Whole Cake Island II

Viper and Reiju were walking down the hallway, and came a across a door. Viper jumped out of Reiju's sleeve and reverted to human form. He tied up his hair, and grabbed a lab coat he found before walking inside. Reiju watched him, amused, and said "What are you doing?" Viper said "Infiltrating. Watch me. Heheh" Viper and Reiju walked forward near a scientist and Viper pretended to look around. The scientist said "Reiju-sama, who is this?" Viper changed his voice to Caesar's and said "Who are you to ask my assistant questions?!" Reiju kept a neutral expression and the scientist stammered "W-who are you?!" Viper frowned and said "Did Judge not say I was coming by to see his genetics research? Big mom specifically sent me!" The scientist started to sweat "Wha-" Viper interrupted him and said "I'm Caesar Clown! Call me Master! Big mom told me to come and review the genetics research, before the wedding."

The scientist said "But I nev-" Viper snapped "I don't like to wait! Can you handle the consequences of Big mom and Judge's wrath?" he snorted and said to Reiju "Take me to Judge! I will speak with him personally!" Reiju bowed and turned around Viper started to follow her. The scientist was shocked and pleaded "Master! Please stay! I must've missed King-sama's message, I will show you the research. My apologies." Viper turned around and said "Shulololololo! Good! Hurry up! I have to return to Big mom by tomorrow morning!" the scientist bowed and said "Please follow me!" he turned around and led them to the genetics division.

Viper and Reiju were following the scientist, Reiju shot Viper a glance and Viper winked at her grinning before going back to his Caesar face. Reiju was amazed and kept her neutral expression. The scientist led them through several corridors, before coming across a lab and saying "This is the genetics laboratory. Would you like me to help you?" Viper frowned "Are you questioning my intelligence?! How about I take you ask my next test subject?" he gave the scientist a maniacal grin, the thing was he meant everything he just said. The scientist went pale and said "That's not necessary! Everyone knows your intelligence rivals Vegapunk's!"

Viper laughed and said "Shulolololo, nonsense! Come with me I could really use your help!" he grabbed the scientist's arm and attempted to drag him into the lab. The scientist said frantically "I don't know anything about the genetics division! I work in the logistical department!" Viper frowned and said "Then why did you offer?" Viper's eyes widened and said "Unless you believe i'm actually a spy! Trying to steal Germa's genetics research for my own uses?!" the scientist nodded and Viper snapped "I could do it better myself! Why would I bother with your incomplete and flawed research?! Forget it! Let's go. I'll tell Big mom they 'suspected' me, we'll see where Germa can run to." as he turned around and walked off furious.

The scientist was torn if he was telling the truth he was finished, he decided to take the safe route and said "Wait! Master Caesar! I'm sorry please forgive me! Use our lab, I don't want any trouble!" Viper said "Forget it. I'll let Big mom speak for me. I'm sure you'll listen to her!" as he continued. The scientist paled, he ran forward and fell to his knees in front of Viper and said "Master Caesar please forgive me! I don't doubt you! Please don't tell Big mom! I'll do whatever you ask!" Viper said "Go get me your research notes and all Vinsmoke childrens' records! I want them in my hands within the minute!" and he walked into the genetics lab, Reiju followed him and the scientist scrambled and ran to get the research and records, he wanted to give him what he wanted and get as far away from this maniac as possible.

Inside the room, Viper was shifting through papers and notes. Reiju watched him and replayed everything that just happened, she was honestly a bit shocked. She had seen Caesar before and heard him speak and laugh, she had to admit except the way he looked everything else was perfect. Viper frowned and looked at the clock as he said "I'm really going to fillet that guy. He's late." Reiju covered her mouth and let a small giggle escape her lips, the door opened and the scientist brought everything Viper asked for. Viper frowned and said "Why were you late? I said within the minute!" the scientist said "The papers were on the other side of the lab I-" Viper snapped "Maybe you didn't hear me correctly. I have a schedule! If I'm not back to Big mom on time, do you think she'll just wait for me to come back?!" the scientist paled and said "N-No sir!" Viper glared at him and read through the records and the research notes and said "Why did you off set a toxin with a solvent?! Are you an idiot?! Get out!" the scientist scrambled out of the door and closed it before going back to his work and telling himself never to talk to strangers again.

