly.

Abel actually wanted to recruit Crocus to his ship but that was impossible since he was tending to Laboon's wounds. Abel couldn't trick Crocus to farm relationship as well, this guy was an old fox. Abel gave Crocus a smile as he spoke casually.

'' How about we drink togather?'' ' İf we drink and talk maybe we will get somewhat closer.'

'' I don't mind drinking if you have anything good.''

Abel remembered the wine he got from signing in Cocoyashi Village and took it out and threw it towards Crocus. Crocus catched the wine and examined it for a while.

'' This is cheap wine.'' Crocus concluded.

Abel's face was dark as he cursed the system.

' Did you really give me cheap wine!? İt is just a bottle of wine, at least give something good! Fuck!'

'...'

'' Well, eveyone has different tastes.'' Abel waved his hand as he made up an excuse.

'' Nah, this wine is famous for being trash in North Blue.''

Abel's face was dark. 'This old man really doesn't let me bullshit my way out of this!?'

''Pff, Hahahahaha''

Abel turned to Nana who couldn't help but laugh and gave her a dark smile. ' I will deal with you later.'

Nana was aggrieved. ' İt was you, who wanted to act cool! What does it have to do with me?'

Abel gave up dealing with Crocus temporarily and left while waving at him. '' Old man, next time we meet I will bring you the greatest alchole you will ever taste! This is not over!'' 'Abel couldn't accept losing face like this so he made a promise to him casually as he left.

Crocus also waved to him as he watched him carefully. ' This boy, is somewhat abnormal. When did younger generation got this interesting?'

'' Kid, wait.''

Abel turned back confused. ' I know I can't scam relationships from you, old man. What do you want?'

'' I am a bit interested in you. I will be reading the newspapers everyday. Don't disappoint this old man. İf you can travel the world and come back around, I will drink with you. You don't need to bring anything, I will brew the greatest alchole you will ever taste.'' Crocus gave a slight smile. Even though Abel acted casual and there wasn't much interraction between them with his experience he could see that Abel was not simple.

' Relationship updated with Crocus(minor character). Current relationship +25( Very interested)'

Abel frowned as he looked at Crocus. 'Why did he change his mind all of a sudden? Also Crocus can brew alchole as well?' Abel was a little confused but happily left anyway.

'' Ok, whatever you say old man. Let's go, guys.''

Crocus looked at the leaving Abel with a melancholic smile. ' How many years has it been... A person that searches for freedom with all he has. Just like Roger... But somehow different. How interesting. Don't let this old man down.'

Crocus smiled heartily as he opened the cheap wine bottle and started drinking.
