Attack on the Camp

Jaden's group was almost back to camp and the sun had set, Shane was having a fish fry with the people at the campsite.

Everyone was enjoying themselves as they ate, Jim who was one of the members of the group was nervous and cautious.

Earlier that day Shane had to restrain him because he was in the sun for hours just digging holes. Shane asked him to put down the shovel and rest but Jim refused and kept digging the holes.

When they asked why he started digging the holes, he lied and told them he couldn't remember.

At that moment they heard the sound of car engines and saw the headlights. Jaden's group was back.

"Dad! You're back."

Carl ran towards Rick who had just stepped out of the car.

"Of course bud, I will always come back." Rick smiled and messed up his hair

"Come join us, Shane caught some fish earlier and it's pretty good." Dale shouted

"Better than mine." Jaden laughed

"Not even close." Chloe smiled and hugged him

She was happy that Jaden was back, even though she knew how strong and smart he was she still was worried about him.

Jaden, Rick, Daryl, Alfred, Glenn and T-dog sat down and ate some fish. Telling them what happened when they went to Atlanta.

"Merle's gone, he wasn't there when we got there. We believe he cut his own hand off and cauterized the stump to stop the bleeding. He then left and is out there somewhere." Rick said

"Tomorrow I'm gonna head out to look for my brother." Daryl said and everyone nodded

"Excuse me, I'll be right back." Amy got up

"Where are you going?" Andrea asked her sister

"If you must know, I have to use the restroom. I would hope for a little privacy." Everyone laughed at the sisters.

Well, everyone except Jaden, he felt that this scene was so familiar. He couldn't remember what happened in the show, but It gave him a bad feeling.

"Jaden, are you alright?" Chloe noticed he was quiet

"Yeah I'm fine." Jaden replied

"Where's Amy she's taking forever in the bathroom." Andrea mumbled

Only Jaden heard her thanks to his superhuman abilities, he frowned when he heard this and got up quickly.

Jaden remembered what happened in the show, this was the night where Amy and other people died to walkers and the group left the campsite shortly after.

"Jaden, what's wrong?" Everyone was startled

"Alfred get the guns, quick hurry up." Jaden had no time to answer their questions

As soon as he said that the traps that warn them of walker's went off, everyone scrambled as they heard the alarm.

Jaden grabbed his katana and went towards Dale's RV where Amy was, he heard the screams and groans from Ed on his way. It was too late to save him but not Amy.

Amy had just stepped out of the RV when she heard the shouts of panic coming from the campfire. She was walking over when she was grabbed by a walker.

She froze with fear and fell down with the walker on top of her. Amy was crying and closed her eyes as death approached.

Just before the walker could bite her neck, a blade went through it's skull. Amy opened her eyes and saw Jaden, Jaden helped her up and she just cried in his arms.

"Are you okay? Did you get bit?" Jaden asked Amy as he checked her body

Amy was still in shock and didn't answer him, Andrea had heard Amy's screams and ran over.

"Amy! Amy! Is she alright?" She asked Jaden

"Yes she's fine, go grab a gun there are more of them." Jaden grabbed Amy and put her on the roof of the RV.

The campsite was being attacked by Walkers but thanks to Jaden's warning they had grabbed weapons to fight back.

Walkers were coming from every direction as Rick, Shane, Daryl and Alfred were firing back. Morales, Glenn and T-dog were bashing their heads in with bats while Chloe was slicing heads off with her katana.

Lori and Carol led the kids to the RV while Dale covered them. After a couple of minutes all the walkers were dead and they were still on high alert.

"Carl!" Rick screamed as he ran and made sure his son was okay. Everyone checked on their loved ones to make sure they were okay.

Some were lucky, others weren't. Carol and Sophia cried as they saw Ed's mangled body, his guts hanging out his stomach.

"I remember what my dream was about." Jim said as looked at all the dead bodies.

They didn't get that much sleep that night as many people were traumatized and scared. They had 4 people stand on guard instead of 2 as they didn't want history to repeat itself.

It was dawn and they had made a fire to burn the bodies. The walkers were to be burnt while the dead members of the camp were to be buried.

Jacqui was about to drag one of the dead walkers to the fire when she noticed Jim walking towards her.

"Are you bleeding?" She asked Jim

"No, I just got some on me from the bodies." Jim replied breathing heavily

"That blood is fresh. Were you bit?" She asked suspiciously

"No, I just got scratched during the attack." Jim answered nonchalantly

"You got bit." Jacqui back away from him

"No, I'm fine." He responded

"Then show me." Jacqui didn't believe him

"Don't tell anyone, Please." Jim pleaded

"A walker got him. A walker bit Jim." Jacqui yelled

Everyone stopped and approached Jim, Jim was nervous and started to get defensive.

"I'm okay, I'm okay." Jim stuttered

"Then show it to us." Daryl demanded not believing Jim for a second

Jim didn't want to show them and ran to pick up a shovel to defend himself. Jim was outnumbered and was restrained by T-dog as they lifted his shirt.

They saw a bite wound on his ribs and it was turning greenish. They knew that Jim was infected and looked at him with caution and pity.

They left Jim alone and went to discuss what they wanted to do with him. Everyone was quiet until Daryl broke the ice.

"I say we put a pickaxe in his head." Daryl was pacing back and forth

"Is that what you would want if it was you?" Shane asked

"Yeah, and I'd thank you while you did it." Daryl responded like it was the obvious choice

"I hate to say it, but maybe Daryl's right." Dale sighed

"Jim's not a monster, Dale, or some rabid dog." Rick interrupted

"He's sick, If we go down that road where do we draw the line?" Rick continued

"The line is pretty clear, zero tolerance for walkers, or future ones." Daryl replied

"What if we can get him help? What if the C.D.C. is still up and running?" Rick asked

"It's a stretch." Shane responded

"We could find a cure for Jim, we would have food and shelter, we could be safe." Rick argued

"No need." Jaden said

Everyone went silent and waited for him to talk.

"You don't know if there is a cure, I don't know about the CDC being safe, but I do know we would be putting ourselves in danger by having Jim around us." Jaden slowly said as he got up.

"I will handle Jim." Jaden was about to walk off before Rick stopped him.

"We don't kill the living." Rick pointed his gun at Jaden trying to intimidate him

"Since when do you speak for the group Rick? Last time I checked you were in a coma for 2 months while we were fighting to survive." Jaden looked Rick in his eyes

"Everyone knows if you get bit or scratched you are a dead man, when did the rules change?"

"Look around Rick, people are terrified, they don't see a sick man, they see a safety hazard." Jaden continued

Rick looked around and even Lori couldn't deny what Jaden said, she was terrified for her and her son.

"You might not care right now, but if he turns and bits someone then that will be on you. Luckily that won't happen." Jaden said

Before Rick could respond Jaden shot Jim in the head and walked off. Rick was stunned and angry that Jaden had killed Jim. Rick was about to attack Jaden when he saw Alfred pointing his gun at him.

"Calm down, think before you react or you won't be able to handle the consequences." Alfred warned him before walking away.

Everyone just stared at Jim's body before walking away with relief. Even though they didn't say it, they were thankful for Jaden as he made the hard choice that they couldn't.
