When I finally reached the point where the explosion occurred, I saw a kid about my age comatose in a broken-down ship that was slowly sinking. As I looked at his face, I immediately knew who it was.

" Oh fuck, that's Douglas Bullet," I spoke to myself as I quickly moon-walked myself towards him before he sank into the sea along with the boat. When I reached him, I noticed there were at least 30 dead bodies around him. But I couldn't tell whether they were his allies or enemies.

Bullet's situation isn't any better as his wounds look quite serious and blood was leaking everywhere from his body. I quickly grabbed his right hand and put it around my neck before I geppo-ed back to the ship.

I put him in the ship's only bed and took out a first-aid kit. I stopped the bleeding first before I tried my best to close up all of his wounds. At times like those, I couldn't help but thank my mom and dad once again for everything they had taught me up until now, whether that was fighting, cooking, or even lessons on how to save lives.

[ One Hour Later ]

' Sigh, finally it's over.'

It took me around an hour to clean everything and make sure he wouldn't die from his wounds or blood loss. I managed to stabilize his body to the best of my ability although if I was a properly trained doctor, I could have done a much better job. Well, at least he won't die now thanks to my help.

I did one last check making sure I didn't miss anything that could endanger his life even more. But thankfully there was nothing of the sort, though there was a massive scar from his face down to his torso.

After I finished checking him and making sure nothing could go wrong with him, I headed outside so I can sail the ship towards the closet island to me, which happened to be Yellow island. I also checked on my prisoner who had handcuffs on both his legs and arms making sure he couldn't move. He was awake but I knocked him out once again.

' I'll turn in the bounty once Bullet wakes up. After all, what are the chances you can recruit a future yonko level powerhouse? Even if he says no now, I'll try to recruit him one way or another in the future. He'll be too important no to do so when I sail set in a few years.'

[ 40 Minutes Later ]

Finally, the ship reached Yellow Island which was a small size island covered with sand.

' Huh, this seems like a nice place for a vocation. I'll tell mom about it and see what she says about a family vacation here.

I got off the ship and just started relaxing on the beach wondering about my pirate crew. I want at least powerful 10 crew members as my main force. I already got the first crew member so now I need a swordsman, doctor, navigator, helmsman, and a shipwright along with a sniper.

I will be the cook of the ship since I don't wanna go looking for a cook who can fight as they are pretty rare. And Douglas can be the shipwright once he eats his devil fruit.

Though that is when he agrees.

[ 2 Hours Later ]

I was sunbathing on the beach near the ship when I heard someone calling me, forcing me to open my eyes.

" Hey, were you that one who saved me?" I heard Douglas shout out to me.

' Damn he's already awake and can move with all those wounds. What a monster. No way he's not joining my crew.' I thought to myself answering his question.

" Yeah, I saved your ass, though it is common courtesy to introduce yourself when speaking to a stranger," I called out as I reached the top of the top ship and sit down on top of a barrel.

" My name is Douglas Bullet. You have my appreciation for saving me." Bullet replied to me in a stoic voice. He had a confused face wondering maybe about how I was kicking the air.

" Douglas Bullet huh, my name's Achilles D. Spade. Nice to meet you." I spoke offering my hand for a handshake with a smile on my face hoping to make a first impression which seemed to work as he accepted my handshake.

" So how in the world did you get caught in that giant explosion?" I asked, while also making sure to tell him not to move so his wounds don't open up.

" Oh do not worry about it. Do you mind dropping me off on the island of Galzburg by chance?" Bullet asked surprising me a little cause of his personality.

' He's a lot more friendly than I imagined. Though he is very stoic, he hasn't used a single contraction since we started speaking, probably due to his military background.'

" You mean the military island?" Even though I already know about it I still made sure to ask. I did so we can get closer to somewhat being friends, even a little.

" Yes, that island. I need to return as fast as possible." Bullet replied with a worried face but quickly hid it.

" You don't seem like you don't want to return to the island? In that case, I have an offer to make. In a few years, I'm gonna set sail as a pirate and I want you to join my crew."

" So how about it?"

" While I am grateful for the fact you saved me, I do not find it wise to join someone I have just met."

" Yeah figured so, still worth a shot. But don't worry you gonna join my crew one way or another." I said with full confidence

" But I have already refused your offer," Douglas spoke seeming annoyed.

" Ya but, I refuse your refusal," I spoke with a smirk, as any One Piece fan would know what I just referenced. And hopefully, it would work as well as it did for Luffy.

" I… I don't think that is how it works." He spoke with a smile.

' Hah, it worked. I got him to at least let go of a bit of his stoicism, and even managed to make him use a contraction.' I thought in triumph.

" Well, you have a couple of years to think about. Who knows by then let's see whether you agree or not."