Viper was reading through the research notes and said "Whoever made this is a real idiot." he was using his normal voice now. Reiju was curious and said "Why?" Viper was reading her sheet and said "The genetic modification solution they used is completely absurd! There was only a 60% success rate and it was barely qualified as a successful genetic modification! For example you had solution P-32 version, which gave you poison consuming abilities as well as superhuman strength and an exoskeleton, but also disabled your disobedience to Judge. I fix that and make your poison more powerful along with the rest of you, by changing the chemicals and measurements... if I add a few more things I can make you faster as well..."

Viper was going through paper after paper and analyzing them in great detail, he said "Unfortunately I can't change the lack of emotions in your brothers. Whatever, doesn't matter.. now how should I start with the C-H23..." Viper grabbed the research notes and began making his enhanced version of the genetic modification solution, he suddenly said "I need a bit of your blood.."

Reiju took a knife and stabbed at herself, Viper's eyes widened and he grabbed her hand, causing the knife to go through his own as he snapped "Are you crazy?! I said a little bit! Not 'please stab yourself'! Idiot! What if you got hurt?!" he grabbed the knife from her, took it out of his hand and threw it away before grabbing a syringe and alcohol wipes and drawing a bit of her blood. He said "I'm sorry if it hurt." as he washed the puncture wound and wrapped it with a bandage.

She was absolutely stunned, Viper's hand was still bleeding but he ignored it and put her blood in two different plates before testing his own genetic formula on one of them and looking closely between the original and the tested one. He frowned and said "The strength of your poison and the rest is stronger but the disobedience..." he snapped and said "Idiot! Of course!" Viper scrambled with a bunch of test tubes and started mixing them with great care as he held his bleeding hand over a small bucket of fluid waste so his blood doesn't accidentally mix into his solution.

Reiju watched him with her mouth open wide, she looked at her hand that still had his blood on it and replayed every single moment in her head. He was so gentle, like he was handling a precious treasure, he had even wrapped up her syringe wound even through he knew it would close by itself in seconds. He touched the bandage and smiled warmly as she watched him try and fix her genetic problem, that took scientists years to make, in a few dozen minutes.

Viper had make his new solution and dumped the contaminated blood into the waste bucket, before he made a new blood sample. He carefully injected his new solution into the blood and looked extremely closely to the changes. The blood turned pink and sizzled before going back to normal, Viper frowned and said "That's not good.. problem fixed, poison burned 1/1000th of the blood. It's not good enough... less poison solution or balance it out with speed enhancement.." Viper tilted his head and muttered "Balance speed, and enhance strength as main component.." he set aside the solution he just made and labeled it 'failed' before making another one with new measurements.

Reiju was shocked, he fixed her problem but there was a slight problem that would make her need to recover for a few days but he named it a failure. She slapped her forehead and said "It works?" Viper frowned and said "Yeah, but the poison was a little too much and burned 1/1000th of the blood sample." Reiju said "How was it a failure then?" Viper gave her a look and said "Poison burning 1/1000th of the blood in your body would have you on a bed for a day or two and would be excruciatingly painful." Reiju said "So? It works." Viper turned around and flicked her forehead and said "Idiot. If I wanted some garbage that would hurt you I would give you that one. Yours has to be perfect. No pain." before mumbling something and turning back around and going back to creating the solution. She rubbed her forehead and just stared at his back, this guy just said 'No pain' she said "You want to make a solution to change my genetics, while also making me experience zero pain?! That's impossible!"

Viper stopped and said "Nothing is impossible. I made a robot think for itself. I made a weather staff eat a logia cloud fruit, and made a new cloud that rains thunder coated with fire. I made cybernetic limbs that can allow you to fly and shoot lasers, by using the energy your body produces and made them compatible with Haki. I can do anything! I can turn a living person into a functioning dog without a devil fruit, I WILL do this as well." and continued his work.

Reiju was literally stunned into silence, she went over everything he just said over and over in her head, while Viper finished another solution. He got another blood sample and injected the solution, and observed the changes. This time the blood turned pink and went back to normal, he poked a finger in to her blood sample and felt it was at the same temperature it was at before. He mumbled "Poison enhanced, Strength enhanced, Speed enhanced, genetic obedience... cleared. Why does it turn pink..." Reiju said "Does it matter?" Viper said "Of course it matters! What if you get hurt? The pink blood could severely damage her DNA! I need a test subject.." He chuckled and said "I guess it's only me." Reiju snapped "What?! You could die!" Viper said "Better than you dying."

