Volume 1 - Chapter 2: Before leaving

« That's Amazing! Did I become really strong from the start?" exclaimed Sora as he saw the reward he got from his starter pack. After going through his reward, he got even more excited as he saw the Pokémon he received.

"System, please activate Professor Oak's knowledge and Team Rocket immortal physique," said Sora, as he waited for his system confirmation.

"Ok Host integrating with Professor Oak's knowledge and Team Rocket immortal physique in 3, 2, 1…."

Sora closed his eyes as a wave of knowledge went through his brain as he fell into a deep sleep. He was currently living through as Professor Oak as he experience his life as a trainer and Pokémon researcher.

He sat there alone on his couch for the next hours as he digested all the knowledge from the very popular professor Oak. This is not something the current Sora could receive all that influx of knowledge in one breath.

Fortunately, the Team Rocket immortal physique was also merging his own physique at the same time.

Sora woke up in a daze as he instinctively pulled out his phone. He looked up and saw that five hours went past by.

"As expected of Professor Oak's memory. No wonder he could become a Pokémon researcher at his level, or the first Champion of Kanto. He had a lot of experience when he was young and that Celebi was something huh." said Sora as he scratched his chin in wonder.

He didn't expect to experience everything Oak did from his young age to today. All of his struggle and joy.

He promised himself to use this knowledge and future to promote the friendship of Pokémon and Humans.

"AH!"

"How could I forget about them??? Lord Arceus have mercy, I sinned," shouted Sora as he quickly opened his system to retrieve something important for it.

Umbreon and Espeon were his favorite Pokémon back in his old world. He liked Pokémon Colosseum to have those two as starter Pokémon.

He didn't waste anymore time as he took out both Poke balls from the system inventory as he summoned them with the Poke ball.

Both Poke balls grew as it spit out a red light with two figures in each light. The first to come out was Umbreon, which has a sleek, black body with four slender legs and crimson eyes. It has two pairs of pointed teeth (one in the upper jaw and one in the lower jaw), which are visible when its mouth is open. It has long, pointed ears and a bushy tail, each with a blue band around them. Its forehead and legs have blue rings on them.

The second to come out was obviously Espeon, a quadrupedal mammalian Pokémon with slender legs and dainty paws. It is covered in fine lilac fur. Its ears are large, and it has purple eyes with white pupils. There are tufts of fur near its eyes, and a small, red gem embedded in its forehead. It also has a thin, forked tail.

Espeon and Umbreon were both confused before their eyes widened in joy as they saw Sora's appearance. They tackled Sora on the floor in joy as nuzzled in his arm with their soft cry from time to time.

"Ha ha ha, nice to see you guys! Let's become the best Pokémon trainer ever." Cried Sora in joy as he hugged back his Espeon and Umbreon.

He finally had his own Pokémon and not to have to envy those rich kids at school.

"Espeon!"

"Umbreon!"

Both Pokémon cried in affirmation as they trusted their new trainer a lot. They stayed on the floor as they enjoyed the company in a relaxed manner.

Unfortunately, Sora had to break this peaceful relaxation, as he had to prepare for tomorrow's exploration in Ginza's secret realm. He hugged both of his Pokemon as he stood up from the floor. Sora watched his Pokémon as they stared back.

Sora suddenly thought of something as he dropped Espeon and Umbreon on the couch near him. They pouted as they Sora leave them on the couch.

They expressed their dissatisfaction, as Sora could only laugh awkwardly in response. "Don't be like that, guys. I'm taking out Poke blocks for you guys as you guys should be hungry, right?" said Sora as they suddenly stood straight as both Pokémon nodded at Sora quickly.

"Haha, that's what I thought. Let me take them out." Said Sora as he retrieved the Pokéblock Case and fortunately the system was kind enough to include some Pokéblock inside. Sora took out some of them as he fed them.

Espeon and Umbreon left a sigh of contentment as they sat with a relaxed face. Sora looked at their smiling face with a smile. He loved Pokémon a lot in his old world and to interact with them now is a blessing.

Sora suddenly thought of something as he opened his system, as he mentally called it.

"Yes, Host?"

"I forgot to ask, but what is your function?" said Sora, as he completely forgot about his system when he received his gift.

"No problem, Host."

"The function of the system is very simple, divided into three functions: 1- Battle system, 2-Roulette and Task"

"First, The [Battle System]: All the Pokemon owned by the Host can gain experience and level up through battles. The host can check the stats of his Pokémon."

"Second, The [Roulette]: The function of the roulette is just like the name. It will draw all kinds of Pokémon items related to it and it doesn't include Pokémon. It costs Poke Dollars, which is also the general currency made by the Pokémon Alliance."

"Third, The [Task]: As you can see from the name, this is the quest function. It can release quests from time to time. The quest rewards include everything, including Pokémon eggs! The quest can be accepted or rejected! There is no penalty! The are task is only here to speed up the host journey."

Sora whistled as he saw his system function. They were simple and easy to use and won't have to hurt his head to use it. The roulette function attracted sora as he accessed, driven by his curiosity. Sora can't be anymore familiar with the concept of gacha in his old world. He always envied those whales that could draw as much as they wanted.

Sora suddenly sucked a breath of air as soon as he saw the price for rolling the roulette.

"DAMN, black-hearted system, what kind of price is that???" shouted Sora in surprise as he saw the magnificent price of 100,000 P for one draw and 1,000,000 P for ten draws.

Currently, his fortune wasn't much, even with the negligible sum of money he earned through his post on the forum. He currently has over 1,000,000 P in his bank account. Sora closed his system in anger as he decide to ignore it for now.

No way, the current Sora is just a poor man.

Sora suddenly thought of something as he took out both Poke balls from his belt as he expressed his sudden action at his duo, who were confused. "I need to see someone before preparing myself, so do you guys want to wait here or come with me but within the poke ball?" asked Sora as he watched them in silence.

Espeon and Umbreon looked at each other as they nodded before entering the Poke ball by themselves by clicking the button.

Sora was surprised but soon smiled as he looked at his two Poke balls. "Please take care of me, Umbreon and Espeon." Said Sora as both Poke balls shook from Sora's hand. His smile could only widen from this small action.

Sora took out his phone as he texted the friend he needed to talk before leaving. He soon received a message as his phone notification went off. Sora looked at the message as he took out a coat before leaving his apartment.

"Knock, Knock"

"It's Open," said a young woman as Sora opened the door as he heard the familiar voice.

"Excuse me," said Sora as he took off his shoes as he put on slippers as he went toward the living room.

As soon as he entered the room, Sora saw a beautiful woman sitting on the couch with a lazy vibe about her. He saw a small Pokémon beside her that Sora couldn't be anymore familiar with.

"Hey, Combusken, how are you? Here, take some food I recently made!" said Sora as he stroked the head of this chicken-like Pokémon. Sora gave him some Poke block he took out before coming inside the house.

Combusken: ヽ(´▽`)/

Sora couldn't help laughing as he saw the cheerful expression of this Pokémon.

"Hey, hey aren't you too much? Not even talking to the owner of the house first? My cute little junior." Said a young girl with dissatisfaction voice as Sora turned his head toward the voice.

"Hey, Senpai, I'm here like you asked." Said Sora with a smile that irritated the young woman.

"You! Sigh I told you can call me Shizuka in private you know…" said Shizuka as she pouted at Sora.

"You are so cute, Hiratsuka senpai."

"You!"

"Ha ha ha"

"Never mind… just sit down next to me."

"Sure senpai."
