CHAPTER START---

Standing on the balcony of the Kazekage tower, Jin can be seen looking out over Suna, as the sun sets on the horizon he can't help but feel a bit excited at finally being able to leave the sand. As of yesterday, their mission was complete and it's now time to go home.

Noticing someone with very familiar chakra approaching, he simply ignores the person visibly while keeping tabs on their movements with his other senses.

"You never get startled when alone with me, that's always bothered me," Gaara says, his tone lighter than during the chunin exams.

"Hmm, well. It helps that I know you're trying to be a protector for your people, fighting me here isn't gonna be good for anyone hehe" Jin responds as if it were a simple joke.

"True, that would be bad. But that is why I've been assigned to you this past week. The council believes no one else can keep you in check."

"Awe, and here I thought you just really liked playing shogi with me" Jin jokes

"Hmm, it was... fun"

"Hey, whenever I have business here I'll come to visit you alright. I spend most of my time training honestly, either Mt.Myoboku with Pa or out in the forests. It feels good to have a friend that knows what it's like to get waved around like a belt to other shinobi."

"Huh?" Gaara responds, a bit confused.

"Do you really think it's a coincidence I was sent ahead of our envoy, your village is likely to do something dumb with the person who destroyed Kunigakure standing right here after all"

"Hmm, just as I was assigned to you, you were assigned to us" Gaara finally notices.

"Exactly, can't say it wasn't fun. I made a new friend at least, right Gaara"

"Hmm, friend, yes," Gaara says with a bit of hesitation.

"Good, if the sand needs me in the future, don't be afraid to ask, I'm gonna get some rest. We're leaving tomorrow after all." Jin says while taking a step off the balcony.

"Have a safe trip" Gaara mutters before turning around and heading inside.

Within his room, Jin can be seen checking around for any type of spying devices. With his suspicions put to rest, he quickly removes the large scroll from his back and unrolls it.

Taking one of the many tags off the scroll he places his hand on the scroll and forms a seal labeled "HEAT" on the massive scroll before rolling it back up.

*POOF*

A shadow clone appears and takes the tag before leaping away.

"I really hope this works, gotta remember to thank Pa again for showing me how to make those," he mutters to himself before making another clone to guard his sleeping body.

---Meanwhile, in the capital of the land of fire...

Kakashi remains crouched within the transparency jutsu across the street from Unity Trading's main office for the land of fire.

Deep into the night as the moon reaches its peak, the copy ninja makes his move. Quickly flickering across the street to the roof of the target he arrives at a locked door. With a small flourish of his hand, the locks quickly open after a thorough search for traps.

'Hmm, something feels off.'

He thinks to himself, raising his headband he takes a look around the doorframe as he slowly opens it.

'Hmm, a seal of some kind, but I don't recognize it, I suppose better safe than sorry'

Making a few hand seals he places both his palms onto the floor, black lines of kanji suddenly spread out from his palm and snake their way towards the small seal on the door, very much like shadow possession moves.

As the seal interacts, the seal on the door quickly breaks.

'Hmm, it wasn't rigged to do anything... or maybe it was so weak my seal broke it that fast. Could have been a bluff. Either way, I need to hurry'

As the copy ninja quickly enters through the stairs on the roof, he arrives on the top floor of the five-story building.

'No more chakra signatures on anything, looks like its all clear,'

As Kakashi quickly makes his way to the office and begins to read and copy files, he notices a few interesting things.

'Hmm, meeting the angel, trade talks, a ferry to the mist was chartered...a one-year Hiatus to consolidate resources before continuing expansion... why slow down then you're moving that fast?'

Quickly moving through more and more pages, strangely enough, even Kakashi doesn't notice the person approaching the office. As the door is suddenly flung open the copy ninja instinctively throws a kunai at the person. Before he could even realize his mistake, however, the blade strikes.

*POOF*

"Shadow clone, shit," He says while quickly dashing out of the building using the transparency jutsu.

'That guy snuck up me so casually and barged into the office, but nobody is pursuing me. Maybe they didn't get a good view of me, for the village's sake, I hope that's the case.' he ponders while dashing out of the capital completely.

Across the continent in Jin's temporary room, however, the young shinobi can be seen sitting on his bed with his finger on his chin as he collects his thoughts.

'The seal worked perfectly to trigger a clone there, if it was anyone else I'd of killed them but Kakashi is way too useful. I can't act on this or else they'd just sacrifice him and everything gets thrown off. He got the info I wanted him to at least. Now I just need to sit on this encounter and let Tsunade sweat a bit for this royal fuck up, giving me a perfect excuse to pull out of the land of fire and cripple it while Jiraiya and the Kyuubi aren't even here.'

Laying back onto his bed Jin can't help but let a sinister smile spread across his face as he thinks about lording this over the Hokage.

"You really did make the right more Tsuna, too bad I don't play by your stupid shinobi rules," he says before rolling over and going to bed.
