Chapter 85: The World Is About To Enter A New Era I

...........

Yovan let out a chuckle of amusement as things turned a bit too bright to the point that almost everyone on the Ship had to close their eyes, but that didn't save them from the burning heat.

"Then remember my name... Apollo."

Smoker, the Marine Captain in charge of the Ship acted instantly as he transformed into smoke, literally.

The Smoke spread around and turned solid as a giant hand of golden flames fell on the Ship, effortlessly going through the smoke to utterly decimate the main deck.

Smoker didn't expect the enemy to be so decisive. He expected a little bit of negotiation. In fact, he was trying to stall for time because the Marine higher-ups were already informed.

However, Yovan gave him no chance as he appeared before the cluster of smoke, bringing his Hardened leg down upon it.

What he was using was Armament Haki, a form of Haki that can be used to injure Devil Fruit users that are otherwise immune to ordinary physical attacks, such as Logia users.

Smoker was such an example because he can turn into smoke, and it's basically impossible to harm him in his elemental state without Armament Haki.

Smoker wasn't shocked by the kick. No, he was knocked out cold. Yovan still kept his figure by a shroud of fire as he dove into the Ship, reaching Crocodile in a split second.

He wasn't interested in causing too much destruction. His goal was simply to spread the name Apollo out there.

It was quick. He broke the cell, and easily took off the Seastone cuffs that were holding Crocodile down before flying into the sky, carrying him along.

The Marines didn't know what to do. They were in shock, but they had to act quickly. Only the top of the ship was destroyed, so they could alleviate the damage by putting down the burning golden flames.

"And what brought the great Gaia down?" Yovan asked, trying to hold back a laugh.

"Shut up," Crocodile stood up with a deep frown, his mood speaking of nothing but annoyance, "I don't want to talk about it."

"Is it something embarrassing?" Yovan preyed further, "But seriously, I have to know who did it."

"Some..." Crocodile hesitated for a while, making it obvious just how embarrassing the loss was for him, "Some kids. They're called the Straw Hat Pirates."

"Kids, huh?" Yovan couldn't help but smile as he brought out his notebook just to refresh his memory, 'Hm, Luffy must've set out more than three months ago, but things didn't change much. Is it because I didn't interfere with Arabasta much?'

As far as he remembers, or as his notebook told him, this did happen in the story. However, what confused Yovan was that Crocodile joining the Pantheon should've changed something.

"How?" Yovan asked Crocodile who was staring at him weirdly.

"I... I was trying to take over Arabasta to become the King." Crocodile stated as he stood up on the platform of feathers, tidying up his clothing.

Yovan couldn't help but release a chuckle as he shook his head much to Crocodile's vigilance as the latter questioned, "What?"

"Nothing," Yovan shook his head, "The first Pantheon project will be announced tomorrow. Also, you're being a bit of a disappointment. I know you're better than this, so I demand you to be better."

"Demand?" Crocodile frowned.

"Just stop being a disappointment," Yovan didn't elaborate as he changed the subject, "You and Ares will be in charge of the Project. The Crows of the Night will let him know."

Without much discussion, Yovan took him to the closest Island and allowed him to find himself back home himself.

Yovan is the Stranger. He's the true sovereign of the Pantheon, using Zeus as a cover though many may suspect him, especially with the use of the Crows.

However, even Aphrodite and Zeus, he doesn't trust them that much. He certainly trusts Aphrodite, or Hancock more than Zeus though.

The Pantheon still has a long way to go before it becomes the solid force he desires.

In fact, what he allowed Zeus to tell them was the bare minimum, and he certainly didn't tell most of them about the Blueprints of Pluton. All they needed to know to startle them was the first Project, Misfortune.

Yovan started to feel his mind evolving like he could push himself more than ever. It was like he reached a certain point of evolution where his mind's advancement became more obvious.

His mind felt clearer than ever, so he used that to his advantage to basically think things through more than ever.

So he basically established a network of Crows throughout Paradise. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Crows spread out throughout the first half of the Grand Line in specific locations.

There was basically a center point where a significant amount of crows reside. It's the original source of news.

Those Crows will spread out in several directions into other crow nests, and then they'll go back. The other crow nests will be responsible for spreading the news to other crow nests, and so on.

Of course, they'll be dropping the news along the way, just like today, almost every Island of significance received different types of newspapers.

Well, they were only simple black papers with golden words written on them.

[The Pantheon: Somewhere, there is a nest. To reach the nest, there is a price. To make an ask, there is a price. If you so wish for misfortune to fall, just reach the nest and pay the price... This is the Gods' Misfortune.]

It was very vague, but it was enough because those who will take it seriously are the ones that matter.

If that wasn't enough to spread the word, the Underworld had even more information, facilitated by a new Underworld Emperor, Capone Bege.

He swiftly took over the positions of the Emperors that died in the Fall Massacre. In fact, Morgans is one of the Emperors of the Underworld, and he strangely helped Bege settle down comfortably.

That was one of the reasons why Yovan baited the two Underworld Emperors into the fall massacre.

He simply had to plant his mark in the Underworld because it will allow the reality of the Pantheon to spread to the people that matter.

The Dark papers were merely an announcement of the Initiation of the Pantheon. How it works will be made known through the Underworld.

But even Yovan was surprised by the first request he received as he eyed the images he received through a Den Den Mushi.

Of course, he wouldn't risk the crows actually coming to him after receiving a request. What if someone followed after them? So instead, he simply instructed the quite cunning crows to install Den Den Mushis he handed them.

It took him only one month to basically teach them everything they will ever need to know, and those little things were way too smark, so another way of contacting him was actually to talk to him through Den Den Mushis.

There are, however, instances where that won't hold up. If the information is too important, then it will have to reach him physically, an example of which would be communication between the Pantheon Gods.

Yovan eyed the picture with a weird smile, barely holding a maniacal laugh back. The picture was that of a piece of paper with a few words, the target of Misfortune.

So he made a call to the little crows, "Dark Wish N.00 is accepted. Three Billion Beli."

He will receive many requests, but only a few will be accepted by the Pantheon. What they basically created is a bounty system, but it's a bit more complicated.

Only once the Wish is accepted, and the payment is received will it be executed, so the Pantheon is asking a lot, payment before the service is done wouldn't usually be something anyone would consent to, in this situation at least.

But someone did, and their wish seem to be quite hefty, thus why Yovan asked for Three Billion Beli. The crows did what they do, and informed the wisher of the price.

And they were paid, so Yovan simply couldn't hold back his laughter, "Yahahahahahahahahahahaha!!"

His attention turned to the Island visible in the distance, a very interesting place, Sabaody Archipelago, "The World Is About To Enter A New Era, An Era Stranger Than Imagination."
