Watching that rock form in mid air Xilo counted down the seconds before impact. He pushed his energy to the limits as he used every method he could think of to be able to take this hit. Ice formed around his feet to help lock him in slightly, Darkness poured into his arms, legs and his shield. His muscles tightened in the last moments as he did his all. "Show me this Strength that I chase after." Silence overfell the place as everyone waited to see who would be knocked out next. Some of the people up in the air were even writing down notes of peoples performances to recruit or get on their good side.
One of the people in the Wolf Clan was a little aways from Xilo observing him intensely as a bit of energy appeared in his hand. He was asked to cause as much trouble for Xilo as possible and with this being his limit it was time. He had impressed the crowd now to start settling grudges. "Laven should be happy." An invisible trail dripped off his fingers as he waited to fling it at Xilo. In a heartbeat Xilo felt his body's weight shift as the rock collided with the others. For a split second he managed to hold on as he held his breath, Within the time it took to blink though he felt his feet slipping further back.
"Dammit."
Barely able to gather any energy in his lungs he spawned more ice behind him trying his best to stop his momentum. Nothing worked though as the ice walls behind him shattered into dust. Not even the boost from his darkness helped and he felt his body get sent flying as something hit him in the back of the leg. "Ouch." A shock ran up his leg that caused him to go numb with pain, His shield instantly cracked without a single chance. This strength was way too much for him to take head on by himself, he instantly left the boundary as his out was called from up above. He didn't stop though as his body kept going for a couple more meters before finally stopping after sliding along the cement beneath him.
"Is Xilo okay!?"
From within the air the girls saw Xilo get flung across the arena like a ragdoll. It was far from a pretty sight and it caused them some slight worry. Xelfia did manage to calm them a bit after though once they saw Xilo moving his arms trying to push the rocks off himself. "That..." A little bit speechless he was surprised he was still in one piece as the rubble fell off his body onto the ground. Dusting himself off, he stood up with his strong leg as he watched the Twins take that hit. "Their defense is stupidly tough." He was happy his friends were still in the competition but the moment he saw the Wolf person walking away it switched to anger.
"Damn rat, I figured they'd try something."
Xilo saw the attack coming for him but he couldn't deal with both of those attacks at once and since he was going to lose anyway he wanted to try his hardest to take the hit. "Way too strong for me." With almost one hundred people left Xilo didn't even make it to his prediction. "Oh well." Trying not to beat himself up too much he walked off the stage as he met up with the girls who lowered themselves to let him on the platform. Taking a seat with them all, Xilo watched the twins intensely. He really wanted to see just how far those two could go.
"How long do you think they'll last Xilo?"
Tearia was a bit curious about what Xilo thought since he participated.
"At this rate I could see them getting first honestly."
"high praise for your friends down there eh?"
"It's deserved, they took a hit like that without flinching. Even if they're just putting up a front, they are doing an incredible job. With defenses like that I really don't want to fight them again...they've definitely improved."
"Again?"
Not commenting any further on Xelfia's questions, Xilo watched the twins' show. It was never his to begin with, this was their territory and he had just invaded for a little bit. After watching Xilo bite the dust hard Darain felt a bit nervous with the next few rocks. Him and Sarin could be knocked out any second just like everyone else. With less than a hundred people each step got more and more likely. Twisting his vines tighter together he made sure his Astral Energy was fully reinforced along with his brother. These two had been together since birth and that would never change. Even if they didn't always agree with each other they were brothers. Brushing his hair out of his face he turned to Sarin and smiled.
"So Sarin, are you hanging in well?"
"So far I am, Though if you keep losing focus you might not be able to say the same."
"Haha, don't worry about me. Instead let's make a bet, see who gets first and who gets second. Sounds like fun doesn't it?"
"Sure I'm down for that, from the looks of it most people here can't beat us and adding some flare to this sounds fun."
Seeing his brother Sarin agree, Darain's grin grew wider.
"Aight If I get first then you also give me your reward, If you get first I'll give you mine."
"Deal."
For their whole life they had always been very similar to each other in strength and they both hated getting compared to one another. People always said that they were very close but that wasn't true. The two brothers had fought hundreds of times and each time the results changed. Once a month since they were around ten years old they made a promise to fight. It had been over twelve years since they had started. Between all of those nights they stayed relatively tied.Currently it was 72 to 73 with Sarin getting the last win the last month before. If Darain won this competition though he would pull ahead once more and tie it up again. This was what was fun for them, they wanted to always one up each other and that wasn't something that would ever change.
With the next few rocks coming in they both held on very easily as they entered the final fifty people. They were also on the Thirtieth rock now which would be the strength of a Ninth Stage. Both of them had confidence to take this thanks to Zilan but everyone else here would most likely be eliminated. They were soon proven right as nearly forty people got knocked out at once leaving only ten people and only some were able to take it without much trouble. "Time for our competition to begin." With Ten people left, Sarin and Darain got ready for it as the announcer's voice rang in the air.
"With the last ten left, we'll be changing up the way it goes. Each rock will add one additional Stage of strength. Currently we're at the ninth but the next will be the Tenth and so on. Good luck to you all."
