Chapter 35 Nukes

Augustus stood there for about 10 minutes in his thoughts before he closed the portal and created another one for Tony.

The noise of his battle had now quieted, so Augustus assumed it had concluded.

As he stepped through the portal into the Skull Dome, Augustus noticed the many craters, cracks, and dust everywhere, making visibility an issue, but Augustus simply used his Observation Haki and understood the situation.

King and Queen had been defeated; Tony was injured and was currently sitting in a corner resting his tired body.

Augustus stepped through the dust and quickly arrived toward Tony.

"We will scrap the Nuclear Bombs plan," Augustus said as he looked at Tony, who was sitting there with a few streaks of blood flowing down the side of his head and his armor banged up."

"Why?" Tony asked, ignoring the pain in his body.

"Although it's easy to win, we are not monsters," Augustus said.

Artorias had truly managed to get through to Augustus.

"We will become the best, not through a path of destruction," Augustus said, causing a relaxed smile to appear on Tony's face.

"Well, that's good," he said as he closed his eyes. "If you don't mind, I'd like to sleep a bit," Tony said as he shut his eyes and stopped moving.

"?!"

Augustus used his Observation to see if Tony was alive, and to his relief, Tony was still alive and was truly resting.

Augustus sighed to himself and sat close by.

He wasn't going to carry Tony out of here, yet he couldn't leave Tony defenseless as eventually, some Beast pirates would come to see what the hell happened.

At this time, the AI in Tony's suit had long transferred Augustus's command of not using the Nukes to Vegapunk along with Augustus' words.

Vegapunk sat there in his laboratory as he looked at these 10 weapons of mass destruction quietly just sitting there on the shelf.

It had crossed his mind that what he was using to develop was far too dangerous to exist, but his impulse curiosity overpowered that by a large margin.

But now he sat there with his mind clear.

"This shouldn't exist... but it does," Vegapunk said as he wondered if he should decommission these weapons, but he simply could not bring himself to do that to his creation.

He shook his head as he stood up and walked out of the door that housed these Nukes.

As he was about to leave, he bumped into a tall man wearing white, with brown hair, thin glasses, and eyes that looked peaceful.

"Who are you?" Vegapunk said as he jumped back and reached for a button placed on his side for emergencies like this.

"I am Sosuke Aizen," he said innocently.

"I was asked by His Majesty to familiarize myself with the kingdom and its power to form a strategic plan."

"Oh... Well, there is nothing to look at here; His Majesty said he doesn't want to use pure destruction as a way to rise to power," Vegapunk said, warming up to Aizen a little.

"You seem relieved," Aizen said, causing Vegapunk to chuckle a little.

"Yes, I am a little relieved His Majesty decided against pure destruction," Vegapunk said.

"Hmm, I too am relieved to hear this decision of His Majesty," Aizen said.

"Well, could you show me around here and tell me a little of the things you have been building?" Aizen asked with a smile, a smile that Vegapunk simply felt bad telling no to.

"Sure," Vegapunk replied.
