The news hit him like a lightning bolt. Akainu couldn't believe what he was hearing. Marineford, reduced to rubble. Sengoku, former Fleet Admiral, the legendary hero who had protected justice for decades, fallen in battle.
His mind refused to accept the reality. It couldn't be possible that someone had been so bold and powerful as to destroy Marineford and kill Sengoku.
"I don't know who you are...," roared Akainu, his voice resonating in the office, "...but if you're lying to me, you'll disappear into the depths of the sea!" Anger consumed Akainu, and his intimidating aura filled the room.
"Sir Sakazuki, this is the truth!" With a voice trembling with fear, Drake didn't even dare to breathe. "Now Marineford has turned into a natural ruin, covered by countless trees. And Inspector Sengoku was killed by a man he called Hashirama, who was killed with a laser to his head, completely disintegrating it."
"Who do you think you're talking to, idiot?!" Akainu felt he was going mad with each word coming from the phone. How could he believe such lies?
"Sir, everything I say is true," Drake insisted, his voice full of desperation. "What I say is true, Marineford has literally disappeared."
"Not only did Inspector Sengoku die, but many soldiers and civilians on the island died due to living vegetation."
"The one who brought this man named Hashirama here was King, a subordinate of Kaido. It seemed that this Hashirama and Inspector Sengoku knew each other and mentioned a battle from 40 years ago..."
"He's a very bloodthirsty and cruel man..." Drake continued speaking, his voice becoming more incoherent with fear.
Akainu listened in silence, his mind processing the information. Though he found it hard to believe, Drake's words had a tone of truth that he couldn't ignore.
"Stop saying such nonsense...!" Akainu finally interrupted Drake. "Wait... what did you just say?" Akainu was stunned by Drake's words. King, Kaido's subordinate, a man known for his brutality. A man named Hashirama, a name that sounded familiar. A battle from 40 years ago...
"Yes!" Drake responded vehemently. "That guy named Hashirama is very strong... I'm not lying to you, Fleet Admiral, when I say this man didn't even try to kill Inspector Sengoku."
Akainu's rage intensified. The death of Tokikake, the destruction of Marineford, the death of Sengoku... all of this pointed to the same enemy.
"DAMN IT!" Akainu roared, slamming his fist on the desk. "It seems that man has truly resurrected!"
Akainu couldn't contain his fury any longer. Imagining the image of Marineford in ruins, the death of Sengoku, the return of an enemy they thought defeated... all of this was too much for him.
"I have to see it myself, be prepared!" Akainu ordered Drake, his voice full of determination. "I will gather everyone and mobilize the entire Marines. That scoundrel will pay for his crimes!"
"GOTCHA"
He hung up the Den Den Mushi abruptly, letting out a roar of rage that shook the office to its foundations.
Akainu stood up, his imposing figure casting an ominous shadow over the room. His eyes burned with determination, and his aura of fury was palpable.
Without warning, a wave of scorching heat spread throughout New Marineford, as if the sun itself had become enraged.
"Eh, what's with this heat?" murmured a marine, feeling the sudden heat envelop him.
"Could it be the Fleet Admiral?" asked another, with a mix of astonishment and concern in his voice.
"No! The question here is why the Admiral would release his breath like this," exclaimed a third, trying to understand the situation.
In the next instant, marines all over New Marineford began to sweat profusely due to the high temperature, showing surprised expressions as they all looked in the direction of the Fleet Admiral's office at the top of New Marineford.
High-ranking marines, such as Tensei, Garp, Ryokugyu, and Gion, immediately detected the source of this overwhelming heat thanks to their Observation Haki. Worried, they ran to the Fleet Admiral's office, sensing that something terrible was about to happen.
When they reached the door, they stopped dead. Akainu's fury was palpable, so powerful it seemed he might unleash a volcanic eruption at any moment.
The door swung open, revealing the face of the Fleet Admiral, contorted with rage. His body trembled, and his eyes burned with an intensity that could incinerate anyone who dared to look at him.
With a voice that brooked no argument, Akainu ordered, "Garp, Ryokugyu, and everyone... come with me to the island of Marineford." Without waiting for a response, he flew out of the office like a red spark, leaving the marines stunned.
With no time to process what had just happened, Garp, Ryokugyu, and the other marines leaped into the air, following the Fleet Admiral in his swift flight towards Marineford. An unsettling silence took over New Marineford as the marines wondered what had unleashed the Fleet Admiral's fury and what dangers awaited them on the island.
"Did something happen in Marineford?" Tensei seemed astonished and asked unconsciously.
"Mm?... Let's hope not," Crane shook his head and said in a heavy tone, "because I don't know what happened. But there was a sinister premonition in my heart."
"Impossible!" Ryokugyu shrugged with a curse and said, "And why attack Marineford?"
"Stop talking and follow Sakazuki," Garp said with a serious look, leaving the senbei in his hand, suppressing the sinister premonition in his heart and following Akainu.
