Chapter 75 - The talk

Yunfeng gripped the phone tightly as he read the news. President F had started another debacle with the Prime Minister of Country C again, and they seemed to be serious this time.

"Oh my fucking god. Can someone just shoot this guy in the head? He is going to start a freaking world extinction!"

"Wait… if he dies, will the world progress differently?" A deeper thought came to his mind. Even though he was in the lowest position in this economy, if he could manage to take this guy out, then he would be able to save at least half of the population.

Just as that thought came to mind, he hit his head.

"Killing the president! Please, even a trained assassin finds it hard to get close to him. What can I even do?"

If he had the technology of his previous world, maybe he would have had a chance to take this stupid guy down, but right now, it was impossible.

Even so, he did not know that the death of the president was going to change the events of this world. The world might still end up in turmoil, looking at the geopolitical state the world was in.

Yunfeng sighed.

Just then, the car slowed down. A huge grated gate of the mansion stood before them. After the bodyguards verified their identities, the gate opened to reveal a huge mansion.

Even seeing it for the second time, Yunfeng couldn't help but sigh.

"Jai's family really is rich as fuck…"

The car drove through the massive garden area filled with flowers to stop a few meters away from the main house.

The bodyguards got down and opened the door for him.

Yunfeng climbed down and gazed at the huge mansion with slight awe. In his previous life, he too had a luxurious life. But due to resource availability and scarce land, they only had a small mansion. Nothing as big as this one.

"But on the downside, treading through this house is going to give me a knee ache… no thanks, I prefer our small house."

He took a step.

Three bodyguards also took a step.

One stood on each side, and one stood at the back as if they were trying to prevent him from running away.

"Oh my god,"

Yunfeng moved to the right. The bodyguards moved in sync, keeping a hand's width between them and his body.

"Look at that…" he swiftly moved back and did a small dance step.

The bodyguards all moved along with him just to make sure they didn't touch him.

"Stop breaking dancing in front of my house. You look crazy!" Jai shouted from the main door. He was wearing a simple white shirt and black pants, completely not matching the vibe of the house.

Yunfeng grinned. "They move like my shadows… this is so cool." He dashed to the front door. "Are you sure you are not trying to harvest my organs?"

"Who wants your shriveled-up organs," Jai rolled his eyes. "Come," he dragged him by his hand. "My grandpa is freaking me out, man. What the heck did you do?"

"How would I know…" Yunfeng guiltily gazed at his friend's back. He never told Jai about the future of this world. Even if he did tell him, there was a chance he would not believe it.

Jai brought him to the office room on the first floor and knocked on it softly.

"Come in," a strong voice called out.

Taking a deep breath, Jai gazed back at him. "Whatever happens, don't worry, your buddy's got your back."

"Aww, my dear bestie." He playfully pinched his cheeks.

Jai grimaced. "Ew, don't be disgusting." He opened the door and all his playfulness dropped. Like a prim and proper young man, he walked with his back straight and sat on the sofa elegantly.

Watching his character change, Yunfeng was stunned. 'Boy, who are you? What have you done to my uncouth Jai?'

"Ahem?" The old man cleared his throat. "Sorry we had to invite you on short notice. I hope your journey here was peaceful."

Yunfeng softly smiled. "It was good. The three brothers protected me well… haha…" He really did not know how to small talk with these giants. He awkwardly took a biscuit from the table and chewed on it.

"We called you here for a very important discussion. I hope you can be truthful."

Yunfeng choked on the biscuit. "Y-yes, cough, yes…"

Both Jai's grandpa and Jai's father gazed at Jai. "Why don't you play around in your room? We need to have a private talk with your friend."

"It's okay, you can talk to him with me around. He is a shy guy. He might faint from all your brooding talks." Jai smiled playfully and scooted close to Yunfeng.

But to his surprise, his best friend gazed at him and whispered, "It's better we talk alone."

Jai gave him a surprised gaze. "Really? What is going on?"

"I'll tell you later. It'll just take a few minutes." Yunfeng assured him.

Doubtfully, Jai gazed at his best friend and then at his family. "You guys better not bully him." Saying so, he left the room.

Yunfeng let out a sigh. "I know what you guys want to talk about. It's about the war, isn't it?"

Both the leaders froze. "How do you know of this? Is that why you prepared so many supplies? Is someone giving you a heads up about what's going on inside?"

Yunfeng sat up straight. "I know about the upcoming war because… I've seen it happen."
