T.T ----- In ancient times, the ancient world Elantra was silently going about her business, passing her days leisurely. Alas, she was discovered by the gluttonous Covetians who accidentally discovered a weird wormhole which led to this mysterious space with weird space-time laws. During their brief stay of 20,000 years, her native lifeforms were enslaved and herded like livestock. During those 20,000 years, she was forced to the brink of destruction. Rather break than bend, she resolved herself and self-destructed with the intent of burying all the vicious intruders. During her attempt, the planetary seeds were scattered into different pocket dimensions, awaiting the day they would be reunited. ... Follow Alfred Gibbs, a fellow who died as unlucky as he lived. An unfortunate soul who died from the latest pandemic in Toronto. As he by his only chance of luck, was transmigrated to planet Rivellus, one of the many seed worlds belonging to the distant and dormant Elantra. Will he battle his way to supremacy during the advent of the Parallel Games? Or will he succumb to the will of the world and have his soul assimilated because of his status as an outsider?

His First Taste of High-Grade Gear

After finishing his business in the washroom, Alfred finally felt at ease. So he took a peek at what sort of good stuff his old man would delegate a top soldier to escort.

He entered the passcode that the female officer told him before she left, and the package opened with a click, revealing some fancy sky-blue-looking outfit inside.

Alfred eagerly unpacked the box and saw a brand new set of body armour.

The set was complete with a cuirass, leggings, boots, a pair of gloves, and a tactical belt equipped with various mechanical compartments for the quick storing and retrieving of small items. Alfred searched for a while, but he, unfortunately, did not find what he was looking for.

Such a suit of armour was indeed great. But, missing from the set was the most important piece; a helmet. Isn't he going out to train? Isn't his cruel Papi going to force him to fight wild beasts? So where was the head protection? His excitement instantly died.

He reached his hand to touch his com-link but decided to wait until he finished his daily training tomorrow before finding something usable.

Alfred calmed himself once more and started inspecting the stats of his new gear.

[Name: Son of Kui Battle Armour]

[Type: Cuirass (Armour)]

[Grade: Black(+) (Ordinary)]

[Properties: HP +200, DEF +250, STR +8, VIT +8, END +5]

[Durability: 190/190]

[Description: An armour made with protecting the future generation in mind. It was made from high-quality materials, but it was made in a rush, so the quality is a lot worse than it should be. Made from the skin on the back of a stage 5 Longhorn Kui, and embellished with natural dye to grant its exotic visage. This is one highly defensive, flexible, and fashionable work of art]

[Remark: Very fashionable. Highly defensive. But a classic waste of materials]

---

'Woah! I could probably kill a stage 1 Wild Beast just by wearing this alone!' Alfred was shocked.

...

[Keep dreaming]

[Stage 1 Wild Beast and stage 1 Molding Realm humans are stronger than you think]

[Don't let your baby fights with Xavier fool you. You are both still ordinary people]

...

He didn't think he would see such a high-grade item so soon. Going by the system's evaluation, the stats on this cuirass was at least triple that of the Swimming Dragon, Diving Crane Rope from earlier. Not only its stats, but it also looked quite impressive.

The rich sky blue colour gave it a regal feeling, and it had two golden stripes across the chest in the shape of an "X", while the back had a golden Sun pattern emblazoned below the neck area. Clearly, his father remembered his request for this logo on his yacht.

'That's odd. Why are they still the same grade? And why do they have (Ordinary) behind their grade?' Alfred was confused by the grading of the system.

...

[It's a higher grade black gear by this world's standards, but it hasn't quite reached the silver grade yet]

[It's ordinary because it's made by amateurs who can't fully bring out the true value of the materials]

...

'Then, what are the grades above black? And since you say that ordinary gear are made by amateurs, then what are the other categories of gear?' Alfred perked up his ears, listening intently.

...

[As you've seen, by this world's standards, there are; white, blue, and black gear. Above those, are silver, gold, diamond, and star. I am unsure if this world has higher grade gear, but if you want to see them, then unlock the shop]

[Amateurs use natural materials to make failed items like the one in your hands. Above this category are technological gear, like that fancy red battle suit your father wears

This is of course why I disapprove of the host relying on such items, as their performance ratio will far outstrip the host, as they are simply too easy to use, like guns and missiles, etc. Almost brainless]

[Of course, there is another category of gear called Artifacts. They are generally made by runic craftsmen, and you can also receive them from system missions or purchase them from the system's shop. That Swimming Dragon, Diving Crane Rope was almost turned into an artifact by its creator. Unfortunately, they likely lacked the necessary techniques to take that final step]

...

'Oh...', Alfred now understood the grades and the system's pessimistic views on the mechanical and technological items.

But, it didn't mean that he had lost his desire to wield big guns and pilot Mechs. A dream can never be shattered by a few words.

...

Alfred sifted through the rest of his gear.

[Description: An armour made with protecting the future generation in mind. It was made from high-quality materials, but it was made in a rush, so the quality is a lot worse than it should be. Made from the skin on the abdomen of a stage 5 Longhorn Kui, and embellished with natural dye to grant its exotic visage. This is one highly defensive, flexible, and fashionable work of art]

[Remark: Very fashionable. Highly defensive. Quite flexible. But a classic waste of materials]

[Name: Lord Kui's Digits (Left)]

[Type: Glove (Armour)]

[Grade: Silver (Ordinary)]

[Properties: DEF +20, STR +10, DEX +15]

[Set Bonus: STR + 15, DEX +30, AGI +10 (Digits for caressing)]

[Durability: 240/240]

[Description: A glove made to boost the user's strength and flexibility. It was made from high-quality materials, but it was made in a rush, so the quality is a lot worse than it should be. Made from the skin around the arse of a stage 5 Longhorn Kui, and embellished with natural dye to grant its exotic visage. The strength boost is quite obvious, and the flexibility and texture are quite supple. Equipping this item in conjunction with its counterpart will lead to resonance]

[Remark: Very fashionable. Nice stats boost. A less obvious waste of materials]

---

After seeing such an exquisite and fine glove, Alfred felt his heart racing. The base stats of the item weren't that different when compared to the other black-grade equipment he had. But when put together with that "set Bonus" feature, the quality rose an entire grade.

He took his eyes off the left glove and grabbed the other one, seeing its stats floating in front of his eyes

[Set Bonus: STR + 15, DEX +30, AGI +10 (Digits for caressing)]

[Durability: 240/240]

The gloves were almost identical. They were both sky blue with a single gold stripe diagonally on the back. They were as thin as silk and smooth to the touch. They weighed a mere few grams, which was basically nothing. If they didn't have such an obvious colour, they could almost be his second skin.

Alfred wanted to try them on immediately, as his heart was eagerly beating in excitement. But he still had enough willpower to calm himself and check out the rest. Wouldn't it feel even better to wear all of them in one go?

[Name: Stampede Of Kui]

[Grade: Black(++) (Artifact)]

[Properties: SPD +4.0, DEF +40, AGI +15, STR +5, END +5]

[Durability: 185/185]

[Description: A pair of leather boots that transcends the realm of ordinary, leaping into the category of artifacts. It was made from high-quality materials, but it was made in a rush, so the quality is a lot worse than it should be. Made from the skin on the legs of a stage 5 Longhorn Kui, and embellished with natural dye to grant its exotic visage. This piece of armour retained the wild nature of Lord Kui when it was still alive]

[Remark: Very fashionable. Highly flexible. Well made. A pity about the low quality]

A bit difficult, but I managed.

My naming sense might suck xD.
