Phineas Nigellius Black was not having a kind life. And by the feats recorded in his time at Hogwarts, he was the school's least popular Headmaster all but in name.

Pureblood supremacy? only the muggle-born hated that part... +muggle hate

Blood traitor son who supports Muggle rights? Well, disownment could cover that... +noble wizard disappointment

Became headmaster due to the help of Ministry... well some purebloods are just not that worthy... +noble wizard hate

Cancelled Quidditch due to pureblood student injury... well some action was needed to calm the parents. +students hate

GOBLIN REBELLION AND ATTACK IN SCHOOL! +Everybody's hate... and disappointment

It was easier to count who were not hating him for his shortcomings than vice versa

...

And now, he was "needed" to procure a first year himself, a mudblood no less! The audacity.

Phineas remembers how his attempt to persuade Minister Faris Spavin to change the Hogwarts admissions process to favour pure-bloods and restrict Muggle-borns was declined.

The Winzegamot made fun of him and his Noble name when his notion was rejected 5 to 140!

But things did not set right to him on the matter of this particular muggle-born.

The letter of admission was unlike the Quill of Acceptance and The Book of Admittance had ever sent away, it felt strange.

The process of admission was based on magic capability, as one would expect. The nobles already knew the procedures, as most had been Hogwarts students once, but for the muggle-born, it was like a ranking system.

They were judged by how probable it was for them to become an obscurus if left alone.

When the letter was provided to non-teaching staff, such as the squib who works as caretaker of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, means the child is of that level only, Phineas himself often encouraged to ignore those letters, marking them as refused to join and obliviated when the letter was not even provided to the child- even the Ministry spared a blind eye to this.

Then came the letters given to professors on a muggle-born behalf, which were actually required to be given to the students, as there was more than a minimal chance that they would become a danger to themselves and their surroundings. Accidental magic after the age of 11 was nothing to be scoffed at.

The letters to be provided to the deputy headmistress/master were top priority, one of them was the new first year, Albus Dumbledore, who would have needed the deputy headmistress visit for his pre-admission requirements to be fulfilled, if not for the last-minute change of guardianship, from none to a magical guardian.

But for the letter to be provided to the headmaster to meet the muggle-born student, was unprecedented.

The headmaster in question was hovering above the said child's given address, the said child was covered in rags of old cloth, which did not even resemble a shirt except for the collars.

But for once in his life, Phineas, Phineas BLACK, The Phineas Nigellus Black did not bring out the mudblood hate inside me out.

For his mind was clouding his bigoted prejudices by the thought that the child should NO, must have some hidden parentage.

"redde invisibilis

The man turned his wand with a sleight of hand towards himself and gradually turned transparent to his surroundings.

Inside the house, or shack or whatever one may call to his mind, the woman was sewing clothes from floor sack, coloured for that exact purpose post its natural use.

Phineas apparated backwards as the white blades engulfed him again, for him to wait until the man of the house came back, as he himself was not a man who would indulge in repeating the usual proceedings of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Hours passed by...

The night came but no one entered the house, except the child who had come back from playing outside. His patience was being tested and if not for the request from Hogwarts itself, he would not have wasted this much of his invaluable time here.

He brought himself to the ground for his time was too precious to be wasted,  to inquire the whereabouts himself for further talks.

Adela heard a knock on the door, surprised as no one was expected at this time, or at any time at all.

She let the food down to entertain the guest at the door, and the guest looked like an aristocrat from the Palace of Versailles.

"Miss Resly?" Resly? who was that?

"Can you call Mr. Resly for I require his presence here." For a poor woman living in a borrowed house and the person opposite looked like a Duke, she was surprisingly unfazed.

"Sir, if you are asking for my husband he is out of town, how won't be returning for another three months. Might I ask however I may be of assistance?" It was Phineas's turn to be surprised, as the demeanour of the beggar women turned no less than the best of nobles.

"Just tell me where he might be, I require his presence before the procedures follow."

"Sir, please tell me-"

"I asked for his whereabouts, Ms. Resly." Adela was sure they were in trouble. Her calm demeanour turned to a frightened one as she complied with the man in power before him.

But the next moment, white gust of winds materialized before her and made the man disappear. It was all too astounding for her as she fell to the ground, losing her consciousness.
