Thoughts in a new Life (2/2)

A gust of wind blowing, brushing through the trees and bushes. The grass around the pond standing tall dancing in the wind together with the leaves that flew of the trees.

In midst of all that I sit there. Caught by the moment not knowing what to do.

Breathing in, looking around once more and slowly breathing out again.

[Ok, so what am I supposed to do now? Hunt? I just woke up and ate so hunting seems a bit overkill. Training? How do I even do that without getting into a deadly Pokémon fight?]

After a bit of thinking I decide to scout the area, it's not like I have something better to do and that pond is pretty much the only place where I stayed for more than an hour. I wanted to travel and experience this world sooner or later so I guess it's just sooner now.

[If I really want to travel I should get stronger tho, not that I get defeated and killed by some overpowered Ratatta. Thinking about my first and up until now last fight I start wondering why I couldn't talk to that Spearow. Aren't Pokémon supposed to be able to talk to each other? Thinking about it, it's probably a good thing. What if it talked and it had family or even children? No way in hell I could have eaten it. Can Pokémon communicate in this world? Or are they just your basic animals?

I guess I will find out sooner or later. Probably later.]

I walked for about 10 Minutes through the forest passing a few Caterpies and Weedles. And now found some kind of walking trail.

I decide to follow the trail even if it's not by walking on it but beside it in the safety of bushes and hedges.

What can I say not a lot happened in the past hour. But now I can hear the sound of an engine in the distance. I crawl through the bushes only to see that the trail is big enough to now be big enough to be called a dirt road.

I stop walking and lay don't to safely see what is about to pass. I would consider myself a car guy so don't judge me.

Soon after I laid down a car passes.

[Oh ok it's a police car, looks like someone mixed a Volvo and a BMW, looks... pretty good actually. Oh, there is a Growlithe at the window! Sup Dog Buddy!]

And as quickly as the car came it was gone again.

[Being a Growlithe would have been awesome. I mean, being a Dog is already good enough but breathing fire? That sounds just awesome.]

Anyway, I walk a lonely road, the only Pokémon I could see where 2 Caterpies and a Weedle of some Bug-Catcher-11-Year-old.

[What the fuck are parents even doing in this world? Certainly not paying any attention to what their kids are doing or anything related to raising their kids correctly that is certain. I never understood why these Kids would waste one of their Pokéballs that they bought with not so hard earned Pocketmoney to catch a 2nd or even 3rd boring Cater-Weedle-Bug Pokémon. I mean if they even would understand Pokemon Types half as good as I do they would know that one Pidgey, Spearow or even Ratatta could make a huge - well a decent difference in a Pokémon fight.

Not that I did ever fight a Caterpie or Weedle before but I bet they are easy to beat once you know what you are doing.

I should probably figure that out soon. I don't actually think I would feel as sorry for those as I did for that Spearow. Those Bug Types are pretty much everywhere so if there are less of those nobody will miss those...]

I come to a halt and keep my last thought in mind.

[ok. So that's the plan now. Find some berries in case the fight against those get out of hand and after that find some Bug Types that I can defeat and get stronger, I actually don't want to stay in this forest forever, and I'm sure I will be too weak to continue traveling. So forget this road and let's find some Berries!]

I turn towards the forest again and start running, this aimless walking that I have been doing has already been done for too long.

First thing I want to do before hunting is finding some Pecha-Berries or at least make sure where to find them. I want to make sure that I don't die because some weak Weedle hit me with poison sting.

I continue to run deeper into the forest, but before I can find the Berries I want, I find a Caterpie eating leafs of a bush.

[Alright, It's go time!]

I begin to climb one of the two trees, that have branches which reach over the bush. I don't plan on fighting this fair and square like that I did with that Spearow. I notice that my body is not built for this kind of assassin-fighting style, because I really start to struggle climbing this thing.

It took a good 2 Minutes longer than I wanted to get onto this branch over that Caterpie, but I did it. The Caterpie is still eating leaves under me you could call it a wonder because I surely wasn't that quiet.

Anyhow the Caterpie is eating and I am in position.

I jump down towards the Caterpie and open my mouth for a high impact Bite-Attack.

I want to latch onto it somewhere in its neck region where ever that exactly is for a Caterpie.

