Chapter 63: The Proud Red Earl
Charlotte approached the proud Redfield, who was clutching his chest, and spoke in a teasing voice.
Hearing Charlotte's boastful words, Redfield's face darkened. With a wave of his hand, he pushed Charlotte aside.
"No need! I'll go to the New World and learn it myself! I don't need you to teach me!" Redfield said arrogantly.
"Is that so? That won't be easy! As far as I know, there are only a handful of people who can do it. Are you sure you'll find one? And even if you do, will they teach you?"
Charlotte didn't mind Redfield's rejection at all and continued to speak in a provoking tone.
Redfield fell silent for a moment, his expression clouded with thought.
This made Charlotte laugh out loud.
"Hahahaha! Hahahahaha!"
Redfield's face darkened further as Charlotte's laughter grew louder. He felt an overwhelming urge to stab that smug face with his umbrella.
Seeing Redfield's expression grow increasingly menacing, Charlotte stopped laughing and took out the training notebook that Rocks had given him. He tore off a few pages and handed them to Redfield.
"Redfield, this is the training method for Conqueror's Haki Entanglement. If you're interested, take a look. It was written by my captain, Rocks, himself. It's extremely precious, so keep it safe!"
Charlotte patted Redfield on the shoulder as he spoke.
This time, Redfield didn't dodge Charlotte's hand. Instead, he took the pages and began studying the writing seriously.
"In fact, the fastest way to train Conqueror's Haki is to fight with people who can use it. Only through battle can you improve," Charlotte said, his tone suddenly serious.
Redfield looked up, slightly startled.
"Then tell me, who in this world can use Conqueror's Haki Entanglement?" Redfield asked eagerly.
Seeing Redfield's newfound enthusiasm, Charlotte couldn't help but laugh again.
"Hahahahaha! Redfield, you're getting impatient!"
Redfield glared at him, clearly unamused.
Sensing the dangerous look in Redfield's eyes, Charlotte quickly stopped laughing.
"All right, all right. Let's get serious. In this world, only those with Conqueror's Haki can learn to use it in combat. Hey, wait! Don't act rashly!"
Charlotte jumped back just in time to avoid a slash from Redfield's umbrella. A small crater formed where he had been standing moments ago.
"If you keep talking nonsense, don't blame me for being rude," Redfield said coldly, though there was no real malice in his voice.
"Hahaha, just a joke! Don't be so grumpy! Smile a little more," Charlotte said with a grin.
**"As far as I know, there are only seven people in the world who can use Conqueror's Haki Entanglement. Five of them are in the Rocks Pirates, and two are in the Roger Pirates.
The five in the Rocks Pirates are Rocks D. Xebec, Whitebeard Edward Newgate, Golden Lion Shiki, Charlotte Linlin, and me.
The Roger Pirates include Gol D. Roger and Silvers Rayleigh.
As far as I know, that's it. There might be others, but they're either hiding or unknown,"** Charlotte explained, counting on his fingers.
Redfield was momentarily stunned. Five out of the seven were in the Rocks Pirates?
Even in the first half of the Grand Line, the name "Rocks" carried significant weight. Hearing this only made Redfield more curious.
"All right, I understand. I'll challenge them one by one!"
Redfield's eyes shone with determination. He wasn't afraid; he was eager to test his strength against the best.
Hearing this, Charlotte was taken aback.
"Redfield, are you crazy? You want to challenge them one by one? Have you forgotten that they're pirates? They won't be as easygoing as me. And you even want to challenge me… Hey, hey, hey! Don't do it! You're bullying me because I don't have a weapon!"
Charlotte darted around, using his mastery of the Navy's Six Powers, specifically Shave, to evade Redfield's attacks.
Watching from the Navy Headquarters, Admiral Kong and the others were stunned.
"Is that… the Navy's Six Powers?" Sengoku muttered in disbelief.
"Damn it! Charlotte's showing off in front of us! This is a blatant insult to the Navy!" Admiral Kong slammed his fist on the table in anger.
On the island, Redfield sheathed his umbrella after a few unsuccessful swings.
"Hmph. You're annoyingly fast," he said, his tone exasperated.
"Haha! Don't be so quick-tempered," Charlotte said, patting Redfield on the shoulder.
"If you really want to challenge someone, I suggest starting with the Roger Pirates. They're different from other pirate groups—they're not as brutal. You'll be pleasantly surprised," Charlotte advised.
Redfield's expression softened slightly at the suggestion.
"Roger, huh?"
"Yeah. But start with Silvers Rayleigh, their vice-captain, not Roger. Challenging Roger might just get you killed," Charlotte warned.
Redfield snorted dismissively.
"Who I challenge is none of your business," he said arrogantly.
Charlotte was momentarily stunned, then laughed.
"Hahaha! Fair enough!"
Seeing Charlotte's carefree expression, Redfield couldn't help but smirk. His mood had significantly improved.
"Let's not stand here any longer. Let's head back to Water 7 for a drink. What's the point of staying on this sandy beach?" Charlotte said, grabbing Redfield's shoulder and leading him toward the shore.
As they approached the beach, Charlotte noticed a small boat with a Marine officer holding a Den Den Mushi.
"Well, well, Redfield. Looks like your bounty's about to go up," Charlotte remarked with a smirk.
Redfield sneered.
"I couldn't care less about that nonsense," he said dismissively.
Charlotte chuckled and pointed at the unconscious sea creatures nearby.
"Looks like our Conqueror's Haki knocked out the Blues. Poor things didn't stand a chance."