Reiju slapped him and said "You don't have what I have, even if it works. You have to grow an exoskeleton, survive the poison period and take the pain of the strength and speed enhancement! Are you an idiot for real?! I'd rather stay like this then have you die for me!" she glared at him, he turned his head and said "I'm not confident it won't hurt you. I won't do anything without a test subject first." Reiju grit her teeth and said "I'll be right back. I swear to god if you inject that into yourself, I will kill you even if you don't die!" and stormed off, Viper watched her go and chuckled to himself before making more of the solution he was about to test.

Reiju came back and saw Viper sitting in a chair sleeping with several syringes on a table next to him, she sighed and dragged in two men that looked exactly the same. She looked at the time and saw it was extremely late he had been working for hours now, she smiled and watched him. He heard the door opened and footsteps and woke up. He turned and saw Reiju and said "You're back!" she sighed at his ecstatic look and he said "Who are these guys?" she said "Clones, made using the said genetic modifications as myself." Viper whistled and said "Clones eh?" he poked at the two men and said "Judge is playing a dangerous game here. Whatever none of my business, let's get started!" he drew blood from each of them and tested their blood, it reached the same way Reiju's did.

He grabbed a syringe and stabbed the man in the chest before pushing down the plunger, sending the solution into the man's body. The man's body shook and stopped, his skin got a little whiter and his hair was a bit pinker. Viper said "How do you feel?" the man said "Stronger. Thank you master." Viper rubbed his throat and pinched it and said in Judge's voice "Punch me." the man said "I won't" Viper voice went back to normal and said "Did you feel any pain during injection till now?" The man said "No, only the initial puncture was a bit painful." Viper smiled and said "Sorry about that. You may leave, remember you never saw me I don't exist and you never got your injections from me." the man nodded and left.

Viper turned to the next man and said in Judge's voice "Punch me." the man punched him, Viper caught the fist and said "Rate your strength, speed, healing, and poison abilities out of 10." the man said "Strength 6, Speed 5, Healing 8, Poison 7." Viper nodded and stuck the syringe in to the man's heart and injected the solution. The man shook and grew a little taller, maybe a single inch, his skin turned whiter and hair pinker. Viper said in Judge's voice "Punch me." the man said "I won't" Viper nodded and said "Rate them again." the man said "Strength 10, Speed 8, Healing 10, Poison 9." Viper grinned and said "You may go. You never met me, you never got an injection, I don't exist." the man nodded and left.

Viper took a deep breath and said "I have one left. I already cleaned up. Do you want to do it somewhere else?" Reiju said "Let's go to my room." Viper nodded and adopted his Caesar persona once more and the duo walked out of the lab. They passed by the scientist from before and he said "You're finished already?!" Viper said "Shulololololo! Of course! I left all your notes in the room! I will report back to Big mom, my business is finished." and walked out of the lab into the hallways, as the scientist silently cheered.

Viper untied his hair and ditched the lab coat, he slipped the syringe into Reiju's pocket and transformed into a small snake and hid back in her sleeve. She walked down the hallway and towards her room, Ichiji was leaning on a wall next to her door and said "Where have you been?" Reiju said "Does it matter what I do with my free time?" Ichiji said "You've been acting different since we left that rainbow-haired loser on the ship. I want to know why." Reiju frowned and said "I have? I went to our mother's grave, maybe I missed her." Ichiji gave her a look and said "I hope so, wouldn't want to have to go and kill that loser myself, that would be a severe waste of time." Viper was seething and Reiju said "Probably, maybe we'd have to go pick up your corpse. Wouldn't want to go that far for a loser after all." as she smiled, Ichiji grunted and walked away saying "I have my eye on you." Reiju waved and said sarcastically "That's great make sure you keep a close watch!" before walking into her room and closing the door.

