Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Worry For The Future

Panicking Keltal quickly tried to stop Yilel before she could do anything stupid. He had just lost so many of his clan's people already and he didn't want to lose anymore if possible. Especially someone as talented as her even if she would probably leave them one day at least she would be alive. Unfortunately Althea had different plans in mind for him and quickly stopped him from saying a word as she waved her hand slightly and held him in place on the side. Trying to struggle out for a couple seconds he eventually gave up knowing it was pointless. All he could do was watch on now.

"Even if you say no I still think I can be of use to you."

"Be of use to me? With such little strength I have severe doubts about that."

Inside Yilel was panicking a little bit after all the noises she had heard as she looked around the courtyard at all the blood. She knew from the screams of pain she had heard that a lot of things had happened but she was no longer that scared little girl anymore that was ignorant of the world. She had seen plenty of death by now and even killed some people herself but that didn't mean she was completely heartless to it either or had ever seen it on the same scale then what Althea had done. So while a part of her screamed danger the rest shouted to her that this was her last chance. Clenching her delicate hands she fought to find enough courage to speak. She had to find Xilo even if it killed her and so almost pleading she spoke.

"But-"

Hearing that tone, Althea's voice had a hint of severity behind it.

"But what? You're useless to me and since you have no use why should I let you help."

"One more person couldn't hurt."

"I doubt it."

"Please…"

Wincing Yilel was able to squeak that out quietly. She had one more card left in play but she wanted to save it if possible. Seeing her struggle so hard even while seemingly afraid, Althea's eye's softened a little as she was reminded of the girl that she used to be. At some point in her life she had been quite similar to her in ways. Walking slowly forward she lightly grabbed Yilel's chin and forced her to look her in the eyes and took a serious look at her. unlike some others Althea struggled with technique so she was never able to see finer details when scouting with her Astral Energy and only was able to see body outlines. While others if they were proficient in that area could see more.

"Let me ask you a simple question. Why do you want to help so badly? I assume the boy means something to you otherwise why would you even come to me."

Looking into Yilel's eyes as she asked that, she watched as many different emotions passed through her eyes as Althea came to her own understanding while she sighed a little on the inside. "Poor thing." With that she dropped her chin and backed away to let her speak.

"Simple. I want to kill him."

"But what If I want him alive?"

Althea and even Keltal who was silently listening on the side were both surprised when they heard that answer though Althea was less surprised but that just confirmed her guess. Sighing, she lightly spoke in a soothing voice as she grabbed Yilel and hugged her body.

"Haa...you poor confused child."

Unable to reply Yilel could only breath in the flowery scent that invaded her nose as a soothing calmness she hadn't felt in a long time washed over her and helped calm her down. She didn't smell like blood at all which surprised Yilel a little. As Althea held her a crafty idea started to form in her head as a gentle yet scheming smile appeared on her beautiful face. Seeing that scene and Althea's smile Keltal shivered as fear and worry washed over him. Whatever was about to unfold in the future was definitely not going to be easy for anyone but he could only sigh knowing he had no power to stop any of that,

"So let me get this straight girl. You don't really want to help me, you just want to see the boy am I correct."

"Correct."

"I see. So what if I give you a different proposal instead."

"A Different proposal? Like what."

"You can come with me if you want and I'll take you under my wing. But you won't be able to see the boy for a long time but when I do let you see him I'll give you one chance to kill the boy. If you fail though that's it. No more second chances, how's that sound?"

Taking a second to think that over Yilel wasn't exactly opposed to the idea but there was one question in her mind. "Why is she doing this?" Yilel thought Althea wanted Xilo to live but now she was giving her a chance to kill him. "What happens If I do?" Voicing her concerns she asked just to be sure.

"What happens If I kill him?"

"If you kill him....Then It just wasn't meant to be. Simple as that."

"Wasn't meant to be?"

"Nothing you need worry about for now. So what do you say?"

"Will I become as strong as him or even you one day?"

"With your talents I don't doubt it. but it'll of course depend on your effort and whether you can make it to that point alive as well."

"Then....I agree."

With that a happy smile bloomed on both their faces as both of their ideas were working in their favour.

"Ah yes I nearly forgot. My name's Althea. I hope we can get along for the years to come."

"Mine is Yilel. But I have one more piece of information you might want to know."

"That is?"

"The boy's name is Xilo. Nothing else."

"Is that so."

Besides being slightly surprised at hearing the name for the boy she was looking for she wasn't too surprised because Yilel probably gave that name to him and somewhere deep inside she recalled hearing that name before but couldn't quite remember how or when. Though she felt it fit the boy so she left it alone. "If he's okay with the name then there's nothing wrong with it." Separating herself from Yilel she was finally ready to leave and start looking for Xilo.
