Covered in bruises. That's what Daniel is after just half an hour of training with Vilkas. As it turns out, Vilkas is pretty great at using two-handed weapons.
Most of it was Daniel's fault actually. He really sucked at fighting, just like everything else with the sole exception being forging.
When Vilkas even brought his hammer near Daniel, Daniel would flinch. He wouldn't know what to do and he still feared that it would hurt to be hit by a Warhammer. Although he got hit, he didn't know it because it didn't hurt.
The first time he didn't flinch and close his eyes tight, he saw a blurry little blue dot on Vilkas' side. He didn't have enough courage to attack it, and he was even confused that it was there. He thought 'Isn't that only supposed to happen when I forge?', not smart enough to know it was Skyram helping him out.
"Can't even keep his eyes open!" complains Vilkas to another member of The Companions.
"Then train him to! It's your duty." replies the Companion.
Vilkas keeps complaining for another 10 minutes to the other Companion and then goes back to Daniel.
"You keep your eyes open!" he says "Or else you'll be kicked out of the Companions." He didn't actually expect it to do anything like motivate Daniel, but Daniel knew he would become a werewolf if he continued this story, and it made him motivated for the first time in his two lives.
"Alright, I'm ready." he mumbles
Vilkas' Warhammer comes towards Daniel at a steady pace, not slow but not super fast.
Instinctively, Daniel tries to close his eyes but he was able to barely hold them open enough to see the hammer coming at him.
For the first time, Daniel knew what to do, and what to do was to dodge.
"Huh? You actually improved?" says Vilkas as he twists his hammer and swings it back at Daniel.
"Ah!" Daniel shouts as he tries to lift his Warhammer and swing it at Vilkas'.
"Hahaha!" Vilkas makes a hearty laugh. "You're 2000 years too early to do that!"
Vilkas barely changes the rotation of the hammer, but that was enough to cause Daniel's hammer to go flying over to Jorrvuskr.
"Hey!" shouts a Companion who was enjoying the scenery but was nearly hit with a flying Warhammer.
Daniel saw in the corner of his vision 'Two-Handed level 3'. 'It leveled twice because I swung my hammer once?'
The truth is that he was leveling fast because he was being taught by a Master trainer of two-handed weaponry.

3 Months Later
It turns out that Daniel was essentially just playing Skyram with his mind instead of a controller. He didn't need to sleep or eat, and it was only after these 3 months that he started to feel tired.
Over the three months, the only thing he did was battle with Vilkas and watch the Companions leave on missions, while occasionally talking with Eorlund.
He was sad that he couldn't convince Eorlund to teach him more blacksmithing techniques.
Within the first week, he stopped flinching. The rest of the first month was him working on dodging the slow attacks that he could dodge. The second month he started to swing back at Vilkas, who didn't knock his hammer away in fear that he would be scolded by somebody. Not that he was afraid of it, he would just lose time to hit Daniel. The final month, Daniel had begun to attack the little blue dots that appeared on Vilkas.
"Woah!" Vilkas said. "You finally attacked the deliberate openings I left!"
Daniel finished the month and he was beginning to actually know how to use a Warhammer. He could dodge some attacks, hit decently, and he started to be able to recognize openings without the help of Skyram.
"Huaah..." Daniel yawns during a battle with Vilkas, which almost made him get hit in the face with a giant Warhammer.
"First time I've seen you tired." says Vilkas.
"First time I've ever felt this tired." Daniel says. "Can I go sleep?"
"Never said you couldn't." and as Daniel starts walking to Jorrvuskr, Vilkas shouts "Who said you could go sleep?"
"You didn't say I couldn't, though?"
"Uhm... sleep well, child"
Daniel steps into the building and feels the warm glow of a long fire on his face. He steps over to the right and down a flight of stairs to a door.
Through the door is another long hallway with plenty of other doors. To the left is an open doorway without a door that leads to a large room with a lot of beds in it.
Daniel walks over to a random bed and plops down on it. Within seconds, he is asleep.
He instantly wakes up right after he falls asleep. He sits up and looks around, seeing a long hall filled with sleeping children.
"How long have a been asleep?" he asks.
"About 9 hours I would say, give or take 1 or 2." says a child that should definitely be asleep. The sun hasn't even come up and a clock would say it is 5 o'clock in the morning.
'I slept for 9 hours but lived in Skyram for 3 months? That would mean a month in Skyram is 3 hours here. What happens if I stay here for an hour, will 3 months pass?'
Luckily for him, 3 months won't pass after an hour. 3 months in Douluo Dalu is and 9 hours in Skyram and vice-versa.
Daniel closes his eyes and sees the menu. He looked up towards what he thought would be skills but said 'Level up'. Before he could stop, he had already selected it.
'Choose a stat to upgrade!' it said with Health +10, Cultivation Talent +10, Stamina +10'
'Hmm...' he thought. 'I'm good enough to not get hit by somebody a few levels above me, I guess considering Vilkas. I've got enough stamina to last me a while, 3 months without sleep... I guess I'll go with cultivation speed.'
His sight lays onto 'Cultivation Talent' as it starts to glow blue. He thinks 'Yeah, select it already!'
The window fades away as his mind feels clear, and his thoughts go many times faster. 'If ten made me feel like... six times better, was my cultivation talent two?
Then it pops up again, saying the exact same thing.
'Choose a stat to upgrade! Health +10, Cultivation Talent +10, Stamina +10'
Cultivation talent!
'Choose a stat to upgrade! Health +10, Cultivation Talent +10, Stamina +10'
Cultivation Talent!
'Choose a stat to upgrade! Health +10, Cultivation Talent +10, Stamina +10'
Cultivation Talent!
'Choose a stat to upgrade! Health +10, Cultivation Talent +10, Stamina +10'
Cultivation Talent!
...
'Choose a stat to upgrade! Health +10, Cultivation Talent +10, Stamina +10'
Cultivation Talent!
After it appeared 12 times, it finally stopped. Now, Daniel has a cultivation of 120 plus his original talent, which was somewhere around 2.
He could see 'Perks to increase: 12' at the top of his vision, along with 'Health 100, Cultivation 122, Stamina 100' at the bottom.
He forgets about it in seconds and looks over to what surprised him the most over both is lifetimes. He saw 'Two-Handed 50'!
sorry if you read this immediately after I updated thinking I made a new chapter, but I realized that 50 two-handed is definitely enough to level up past 3 (he leveled up before because of blacksmithing after the awakening ceremony but only opened the menu now) so I did a big update.