Viper slipped out and said "That's guy's an asshole. Who does he think he is threatening you like that?" Reiju giggled at the small snake fuming with anger and said "Let's do it." Viper was shocked and said "Right now? I just met you today. I thought you didn't like me and were giving me a chance! This is going fast even for me!" he had his mouth wide open in shock, Reiju watched him spout nonsense before slapping him on the head and saying "I am giving you a chance idiot! I meant the solution not THAT! What goes through that snake brain of yours all day?" Viper blinked and said with a weird blush "Snake thoughts?" Reiju rubbed her temples in exasperation and said "Just give me the injection." Viper mumbled "That doesn't sound any better..." as he reverted to his human form, she said "Did you say something?" with a fake smile.

Viper started sweating and said "Absolutely nothing! It must've been the wind! Damn windows!" he made a dust pass through the room and closed the curtains and said "Says the craziest things that wind hehehe" Reiju rolled her eyes and giggled as she gave him the syringe and watched his whole demeanor change. Viper held the syringe and said "I want you to know, If this doesn't work. I will find a way even if it kills me." Reiju was a bit taken aback and Viper said "Anyways, lie down. Don't take off your clothes, there's no need." Reiju rolled her eyes again and lied down on her bed.

Viper was extremely serious, he walked over and rolled up her sleeve. He pulled an alcohol pad out and sterilized the needle and her arm, he flicked the syringe and prepared to inject Reiju. He said "Here goes nothing, i'm sorry if it hurts." he stabbed the needle into her arm, she flinched a bit and he paused and said "Are you okay?!" she turned to look at his worried look and smiled and nodded. He took a deep breath and slowly pushed the plunger down, injecting the solution into her bloodstream. He pushed the whole thing in and removed the needle, he cleaned the wound with another Alcohol pad and bandaged her arm up.

He pulled up a chair and sat next to her watching her closely. Reiju said "Are you gonna sit there forever?" Viper nodded and said "When I confirm you're okay, I will leave." Reiju smiled at him and said quietly "Thank you Viper.." Viper was paying attention to her body and felt her pulse, he said "It should reach you heart in approximately 2 seconds." he silently counted down and Reiju's body shook, Viper grabbed her hand and squeezed slightly, extremely worried.

Reiju's body shook and her skin turned whiter, her hair turned pinker and she grew an inch taller. She convulsed again, Viper frowned and felt her pulse. He put his hand on her stomach and pressed his fingers against her neck, he bent over and pressed his ear against her chest. He picked his head up and frowned, everything was normal he mumbled "Why did she suddenly convulse.." all of a sudden her breathing stopped, Viper froze he felt her chest where her heart was and didn't feel anything. He panicked and pushed both hands on her chest and performed CPR, he did chest compressions and tilted her head back before blocking her nose and blowing into her mouth and going back to chest compressions.

30 minutes later

Reiju sat up gasping for air, knocking into Viper and sending him flying across the room and slamming into the ground. Viper got up and still had some blood on his lips as he walked over, Reiju fell back on her bed asleep. He checked her pulse and let out a breath of relief, before collapsing into the chair. He took a deep breath and grabbed the syringe before leaving the room, going to find Sanji.

The next morning

Reiju's eyelashes fluttered open and she sat up, she turned her head and saw Viper completely asleep. He was wearing a white suit shirt with rolled up sleeves, exposing most of his forearms, he had a black tie loosened in the collar of the suit shirt, the top two buttons of his shirt were unbuttoned. He had black suit pants and a belt, with his shirt tucked inside and black dress shoes. His hair was messy and all over the place, and he was sleeping the chair gripping the arm rests tightly.

She smiled and parted his hair from his face, she noticed the bags under his eyes and frowned. The door opened and Sanji walked in. He saw Viper sleeping in a chair and Reiju moving his hair out of his face, he sighed and said "Breakfast is ready." Reiju giggled and said "You look tired." Sanji said "Some bastard ran into my room last night, sweating like a wild animal and bleeding from his lips to ask for a change of clothes and where the shower was." Reiju frowned and said "What? Why was he sweating and bleeding?" Sanji said "I don't know, you should ask him yourself he looked like he just survived death." before he walked out of the room, he still wasn't really comfortable with Viper chasing his sister, he himself didn't think he ever would be 'Maybe when i'm with Nami-swan..' he thought as he swooned to the kitchen.

Reiju turned to Viper and said to herself "Just what happened.." she got up and walked around the room, changed her clothes and went for breakfast.