Not even a second later I land my hit, I landed exactly in the middle of its body, the Caterpie not even realizing what the f*ck just happened. Half a second later my teeth burrow themselves in the neck of the caterpillar.

Not exactly how I planned but it works out.

The Caterpie tries to wind itself out of my deadly grip but I don't let it to that.

[Which is as easy as you think, I mean it's a weak Caterpie.]

I don't let go but instead, shake my head wildly to make more damage, just like some animals from earth, the crocodile for example.

Moments go by and the giant caterpillar stops moving.

[Wow. That worked out perfectly. I guess I will take a bite. On earth, I would never eat Insects but here the insects are as big as cats and even look cute. So I have no problem with taste-testing.]

I take a bite of the side of the Caterpie.

[ok...Weird at first because it's really dry, but as I get over that fact. In the end, it makes sense because Insects like that Caterpie have no blood.

Kind of tastes like room temperature Bacon-Strips. I like Bacon so that is really a pleasant surprise. I plan on hunting them to get stronger, so it's good to know that at the very least they taste good. I hope I get just as lucky with the Weedles.]

I finish my lunch.

[I honestly can't say I if it's an early lunch or I lost my overall sense of time since I became a Pokémon. I will just eat once I get hungry. Worked out fine when I was a human.]

All that's left and I really can't get myself to eat it by any means are the Inner organs, the carapace, and the Eyes. I know Eyes are a delicacy somewhere on earth but not where I originally came from.

[I guess now I will hunt just for the sake of leveling up and traveling the world, at least till it's dinner time.]

I continue my level conquest again.

I find a Pidgey but decide not to go for it, I want to be stronger before I get into any serious fights again. So I go around I and search for my main level up targets.

A few minutes later I find another Caterpie that isn't paying attention it's just sitting there chilling. There are trees nearby, of course, because it's a forest but sadly none of the branches are close or thick enough for me to use them for another assassination.

So I do it the standard way, slowly and quietly I sneak up behind it. I'm getting closer, I am about 3 meters away from it,...2....1 and... sh*t!

[It turned around! Ah f*ck! Why?! Why couldn't I stare into that direction for a few more seconds! I am 100% sure it didn't hear me!]

The Caterpie just stares at me shocked, I'm sure it knows what's about to happen. It ... stands up? I'm not sure how to describe it. And shoots a string shot at me!

Really? That's what you go for? Damm wild Pokémon are f*cking dumb.

I try to dodge but it manages to get my left hind leg, but I just shake it off and start running towards it.

The Caterpie starts panicking and does a tackle that is aimed somewhere but surely not aimed to really hit me directly, was it aiming for my leg? Whatever I also dodge that, as much as you can dodge something that wouldn't really hit you in the first place.

And I arrive directly in front of the Caterpie. I open my mouth and bite in its neck just like I did the last time.

The Caterpie screams in pain, which I can't really take seriously because it sounds like

a very high pitched: "Caaaaaaterpiiiiiieee!!!"

Makes me giggle more than it makes me have pity.

I continue with the attack like last time, suddenly the screaming stops and the Caterpie straightens up again, opening its own mouth. But I noticed too late...

The Caterpie comes down and bites into my back.

[aaauurggh! F*****ccccckkk that hurts like hell! AAaaaargh...]

I try to hold onto its neck but the pain is real and it hurts baaaadly.

[Please just die. It huuuurts.]

Moments later the bite of the Caterpie loosens and it let's go.

[I would be happy now but the paaaaiiin. I didn't know bug type attacks hurt this much! I try to see my back but can't really turn my head around that much. I only see that I bleed, not much but not a little either.

I guess it got me good. I take a bite. Just to let go of my frustration and walk away chewing.

[ok I'am thirsty again. I should probably look around for water, if I don't find anything I will have to head back to the pond.]

I continue walking and after about 5 minutes the normal leaf trees change into some kind of pine tree. The adrenalin in my body stops working but the pain already isn't as bad anymore as it was when the wound was fresh.

I see a nearly snoozing Weedle in a tree about 20 meters away. I surely won't let this chance go by. I change my direction so that I don't just go straight towards it. I will try to use my stealth strategy again. Sure it's exhausting but it surely is less painful. So f*ck a fair fight for now.

2 Minutes later and I come closer to the Weedle on the 6 o' clock position.

I'm about 10 meters away now and I find the right tree.

Now my long journey upwards begins...

To be continued...
