Silver Death

A decade ago, Luka Murdoch's life was plunged into hell. He had lost his home and his family. However, there was something else Luka lost he wasn't aware of.

A man arrived at the port of a certain island in the New World in the night. He was dressed in jeans, black cowboy boots, and a leather jacket with the World Government symbol on the back. The man calmly looked around before walking. He entered the town that was ablaze without hesitation. He walked past the blazing buildings and people without any reaction. Buildings collapsed around him, yet he continued to venture deeper into the town. He walked until he reached a structure in the center of the town. It was a silver sculpture of a serpent. The light from the flames lit up the sculpture as he looked at it. 

"How pretty." 

The man spoke with a small smile. The sculpture started to move as if in response. 

"Rahhhh!" 

It let out a monstrous roar that shook the burning buildings. The man remained unimpressed in the face of the roar. 

"Do you want to play?" 

The serpent rushed at him. The man leaped out of the way with a grin. 

"Alright, let's play." 

The man kicked the serpent into the air and leaped after it. The serpent's head multiplied. It fired blasts of hot mercury at him. His hand blackened as he swung it. The mercury was cut apart along with the serpent's heads. The serpent heads split apart into hundreds of smaller snakes. 

"Oh? What quick thinking." 

The man landed on the ground and watched as the snakes fell towards him. The snakes started glowing as they were a few meters away. The snakes exploded causing a chain of explosions. 

"Hahahaha!" 

The man laughed as he flew out of the explosions. 

"This is pretty fun!" 

He backpedaled and flipped to narrowly stay outside the range of the explosions. His feet touched the ground and countless silver spikes erected from the earth. He coated his feet in haki. He was raised off the ground as the spikes couldn't hurt him. 

*Bam* 

The earth cracked open and countless serpents flew at him. They fired silver blades from their mouths. 

"Not bad." 

He evaded the flying blades while dancing on the spikes. He pulled two guns from his jacket and opened fire. He shot down the snakes with a smile on his face. 

"RAAAAHHH!" 

A giant silver beast emerged from the ground behind him. The man focused his eyes. He was looking past the beast's shell and saw inside. There was the silhouette of a child in the center of the beast. 

"I see." 

He put away his guns and avoided an attack from the beast's claws. He lifted his fist and clenched it. 

"I wanted to play more but I'm on a schedule." 

Sparks emitted from his fist. 

"Judicial Arts...." 

He vanished and popped up in front of the beast. 

"Judgement Impact." 

He slammed his fist on the space in front of the beast. Shockwaves spread out and hit the beast. The shockwave dug up the earth, shook the air, and destroyed buildings. The beast was blown away and torn to pieces. When everything settled a silver-haired boy lay in a crater. 

"So this is the Silver Death's true appearance." 

The man stood over the boy and took out a miniature Snail Transponder. 

"El Verdugo, do you wish to report anything?" 

A voice came from the Snail Transponder.

"Yo, Guernica. Remember that Silver Death person you told me about? You know, the one that's been wreaking havoc on random islands in the New World? I want you guys to know I've decided to capture it." 

"El Nino." 

"Sup?" 

"Let El Verdugo, Felix, or La Parca do the talking." 

"Why? I'm the one who captured it." 

"Because you tend to overlook details when reporting." 

"That's not....La Parca speaking." 

"Please report what happened." 

"On our way back from Mariejois, we heard the island of Icardi was under attack by pirates. The pirates were destroyed by something that ended up wrecking the island in the process. It matched the description of Silver Death, so I used my authority to check it out and deal with it." 

"I see. Then what are your intentions for it? Will you dispose of it?" 

"It showed some interesting abilities and potential, so we decided to take it back to Bounty Island. It will be raised as a weapon for the World Government like the rest of the orphans. We want you to report this to the Five Elders." 

"The World Government would prefer for it to be sent to Vegapunk to be studied." 

"Denied. We've already made our decision." 

"......" 

"Does CP0 have a problem?" 

"None. CP- can do as they want. After all, your actions will always benefit the world." 

"Good." 

The man cut the call and looked at the kid on the ground. 

"Felix, you're up." 

The man whispered and his whole demeanor changed. 

"Alright." 

He stooped down and slapped the child. He continued until the child woke up. 

"Y-You damn dirty pirates!" 

Mercury started flowing out of his body. 

"Two Judicial Points." 

Felix thrust his fingertips into Luka's sides. The mercury stopped and he slumped on the ground. 

"Alright, kid. Tell me about yourself." 

After some resistance, Felix obtained the information he wanted from Luka. 

"So a victim of piracy who obtained great power." 

He sat on a broken wall writing in a notepad. 

"He moves from island to island in search of a new home. However, pirates would always visit those islands. Seeing them would send him into a frenzy and he would try to kill the pirates whether they were hostile or not. He would lose himself in his rage and turn into that silver serpent earlier, Silver Death." 

He narrated his thoughts as he wrote them. 

"From my questioning, it seems he doesn't have any memory of when he's Silver Death and always blames the islands' destruction on pirates. Because of this, he believes he's being followed, which causes Silver Death to subconsciously leave messages to feed the narrative he created for himself." 

Felix frowned as he rested the pen against his lips. 

"In the reports, Silver Death has killed countless innocents with its rampages. The friends and family he said he made on the other islands.... It's likely he killed them himself and put the blame on the pirates. If he ever comes to realize the truth, his mind will most likely crumble and he'll turn into Silver Death permanently." 

He looked at the dazed Luka and jumped off the wall. 

"His potential is great. If his mind is whole, he could learn to tap into that potential. However, he won't be as strong as he would be if he had stayed as Silver Death." 

He walked over to Luka and took out a pocket watch. 

"Let's seal his memories for the time being and bring him back to Bounty Island. I'll raise him into a great warrior and possible successor to CP-. If that fails, then we'll unseal his memories to turn him into the weapon known as Silver Death. Either way, I have nothing to lose." 

Present time. "Felix" was underground observing Luka who was facing everybody else. 

"Too bad things turn out this way. Now I have to go with Plan B and undo part of the hypnotism. With him becoming Silver Death again, Luka should be quite a monster to deal with." 

He showed a small smile. 

"We might have to give him a new name after this." 

"Luka? What's wrong?" 

Caria approached Luka. His body flickered. Caria felt her body being pulled away. Luka appeared where she was, thrusting his glaive. 

*Bam* 

Strong gusts spread from his movements. Caria and the others looked at Luka in shock. 

"I don't know what's going on..." 

Caria looked at Hancock who was holding her by her collar. She wore a furious expression. 

"However, I know this boy is now our enemy. Right, Silver Kid?" 

Luka looked at her with dull eyes before showing a demonic grin. 

"Death to all pirates."
