After everyone talked for a while the group set out in search of the city of gold. After an attack by a snake everyone got separated. Accept for Kai and Robin who were still walking together towards the city as everyone else was going the wrong way now.
The two of them arrived to find an ancient city. They both looked around with interest and watched as a random guy from Enel's followers landed on top of the ruins.
"You don't know how valuable those are. You should get off." Robin calmly told the guy.
In response the man just laughed and punched the ruins, destroying part of them. Kai sucked in a cold breath.
"You fucked up buddy." He said as arms grew out of the man and snapped his neck.
"That idiot deserves it." Robin said with a huff in anger.
"Wahahaha! Yeah he was a dickhead, anyway you sense him right?" Kai laughed at Robin thinking she was cute.
Robin nodded. "Someone fairly strong is coming." Kai thought for a bit. He didn't want to see Robin get hurt at all but he also didn't want to baby her and protect her from everything.
"You want help?" He asked.
However, Robin shook her head and said. "No thanks."
Kai nodded solemnly and went invisible while hiding his emotions. Not allowing the man who showed up to see or sense him. When the man who was one of Enel's priests arrived. He started to fight Robin, however Robin was trying to protect the ruins as well as fight, causing her to start taking a beating.
Kai was fuming internally but his face showed no emotion on it as he watched the fight go on. Eventually Robin succeeded in running away from the ruins so the man, Yama, couldn't destroy them anymore.
Once Robin no longer had to worry about the ruins it quickly turned into a one sided battle. Robin grew hands all over the man and held him in place, she walked up to him.
"You're a fool for trying to destroy history, a fool who cannot be forgiven. Clutch." She said as she grew one more hand around his groin and squeezed.
"AAAHHH!!!" Yama screamed as he was immersed in immense pain.
Kai saw this and cringed, that is the worst possible pain you can experience as a man, even Crocodile would agree. He turned visible again and walked up to Robin and the man who Robin threw off of a cliff they were near after she clutched him.
"Onwards?" He asked her and she nodded.
They both made their way to the ancient city. After a few more minutes of walking they had arrived. There was a large commotion outside but Kai wasn't worried, he already knew what would happen, plus he was using kenbunshoku to make sure nothing bad happened, if it did, well he was probably the fastest man on this island. Maybe the second fastest after Enel, he wasn't sure yet.
He and Robin explored the ruins and started going over the ancient text. They learned that the golden city was destroyed trying to protect the poneglyphs.
"Amazing isn't it?" A voice came from behind the two.
Kai turned around and looked up at Enel. "Hey man. Can't you see we're on a date? Why are you interrupting us?"
Enel looked amused by Kai's sentence. "What kind of person takes a girl out to an ancient city?"
Kai and Robin just ignored Enel's question.
"Who are you?" Robin asked.
"God." Enel said with a serious voice and a smirk on his face like he really believed that.
"Pfft." Kai laughed at him. Causing a lightning bolt to be sent to where he was just standing. Kai moved to the side quickly but still got a little shock as he couldn't fully dodge the strike. He didn't use kenbunshoku haki at all as he wanted to see how fast Enel was and using kenbunshoku would be cheating.
Turns out Kai was the second fastest man on this island and not the first, but not by much. Kai shook his hand that was hit a bit.
"That tingles, sparky." He said as he activated his kenbunshoku again so Enel wouldn't be able to hit him anymore.
Enel had a tick mark appear on his forehead and he shouted out. "I'm God! Don't call me sparky!"
He sent multiple lightning bolts at Kai. One of them accidentally went straight for Robin so Kai flashed in front of her and caught it with a haki coated hand.
He felt almost no tingling in his hand when he was hit this time as he used haki to coat his hand before touching the lightning. Kai smiled to himself. Turns out Enel isn't all that if you have haki. His biggest strength was definitely his speed over his attack power. In this regard he was just like Kai. And while he may be faster than Kai in a straight up race of speed. Kai was much more versatile, he could move omnidirectionally in the air and had a variety of different methods of attack. Plus Kai's haki was exponentially better than Enel's in both kenbunshoku and busoshoku.
Enel saw his attack blocked with a bare fist and his jaw dropped. "WHAT? HOW?" He yelled out with his face contorted in pure disbelief. For the first time since he ate the Goro Goro no mi fruit Enel was SHOCKed.
Ahem, bad joke. Anyway!
Kai didn't respond to him directly. Kai instead looked at his own hand as if he too was surprised. "What? How did I do that?" He asked like he was genuinely confused causing Robin to giggle.
Enel's smug face returned as he thought that Kai just got lucky. He sent another lightning bolt at Kai who dodged and charged at him with wind swirling around his fist. He punched towards Enel and the wind blast flew towards Enel dicing up his body into small parts as Enel didn't even attempt to dodge.
Enel quickly reformed from lightning with a smile on his face. "I am god. I have transcended humans. You cannot hurt me."
Kai started to get a little bored. He set Robin down as he was still holding her in one arm and asked Enel one final thing.
"Alright 'god' quick question. If you ate the rumble rumble devil fruit and became a thunder man then why the fuck do you use lightning? Isn't that like really stupid? You aren't a lightning lightning man so how do you even use it?" Kai asked as he really wanted to know.
Enel was confused. "What's a devil fruit? I just transcended humans and became god on my own."
Kai sighed. Of course he wouldn't know. "Nevermind then sparky. See you later." Kai said as he walked away with Robin in a certain direction.
Enel sent multiple lightning bolts at Kai but they all went through him as he turned into air in the spots he was hit by lightning.
"Holy shit! Look devil-chan! I'm GOD! WAHAHAHA!" Kai said as he continued to walk away.
Enel was stupefied. "Another god! How could this be?"
Robin and Kai laughed. "Wahahaha/Nishishishi!"
They walked in the direction of the golden bell and the other poneglyph.
On the way Robin asked Kai. "That god guy is really strong. Do you really expect anyone on the crew to be able to beat him?"
Kai chuckled. "Your captain is literally made of rubber, I think they'll be fine." Robin face palmed for missing such an obvious thing.
The two eventually arrived at the golden bell and started reading poneglyphs.
"Oh cool! This is from Roger. Look at this one devil-chan." Kai pointed out Roger's message to Robin.
The two continued to read the poneglyphs until Kai suddenly said. "Sorry devil-chan I'll be right back."
He disappeared into the air. Robin sighed sadly as she was having fun reading ancient text with Kai. It was much more fun than doing it alone.
