Ch 9 : Under the sunset

- Later, Nojiko and Nami's house -

After the event with the marines earlier in the day, the house was now empty.

However, the orange grooves next to the house were destroyed.

Everything was perfect, like what happened in the anime, except for one thing.

Because of Rei, Nojiko was not injured, and now she had gone with Genzo to convince the villagers to stop rebelling against Arlong.

Sitting alone in the destroyed orange grooves, Rei began to question himself.

Back then, when the corrupted navy came, Rei actually had the chance to use Thundara, but because he was being held back by Nojiko, he didn't really know whether he should do it or not, making him miss the chance to sue Thundara.

Now everything that Nami worked on so far had been gone, and Rei began to have a question on his mind.

Was he meddling in this affair a good thing?

If everything went perfectly, the navy should only come here after Luffy arrived, and Luffy would solve the marine.

But now, Luffy had not come yet, but Nami had already pushed to the corner.

His initial means was to finish the mission and then leave, as he didn't want to make that much of a mess of the story.

Not gonna lie, he pretty much like Luffy and the others, and if he could, he really didn't want to take their chances away.

While Rei was still lost in the path of life, a figure appeared to his side.

With beautiful orange hair that looked like the sunset and watery eyes that could even charm a kingdom, she opened her mouth:

" Rei, can I sit here?"

Without waiting for Rei's response, Nami already took a seat next to him and leaned on Rei.

" Rei, you like me, right?"

" ??? "

" If that's the case, can you give me the one hundred million belis first..."

When she said these words, Nami's expression was a bit dodgy, but she still steeled herself to say it.

" ??? "

" At first, when you said that you would defeat Arlong, I have always treated it as nothing more than a joke. Arlong was way too strong, and there's no way you could defeat him. I must be a coward to think like that, right? But now, I'm just too afraid to lose you. Rei, what should I do?

Rei was confused by Nami's question.

It should be a happy occasion for Rei as it was his first time being kissed by a beautiful woman like Nami, But for some reason, words just didn't want to come out from Rei's mouth.

Nami saw this and mistook it as Rei didn't want to buy her. In her desperation, she began to take off her top and gave Rei some service.

" Look Rei, I will even do anything you want, I know I might not be worth it, but please Rei. Please..."

Her voice was getting lower and lower, and in the end, only sobbing could be heard from her.

" Rei.. everything will be okay.. Everything will be okay, right? I just need to redo it again, and this time in a more secure place, so everything would be fine. Everything would be okay right, Rei? Please tell me that everything will be okay, Rei!"

Nami began to cry.

Under the beautiful orange sky, Nami was crying.

In front of everyone else, she had always tried her best to look strong, but in front of Rei, she felt like she could be her true self, and it was also the reason why she was looking for Rei at this time.

Rei watched Nami become like this, and his heart felt pained. Under no one's gaze, he pulled Nami to his embrace as Rei started to pacify the crying Nami.

" It's okay Nami.. Everything will be fine! You are strong, Nami!"

Nami still crying, but under Rei's arms, she felt a lot better.

She shifted her gaze up, and the two began to kiss once more.

But this time, it was a real kiss, and the two could feel that they now had crossed the line.

Before, they always mistook this feeling as only lust or need, but only now did they know that they already had each other in their heart.

A full minute later, Nami pulled off her lips, and a bridge of Salive was tangling from their mouth.

" Rei, I don't know how long it takes, but you will accompany me, right?"

It was a very sweet sound, but unfortunately for Nami, the answer to this question was not what she expected.

" No!"

" !!! "

She was shocked.

Was this man about to betray her again.

Nami suddenly felt all her energy was lost.

She tried her best to stand up, but a hand was holding her and pulled her back to his embrace.

" Why.."

" Stupid, I haven't finished my words yet. I said no because you don't need to be worried about this matter anymore. I will finish it now for you!"

" ??? "

Under the night sky, Nami was confused.

But in the end, she could only put her trust in the man that had captivated both her body and heart.

And as for Rei, he finally found his determination to move forward.

Fuck the main plot, fuck fluffy and fuck everything. He now no longer an inhabitant on earth, and he must do everything he could to survive and protect the one dear enough for him.
