Her Family Is in Danger

When Anton and Akira arrived at Graham's house, it was past noon. They should have arrived by now, so they took the liberty of placing a very subtle barrier that would keep the evil contained in one spot.

"Bring those sacks of broken metal; we need to form a circle that covers this house to keep the evil inside," Anton briefly explained to Akira, who followed his lead.

As time passed, the metal started to surround the house, and a few minutes later, Anton met up with Akira, who had completed the full circle.

"How can you tell that the evil was properly contained?" Akira was curious about how different Anton was from the rest, so she asked to start a conversation.

This question was indeed interesting. How does Anton see the world?

Everyone sees the world differently, but Anton sees options that can change according to his needs. For instance, he could now see particles of darkness floating around the house.

Still, he didn't know how to show this to Akira, and when an idea popped into his head, he asked her, "Do you really want to see my world?"

"I'm quite strong; I've seen many more things than an average person, so I'm sure it won't be a problem. I can handle it. You told me that this job is dangerous, complicated, and very mentally demanding, so I believe you so far, but I feel like I'm still not fully aware of what this kind of work really is." Akira expressed how she felt.

Despite the indifferent tone in her voice, she did her best not to show what she truly felt. By asking this, she wanted to share the same weight of responsibility and work that Anton had, even if it meant changing many things in her life.

Something had caught Akira's attention since she had met Anton, and after saying she would join her life with his, she understood that her responsibility was to be the support he needed.

"So, come closer; you'll have to close your eyes for a moment." Anton looked at Akira as she approached, so he extended his hands towards her face and placed them over her eyes.

"What are you doing right now?" Akira seemed nervous, which was very rare to see.

"I'm not sure if it will work."

The moment Anton's words faded, he used his divine energy. First, it was a hundred points, then two hundred, and finally, he used a thousand points, all focused on Akira's closed eyes.

When he knew it was enough, Anton didn't remove his hands quickly. The first thing he needed to do was instruct Akira on what she needed to do. "If it works, when you open your eyes, you'll occasionally see the world in a special way."

"Just look at me; don't look at the house."

Akira then slowly opened her eyes, and she didn't feel anything out of the ordinary. "Did my eyes at least change color?"

"I'm not that magical, but theoretically, you should have the ability to perceive paranormal presences through what is known as 'psychic eyes.' These special eyes should allow you, according to what I believe, to see and communicate with spiritual entities, which you can use in this job as an investigator." Anton wasn't sure if he could open Akira's perception the way he hoped, but it could happen.

"I think I'm seeing something." Akira looked at Anton's serious face, devoid of any emotion, and suddenly, she saw golden particles around him. These golden things danced in the air, giving him a divine appearance.

She had never seen this before; the scene was striking.

When she stepped back and looked towards the house, she also noticed how it released dark particles, just as Anton had mentioned.

A surprise could be seen on Akira's face, something that Anton noticed immediately.

"Did it work?"

"More than that, now I can see what you mentioned before." Akira affirmed this with a big smile, but just then, in the window of the second floor of the house they were in, the shadow of an old woman appeared.

Many might think she felt afraid, but it wasn't so. The feeling of strangeness she felt wasn't because of fear, but because it was the first time she truly felt involved with the supernatural.

"That woman…"

Anton turned to look at the window but found nothing strange since that entity had been hidden. He was about to say something when, suddenly, he saw two cars approaching rapidly.

"They're here; act naturally." Anton stepped aside to let these cars park.

Annie, the daughter of the deceased old woman, got out of the car looking somewhat angry and asked, "Are you the ones who called me about that debt my mother owed?"

"I wish you would calm down a bit; we're not here with ill intentions." Anton smiled calmly as he looked at the girl, who couldn't stop staring at him.

Steve, who saw this stranger looking at his daughter, asked, "What are you up to? My lawyers are analyzing the documents you sent me; is all that you're saying true?"

"As my colleague said, it's not wise to discuss something like this outside of the house. Would you allow us to come in and discuss it comfortably?" Akira insisted in a very subtle manner, which calmed the Graham family.

The way they had grabbed the attention of all members of this family was by letting them know that the deceased old woman owed a huge debt and that if they didn't settle part of it, the house they lived in would be seized.

Things went so well that there was no need to forcibly bring them in with peacekeepers, so it was perfect. Now that they had the attention of this family, it was time to talk.

When they entered the house, Anton walked straight to the living room and said, "We should all calm down a bit, so let me say it clearly, Mr. Annie, your family is in danger."
