The town was in shambles as men dressed in suits walked around the town causing harm. They would punch civilians who didn't know who didn't know where Imai was.
Dressed in suits, they were the lackeys of Shiki.
Imai stared down at the lackeys with a bored expression as they expressed their anger towards her. She couldn't help but sigh and shake her head.
"These weaklings are blinded by anger, they don't even know what they're up against." Imai muttered, sitting by the edge of the execution platform.
"That's how it is, their desire for revenge blind their rationality to think, and assess the situation even if you're the strongest person in the world." Uta added.
Rei grinned, "Shall I take care of them for you, captain? I could relieve some stress right now."
"Hmm, then the two of you, do as you please." Imai said, unleashing the two demons.
The lackeys were charging through the town, word had spread that they were on the execution platform. They ran there immediately and could only be mortified at the sight.
A red and blue flash zipped through their forces as if they were made of paper. Even without their devil fruits, they easily overpowered them despite the differences in number.
And standing behind them was the one and only Empress of the Blade. She was sitting on the execution platform as if it was a throne and clearly looked down at them. It was as if this was her world and everyone else was just living in it.
Uta and Rei easily cleaved through the Shiki's lackeys that were endlessly coming at them. Though it didn't matter since their numbers had started to decrease at a quick rate.
It wasn't that the lackeys weren't strong, they were thoroughly trained by Shiki. However, Rei and Uta were just too strong for them to handle.
"Whoever gets more kills in the end buys the loser candy."
"Deal!"
Imai was confused when she saw that their eyes had a blazing passion for something. She furrowed her eyebrows and wondered what was going on between them. But there were more important matters at hand, there were marines lurking, waiting for the battle end.
Instead of being worried, she smirked.
"Do they really think the two I personally trained would run out of stamina that easily? Pfft, hahaha! Well, let's see how this plays out." Imai said, resting her palm on her cheek.
"These guys just keep on coming, huh?" Uta muttered.
"That's just better for me! Take a break if you're tired, I got the rest!" Rei said with a wink.
The two had their backs pressed against each other as they perfectly fought against the enemies in sync. Their movements were all synchronized as if they were telling each other what to do telepathically.
They would simultaneously switch between opponents after landing a critical hit on them and the latter would land the final blow as the latter did the same.
Their battle skills had been impressively honed, but they haven't reached the limit. There was even more room for improvement, their potentials were endless. From swordsmanship to haki, none of their skills fell behind.
Soon enough, the battle had ended, at least that was what they thought. After the corpses of the lackeys were spread throughout the long road of Loguetown, the marines had finally appeared.
"Hmm, I guess they add to our kill count right?" Uta asked.
"Of course! They should've joined the battle earlier, these wussies hiding in the dark, and waited for us to get tired." Rei said, kicking a marine through the wall. "How about now? Are you tired?"
Uta smiled, showing off her perfectly white straight teeth.
"I'm just getting started."
Because Uta had been around Imai a lot and had seen the strange maniacal side of hers. She was influenced by it, only a little bit. Her wide smile was quite similar to Imai when she was having a lot of fun - killing people that is.
Her blade cleaved through the marines as if they were made of butter.
Blood, screams, and tears.
All of them came from the bodies of the marines that were scared for their life. They knew things weren't going their way, they should've trusted their gut.
Anything involving the Fifth Emperor was a no-no.
'So why couldn't they send someone stronger?'
That was the marine's last thought before he was mercilessly killed.
And it was this battle that Uta and Rei had started to gain more attention to the pirates and the marines. The two alone defeated hundreds, if not thousands, of pirates and marines combined.
Due to the color of their hair, they were given nicknames, and an updated bounty.
[ Red-Oni Uta ]
[ 2,100,000 Berries ]
[ Blue- Oni Rei ]
[ 1,700,000,000 Berries ]
Their devilish smiles while they slaughtered the lackeys and marines had something to do with their nicknames. The amount of berries they were worth now showed that they weren't just followers of Imai.
They had their own strength and they didn't need their captain protecting them all the time.
Imai couldn't be any more proud, it was like a mother seeing their daughter being successful using the knowledge she had taught.
But for now, it was time to leave immediately before the admirals had started to arrive. Together, the three immediately hurried to their ship, and immediately sailed off.
"Ah! Wait! We didn't get our candy yet!" Uta exclaimed.
"Captain! Mission abort! Mission abort! Turn this ship around! Uta owes me candy!" Rei yelled.
"NO! You're the one who owes ME candy. I counted everyone of my kills and I had more than you." Uta argued.
"Nope." Rei crossed her arms. "Clearly at the end, I took three down at once which makes me the winner since it was cooler than your final kill!"
"That's not how it works!"
Imai sighed and rubbed her temples at the headache that was about to come. Who would've thought that they went all out just for some candy?
"These kids…"
And just like that, the Massacre of Loguetown had ended. Shiki's history had been erased from the present and there was no one that followed him anymore. Sure he was once an important figure, but like Uta said.
He didn't belong in the new age.