A while later

Viper heard the door open and woke up, he turned his head to the door and said "Hey, what are you doing here?" Sanji said "I came to sneak you food." he put the plate down and closed the door as he lit a cigarette, he threw one over to Viper and lit it for him as he said "What happened yesterday?"

Viper exhaled and leaned back in his chair saying "Impersonated Caesar and got into the genetic modifications lab, after which I went over each of your records and made a new solution to fix your sister's blind compliance with your father's instructions while also adding my own enhancements. I injected it into her last night, she was fine until her heart stopped beating. I did CPR for 30 minutes straight, she woke up and fell back asleep. After I made sure she was fine I came to find you for clothes and a shower, afterwards I came back here and watched over her all night." he reached under his chair and pulled out a box full of syringes and medical equipment and said "I had adrenaline shots and basic tools for surgery if required, thankfully they weren't necessary." He put the box down and took a long drag from his cigarette as he said "I tested the solution twice on two others exactly the same as her and didn't get the reaction she got... How was she at breakfast?"

Sanji was silent before saying "Different." Viper winced and said "Good different or bad different?" Sanji stared at Viper and said "Good different." he watched as Viper looked visibly relieved and sagged in his chair relaxing his whole body, Viper said "That's great, i'm just glad she's okay." Sanji said "What if she was bad different?" Viper chuckled and rubbed his forehead with the hand holding his cigarette and said "You'd be welcoming the newest Germa scientist in a few minutes, at least until I found a cure."

Sanji leaned back in his chair and said "You are one lucky bastard." Viper said "Actually unlucky this time, remember when I said there's always a 0.01% chance of death? That was it, fortunately I brought her back to life in time, she had oxygen, and her blood was flowing. No brain damage and no side effects. I got lucky, extremely lucky. I don't like improbabilities.. If she died I think I would leave the crew and go live in a village somewhere until I died, alone."

Sanji gave him a look and said "You wouldn't" Viper looked at him and chuckled before saying "You're right. I wouldn't leave here alive." he got up and walked over to the window, he put his cigarette in his mouth and opened the windows letting the air in and staring outside as he said "Sanji. Would you hate me if I actually married your sister?" he put a hand in his pocket as he smoked with the other hand as he stared at Whole Cake island.

Sanji was silent and said "Why?" Viper chuckled and said "After we left Dressrosa, seven of the colosseum gladiator captains and groups vowed to serve under Luffy in a 'Straw Hat Grand Fleet' they had sons cups and everything." Sanji listened and took another drag waiting for Viper to continue and he did "After wards I borrowed a few and exchanged cups with Robin, Luffy, Zoro, Franky, and Ussop and took them as my brothers and sisters. I did the same with Brook, Nami, and Chopper on Zou. You're the only one left, I don't have any cups or sake on me unfortunately but I don't think I'll need one." he took a drag and exhaled a mouthful of smoke and said "If everything goes as planned, then we can just do it on my wedding day." he laughed and added "Marrying you brother's sister is a tad bit strange, although the Celestial Dragons are quite avid fans i've been told." he flicked his cigarette into the air and blew it on to Whole Cake island, setting fire to a bunch of trees.

He watched him burn and said "That's my intention with your sister, it's not like the CP9 agent, the woman from Water 7, the nurse on Whitebeard's crew, the mermaid on Fishman Island, or the two Minks on Zou." he turned around and faced Sanji and said "The ocean's right behind me, I want your permission to go after your sister, frankly I don't care what your father says and if he becomes a problem I will fight him myself. I want your blessing."

Sanji stared at him and said "How much are you willing to sacrifice for that?" Viper said without hesitation "Everything." Sanji sighed and massaged his temples with one hand and stood up, he walked over to Viper and said "If you ever hurt my sister, I will kill you. No matter how strong you are." Viper grinned and said "Wouldn't have it any other way." Sanji grinned and said "Get a haircut you look sloppy in that suit." before laughing and walking out of the room. Viper watched him go and laughed as he turned around to watch the fire spread and said "Nothing can stop me.. Not even an emperor." he clenched his fist and it glowed with white light, unknown to Viper another person heard their whole conversation.

Hey guys! I thought that was a great ending! A nice little cliffhanger-san. Gets em every time. Mostly a Viper/Reiju chapter, I'm taking my time with Whole Cake Island as I think it's one of the best ARCs.
