Daniel decided it would be best to upgrade the perks for two-handed, seeing as it was the only weapon kind he could use.
He looked over to the constellation in the shape of a hammer and concentrated on it. Everything blurs as his vision gets pulled upwards.
The first perks says:
Barbarian (0/5)
10 Two-Handed required
Two-Handed weapons do +20% more damage (+20% per rank)
Upgrade?
Daniel mentally nods his head yes to the question at the end. The star below the box starts to shine as 'Barbarian (0/5)' slowly fades into 'Barbarian (1/5)'
Now, it says:
Barbarian (1/5)
20 Two-Handed required
Two-Handed weapons do +20% more damage per rank. Current +20%.
Upgrade?
He decides that he should wait to see what other perks there are before upgrading Barbarian more.
Above Barbarian there is 'Energy Mastery' that says:
Energy Mastery (0/1)
20 Two-Handed, Barbarian required
Attacking with a two-handed weapon while using spirit energy will double the attack's power
Upgrade?
Daniel got the shock of his life because he knew that if he doubled his attack power, he might be able to make Vilkas stagger.
'Yes!' he screams in his mind.
The star below it shines brightly as 'Energy Mastery (0/1)' changes into 'Energy Mastery (1)'
Looking back at Barbarian, Daniel decides to upgrade it as much as he can. With a thought, the dimly shining star below it starts to burst with light. The 'Barbarian (1/5)' starts to fade into something else, but then it quickly started to fade again and again.
Slowly, the Barbarian settled into
Barbarian (5)
Two-Handed weapons do +100% damage.
His mind raced from here to there in excitement as he realized that, with energy, he could do 4 times more damage. If he did 20 originally, with the +100%, he would do 40. Double 40 and the answer is 80!
He calmed down after a few breathes and keeps looking up to the next upgrades. The constellation splits into two parts here. He looks over to the one on the left and he sees:
Spirit Hammer
50 Two-Handed, Energy Mastery
Awaken a hammer spirit or upgrade current one.
Upgrade?
Daniel has a hammer spirit that he got from his father, so he knew that this would definitely do something for him. 'Upgrade!' he thinks.
After an awkward second, Daniel's left hand started to burn fiercely. He could feel his mind under extreme pressure as his spirit upgraded.
Slowly, an image forms into Daniel's head. He sees a giant Warhammer with a long, black handle with a swirling green pattern wrapping around it. The head of the Warhammer looks like it is covered in scales with spikes at the sides and top of the head, but the very center of it is devoid of scales, which are replaced with a brightly glowing red gem that resembles a draconic eye.
(A/N: Google 'Skyrim Volendrung' to see. That's what I want his hammer to look like and I think I absolutely butchered describing it.)
Daniel opens his eyes to see a little girl in pink kicking beds yelling "Wake up, breakfast time!" or "Get out of bed, lazy bums!". This little girl is Xiao Wu
Daniel stood up from his bed way before Xiao Wu could kick him and looked around while yawning. Even though he had just stayed awake for 3 months straight, he felt like he had just slept well.
All of the kids were awake soon and they shuffled along with a teacher of the school.
She explained how spirit essence and the spirit's power are related.
"Take a spirit. Without essence, it's just a normal object. But add essence to it, and it'll transform." she says.
She turns over to two small wooden logs that a normal sword could cut with a good amount of effort and slices through it easily with a knife that she summoned. The knife had a small blue aura.
"The stronger the essence and higher quality the spirit, the stronger it will be! Hard work can make us strong, but talent also plays an important role. If somebody has a junk spirit, no matter how much essence, it will always be junk!" she says the last sentence while looking at Tang San as if she detested junk spirits.
Tang San summons his Blue Silver Grass spirit and stares at it with blank eyes.
At lunchtime, the working class students and those who came on scholarships from small villages were standing on the first floor of a two-story building.
"Carrots! Carrots! Are there any carrots in the cafeteria, fresh ones?" says Xiao Wu to a student
"Well, there aren't any on the first floor... I don't know about the second." he replies
"I wanna go up to the second floor then!" she shouts.
"The second floor is like an expensive resturaunt, so we'll only be able to afford to go up there after the school gives us our jobs."
Meanwhile, Tang San is still staring at his hand.
The boy starts to say something, but a boy trying to act posh on the second floor interupts him.
"Oh, isn't it the poor students who came on scholarships? Hehe, today's lunch is on me! You will have scraps! Heheheh!"
A bunch of people following him start laughing in an attempt to lick his boots.
"Oh," he continues. "There's a cute loli between the losers. Too bad that she's also a loser" he says as he noticies Xiao Wu. A vein throbs on her head as she attacks the 'posh' boy.
"Wanna die!?" she yells.
The boy gets suprised and instinctively yells "Shield Spirit, Defence!"
A yellow shining shield appears in front of the boy and it blocks her attack.
Suddenly, a staff spirit attacks Xiao Wu multiple times.
Just in time, Tang San jumps in front of the staff and pushes it away. He throws his blue silver grass at the attacker's eyes and quickly knocks him away.
"Say that again!" says Xiao Wu when she slaps the posh boy's face.
The posh boy and staff spirit's owner get knocked onto the ground and they stare at Xiao Wu and Tang San in fear.
"No personal fights on the campus!" interupts a young man with white hair.
He walks over to Tang San and says "You! Come to my office." and walks away.
