The next morning

Zach left lastnight, okay i basically kicked him out. He wouldn't leave, kept saying that he wanted to stay here with me. I mean i don't mind but Kayla needs him too since her parents are barely home.

"Morning!" Aria shouts as she enters the kitchen

"How'd you sleep?"

"Good." She replies before sitting down and munching on her bowl of froot loops

"Okay Aria so this is how its gonna go. Im gonna drop you off at school, and then I'll go to school. After school i'll pick you up and we'll come back home to change and freshen up, then you'll come with me to work every second day, you can do your homework there or whatever. Kayla volunteered to watch you every other day. Is that okay?"

"Awesome, how long are your shifts though?"

"Three hours."

"What am i gonna do for three whole hours?!" She asks throwing her hands in the air

"Read, study, do your homework. Come on it's just until ma comes back."

"Okay, why are you still in pajamas?"

I look down to see my grey oversized 90's joggers and my white long sleeve oversized hoodie, and my white fila disruptor sneakers.

"These are not pajamas!" I exclaim a bit annoyed

"Oh really?" Aria asks through a giggle before running out the kitchen

"Hey come here!" I exclaim running after her

Once i catch up to her i grab her and start to tickle her all over until we're both on the floor

"O-okay s-stop!" She talks between laughs

"First repeat after me. Elle you look beautiful and the clothes you have on are not pajamas, they are fashionable."

"Oh really?" I taunt

She just giggles and i help her up from the floor

"I missed you Elle." She says hugging me

"I missed you too."

"I love you too." She says before getting out the car.

I wait until i see her enter the school building and then i drive off to my school.

I enter the corridors walking to my locker, i see someone standing infront of my locker. Guess who? Yup it's Zach. He's wearing a grey short sleeve t-shirt, blach champion joggers and a pair of white air force. Dammmmn

"Morning!" I say approaching him

"I'm not talking to you." He replies not looking at me

"Oh come on Zach, just because i didn't let you stay over lastnight?"

He doesn't answer, he doesn't look up

"Zach as much as i wanted you to stay, i need to respect you aswell, you have done so nuch for me already and I'm grateful for that but you have a life too and i do-"

I get interrupted as Zach places a finger on my lips indicating for me to keep quiet

"You are my life Elle. "

I look deeply into his eyes. Listening to every word carefully 'YOU. ARE MY. LIFE. ELLE.' The way he says my name. Ahhh! Is this real?

Im about to open my mouth to talk but Zach whips me around so my back is against my locker. Woah. Zach towers over me and looks into my eyes. He leans in and i stand on my tip toes, our lips inches away from one another.

"Took you long enough!" A voice from behind Zach says

Kayla! Such bad timing!

Zach rolls his eyes before turning around to face Kayla.

"Dearest sister, you know i admire you so much but did you have to?" Zach says with a slightly annoyed tone in his voice.

"Oh come on, you guys can makeout tonight."

Zach and i don't say anything. It's takes a whole minute until it hits Kayla...

"Shit!, i forgot. What time does your shift start?" Kayla asks referring to me

"Five and ends at eight." I reply with a sigh

"How about after?" She jokes

"Cant. Aria and i are visiting ma at the hospital."

Zach just looks down at his shoes for a while then turns and looks at me.

"Urhmm... I'll see you in class." He says awkwardly and walks away.

Once he's gone, Kayla talks.

"I'm so so sorry."

"No, it's okay."

"Im such an idiot!"

"No you're not, really it's okay. I think my boyfriend will understand."

Ooops.

"Your boyfriend? My brother?, no way!"

I just smile awkwardly.

"You aren't kidding are you? You guys are dating?"

"Yuurp."

"Okay guys you can call me Chloe and I'll be your substitute teacher for this period."

I look up to see a young woman, probably like 22 years old. Wearing a black tight skirt, a white tight shirt with a black leather jacket over. Oh and heels. Her hair perfectly straightened out.

I hear a few whistles from the back of the classroom. I look beside me to see Zach watching her. A feeling of disappointment rushes over me. I look away from Zach and turn my gaze back to the front of the classroom. I shiver when i feel Zach's hand on my thigh. I look up and meet his eyes.

"I got eyes for you. Only you." He whispers

I feel my cheeks getting hot and look away so that he doesn't see. Gosh.

"Today we're gonna talk about Cancer. I know that this topic has nothing to do with your exams this term, but i just find it fascinating."

Lunch time

Zach and i walk out of our Spanish class, our hands intertwined.

I receive a few glares but i block them out. Zach pulls his phone out of his pocket, reads something and smiles.

"Is everything okay?" I ask curiously

"Amazing!" He replies before shoving his phone back into his pocket and zipping it.

Next thing i know we're running down the corridor our hands still intertwined.

"Where are we going?" I ask

"You'll see."

"The library?" I ask

"Yeah"

"I thought it's off limits this term."

"Not for us."

"We're gonna get into trouble."

"For reading?" Zach asks through a chuckle

Zach walks in and i follow him into the library.

"Woah!" I say looking around taking in everything

Zach grabs a books from a shelve and sits down on the carpet.

"What you got there?" I ask referring to his book

"The fault in our stars."

"What's it about?"

Zach just shrugs.

I walk over to him and sit down besides him.

I lay in Zach's arms, listening carefully as he reads to me. Every dramatic pause, every word. Nothing else matters its like I've forgotten about...

I jump up.

"What's wrong?" Zach asks his eyebrows furrowed

Im about to talk but i get interrupted by the school bell indicating home time.

"How?! We missed out on five periods!"

Zach just smiles

"Why are you smiling?" I ask annoyed

"As much as i wanted it to sound badass that we were breaking into our own school library, well we didn't break in. I planned it."

"What do you mean?"

"I spoke to the principal, Kayla helped me organize, i just wanted some time with you Elle. Im aware that you got a lot going on, and that you're not gonna have much time for us but i-"

"I'll always make time for us, and i promise that once ma is back home, ill make even more time. I enjoy spending time with you but i don't want you to risk your future career by skipping school and bunking classes just for me okay?"

"Okay."

"No more skipping school and classes. Promise me Zach."

"Fine. But only if you let me take you out on a date. Saturday night?"

"I'd like that."

"Let me walk you to your car."

"Thank you Zach for today." I say once we're infront of my car

"Anything for you diamond." Zach says before giving me a kiss on my forehead.

"I'll call you later." I say as i get into my car shutting the door gently.

I start the car and pull out of the parking lot and drive away

"Hey." Aria says as she gets into the passenger seat.

"How was your day?" I ask

"It was nice."

"Okay so we're gonna have some lunch and freshen up at home and then we're off too work."

"How exciting!" Aria exclaims sarcastically

"I know right?" I can be sarcastic too.

"Let's just go. Im starving."

"Alright alright."

I start the car and drive off to our house.
