Chapter 18: Testing Strength

(3rd person pov)

After making that promise to himself Xander continued to improve and level up.

Xander started to level up as much as he could, and when he was satisfied he finally took a two-day break since he kept playing every day for 9-12 hours with almost no break other than eating breakfast, dinner, and when he went to sleep.

During the two days he took off he caught up on some sleep that he missed out on, and then continued to play the violin, or guitar in his free time, he even found some time to do some light sketching.

After the two days of a brake he had taken, he went to a more normal schedule that he would be able to get used to.

This schedule would be to wake up from 6:30 am to 7:30 am, then do the daily necessities, and then if he wanted to draw or play the violin or guitar it would keep him busy until 10:45 am to 11:45 am depending on what he was doing.

Finally, to end his day he would play until 11:15 pm, if he needed to go grocery shopping he would leave the house around 6 pm and be back as fast as he could.

While this schedule may have not been the healthiest way to live, it was how he did it for the next two years of his life and he would probably stick to this schedule until he went into the new world.

(Xander pov)

Wandering deep into Niflheim I could hear all kinds of monster's going on a rampage, and in the distance, I could see a huge wyvern fighting against a giant.

While I have defeated multiple different types of wyverns within the past two years of playing YGGDRASIL I still wanted to go and defeat this one since it was the closest one to being a dragon

I learned early on that monsters can be forced to evolve into something more powerful, or they can naturally evolve.

So a Drake can evolve into a wyvern then with enough time and experience it can evolve into a dragon. The type of dragon it evolves into depends on the environment. There is also a small chance of it evolving into a hydra though it would be highly unlikely.

For instance, if a wyvern were in Helheim it could evolve into either a fire dragon or into an undead dragon, though it would be rare for an undead dragon to appear.

Since this wyvern was already fighting something I decided to wait and see if after defeating the giant it would evolve into a dragon or not.

Even if it does evolve into being a dragon it wouldn't be nearly as powerful as the one I found in that cave, the reason being that it would have just gotten this new power while the other one has had it for quite a while.

In about 15 minutes of my waiting the wyvern finally defeated the giant and after it did it hurriedly looked around to find something.

When it found what it was looking for it started to sprint towards it, seeing it run somewhere I started to chase after thinking that it may have sensed me.

Soon after closing the distance between us, I realized that it couldn't since me, and then I remembered what my classes were.

Remembering what my classes were I facepalmed myself thinking about how stupid I was. I thought to myself " You know I thought that getting a good ability to learn would make me not forget stuff so easily, but I guess I was wrong."

Running up a nearby tree I saw what the huge wyvern was running towards. The Wyvern was running towards a huge cave that was nearby

Seeing the cave I thought that It may end up going there and trying to evolve into a dragon.

Staying on the tree I decided to just watch it from afar and let it try and evolve by itself.

Reaching the cave the wyvern went on a small rampage while in the cave, seeing it going on the rampage reminded me of the time that I went on a rampage.

(Flashback - 1 Year ago)

[Your special racial class Vampire progenitor level up]

Laying down from exhaustion I push my hand towards the sky since I finally leveled up my progenitor class. In over a year I have only gotten my class up two ranks now.

"Why is this racial class so stupidly hard to level up compared to all the other ones I have, the worst part is that it's only going to get harder with these last few levels," I said complaining to myself.

Resting on the ground for a few minutes I finally decided that it was time for me to get up and do something else.

Standing up and patting all the dirt off all of my clothes I started to think to myself. "Now that I think about it I am curious what kind of rampage I would go on without drinking blood. Since I have always drank the blood from the monsters I've killed, I have never had to worry about going on a rampage."

Thinking that I wanna try and see what kind of damage I would go on I decided that I should stop drinking the blood of monsters for a while.

(Three days later)

[Notification]

User: Zero Alucrad

Should seek out and drink some sort of blood within 15 minutes or else the player will go into a rampage state.

This rampage state will last until the player is satisfied with drinking blood.

============================================================

Seeing this notification I gave a silent cheer for accomplishing the task that I had set for myself.

"Finally after a total of 38 hours of playing and not drinking I can see what kind of destruction will be caused by my ramage," I said to myself in a whisper.

Thinking about it for about 5 minutes I decided that I should go deeper into Niflheim since I didn't know how much chaos I would cause.

Closer to the center I felt better since I wouldn't know the amount of damage I would possibly cause, and I knew for a fact that the monsters near here were pretty strong and wouldn't go too far from this area.

The reason being that the farther you go into Niflheim the more mana would be gathered in it, and the stronger monsters love this kind of area and would do anything to protect it.

While they were strong I knew that they could never kill me off even in a rampage state, and that at most a few of them would team up to try to push me back.

Sitting on a tree stump I found nearby I closed my eyes and waited for the remaining minutes to pass by.

Didn't consume any blood to keep him from going into a temporary rampaged state.

Temperary rampage state will now take over and the user will have no control over their body, and will only regain control after consuming enough blood.

============================================================

Soon after getting that notification, I noticed that my vision started to turn red with a mixture of black.

With the red and black mixture covering my eyes, I soon fell into a state that felt like I was in a state of Sleep paralysis with a blindfold covering my eyes.

I could still hear and feel everything. I just lost total control of my body and lost track of time so I couldn't tell you how long it lasted.

Has consumed enough blood and will now leave the temporary rampage.

(Warning)

The more often you go into a rampage state, the worse things will happen, and the user will be in a rampage state for longer.

============================================================

Getting out of the rampage state I could feel a pressure leaving me, and the black and redness that covered my eyes disappeared.

Looking around to see what kind of damage had happened I noticed that the area was completely devastated.

There were a couple of monster bodies that were strung around and they were, two small wyverns, 3 scout giants, and countless ice golems strung around.

Looking down at my clothes I noticed that my shirt was torn off and the pants I once wore were now shorts.

Seeing the devastation around me I said "Yeah, I should probably never let this happen ever again."

Going toward the wyvern I patted them on the head and said "I'm sorry you had to be part of my experiment, but it was necessary and I thank you for your sacrifice."

After saying that I made sure to drink their blood until I was full and gathered whatever material I could acquire from them.

When I got everything I could from the wyverns and the giants I decided to give them a proper burial since if I hadn't tested this they wouldn't have died.

(flash back end)

Remembering what happened I felt a shiver go down my spine "I can't believe I caused that much devastation, after all, I wasn't even max level yet. I can't even imagine what kind of damage I would cause now."

Shaking my head to get out of my thoughts I looked towards the wyvern and saw that he was done going on his rampage and then he laid down to shed its skin and possibly evolve.
