Chapter 27

Meanwhile in another location during Denatus. Amidst the shadowy depths, perched atop a throne crafted of bones, sat a dragon like woman. Her scales shimmered in the dim light, casting an eerie glow above the cavernous space. With eyes fixed ahead, she appeared lost in thought, as if considering her next move.

The air hummed with an electric energy, hauntingly of the raw power at her disposal. She was a force to be reckoned with, a queen, ruler or god. What she did in those depths and who was she, no one could guess. The sound of the footstep's of her subordinates seemed to draw her out of her thoughts.

"??? Sama" the subordinate greeted with fear and respect.

"The target has acquired the abomination" the subordinate said while still bowing its head.

The dragon lady made an unsettling grin as she sat on her throne of bones, her ears attuned to her subordinates words.

The news had stirred and excited her, how could she use this to her advantage, when should she strike and how she would deal with the aftermath?.

She pondered these questions as they spoke, while the flickering torchlight casted shadows across her twisted features. She then nodded in approval as she was pleased.

"What are you orders ??? sama" said the still kneeling subordinate.

"Do nothing for now, it is not yet time. We can wait" said the dragon lady with an eerie smile as her eyes glowed with a weird glint.

"Send word to Thanatos. He is somewhat useful, no need to make it easy for them" she said as she waved her subordinates to leave the room.

Back in Orario the Denatus was coming to an end. It was mostly the same as normal except the constant bickering between Bahamut, Loki and Freya. Hephaestus and Demeter had continued to mediate between them but they only stopped when the meeting ended.

After the Denatus ended the gods exited the tower to their respective homes. I remained outside to escort my goddess back home lest she be attacked by evilus. I ended up meeting four goddesses walking together. They were Loki, Hephaestus, Bahamut and Demeter. As courtesy, I had to introduce myself to the goddesses that I was meeting for the first time.

"So this is the dragon kin, he's quite handsome" said Demeter as she smiled mischievously.

"Nice to meet you Lady Demeter, I am Draco, captain of the Bahamut familia" I said while slightly bowing my head in a gentleman like manner. Well I did watch a lot of anime and it took me a while to get rid of certain habits from my life old life, so I seem more normal.

"Oh my what a gentleman" Demeter said while covering her mouth with one hand, hiding her chuckle.

"How did you know who I was" Demeter asked.

"I have been in Orario for a while so how could I not know of the Demeter familia. The familia that feeds Orario" I said while turning my head to the other goddess.

"You must be Loki sama, a pleasure to meet the goddess of one of Orario's strongest familia" I said while greeting her.

"Hmmf, he doesn't look anything special. My Ais can still beat him anytime" said Loki while turning her head away from me.

Seeing as my goddess didn't want to talk anymore. I quickly thought of an excuse to head home with her.

"Bahamut sama, it's getting late and Lili is at home alone" I said.

"Oh my look at the time. I must be heading home now, my escort is here" Bahamut said while she went to hug Hephaestus.

"See you later Hephi, Demeter and pettanko" said Bahamut as she walked toward me.

"Bye Bahamut, Draco" Hephaestus said as we left while she waited for Tsubaki.

"Kiiiii, damn that chibi, dwarf, flat chested dragon" Loki said as she felt enraged by Bahamut words. While Demeter just waved goodbye.

From the shadows unknown to them Freya was watching, her smile looked eerie.

"What do you think of him Ottar" Freya said to someone in the shadows.

"I cant say for now but his presence feels unnatural" he said. He got a weird feeling from Draco.

"Interesting, just what are you hiding about him Bahamut" she said as she looked away from the direction Draco and Bahamut left.

Me and Bahamut walked the main streets of Orario while heading home. We stopped by a street stall, buying dinner to eat with Lili.

I kept my senses at full alert for any mishaps. My senses were got a bit stronger after my level up so did my mind and use of two basic elemental runes.

I had so many ideas on what basic elements to combine and their effects but still no accurate data on how much mind that would be consumed in the process.

I could activate both fire and wind rune to boost each other but I had no idea the cost of upkeep for the spells. I didn't want to risk it as I trained Lili in the dungeon this past week.

Just one mistake because I was exhausted could mean her death. The dungeon wasn't as forgiving after-all, I was just a level 2 in the end.

I could have tested those at home but, magic was a dangerous thing and required decent research. I learned all this from Rize. Spells needed to be cast to know the limit and I needed someone to protect me in case the test leads to a mind down.

We soon arrived home and to my surprise Lili was still awake. I thought that she would be asleep and I would have to wake her up but seems I was wrong.

"Welcome back, Bahamut sama, Draco nii" she said as we walked into the house. The house still looked a bit dreary, we only had few things. I didn't want to buy much here because our new manor was being constructed.

I had a decent amount of Valis from my adventurous dive but expenses would go up as soon as my siblings and Clair arrived.

We then had dinner and I was told about my alias 'Black hunter'. 'What's up with me and black every-time' I thought as we finished dinner.

I would be going to the guild tomorrow, Rose had some quests for me to fulfil and I would be returning to fully grinding in the dungeon.

On weekends, I planned to take Lili to the dungeon to accumulate excelia, Lili had an interesting skill and magic which was totally different from canon, so I would train her accordingly.

I already made standards for the future members of the Bahamut familia. The minimum requirement for anyone to be allowed to level up in the familia would be to have their main stat A ranked while every other stat must be between B and C ranked.

Those were the standards to level up. I didn't mind us being small in number but I would prefer quality over quantity anytime. The selection process would be brutal and I would do what was necessarily for my familia members to achieve those stats.

The next day I woke up to the usual, Lili and Bahamut were on top me again. 'Bahamut was really testing my sanity' I thought while slipping away from the bed to the bathroom.

The new familia house would be complete in 2 to 3 months time. The third floor would be for the goddess and executives, the second would be for normal adventurers while the first would be for the supporters and newbies to reside. The house would be expanded when necessary as the land was just that big.

It made me wonder why such a large piece of land in the city would be sold for so cheap. My new nature of not spending money on unnecessary things had made me opt to buy it without thinking much.

'Anyway the familia I hired to build would tell me if they found anything weird during construction' I thought as I finished cleaning up and went to make breakfast.

After breakfast, I put on my gear and went to the guild. I needed to save Ardee and be level three before the end of next year. Saving Ardee looked easy. I just needed to save her from the kid that led to her death, but I didn't know what variables that could have changed with my existence.

For now, I planned to just patrol the streets and present the Bahamut familia in good light while keeping my ears out for news on when the Ganesha familia attack the evilus base.
