The truth

'It finally makes some sense now' Aster thought 'Blake froze and Alexandra thought she had gone crazy when they saw the system screen.'

Aster snickered a bit, thinking about their reactions. It did not cross his mind that freaking out when a holographic screen suddenly pops out of nowhere is a perfectly normal thing to do and that he was the weird one.

"Anyways, now that you three have woken up, let's go somewhere comfortable to talk. I'm sure you have a ton of questions and we will answer them there so follow me" Said Alabaster.

"It might take a few minutes for us to get there so how about you tell us about your traits and attributes? Oh and to see your things, just say the command 'Status'"

"Status"

"Status"

Aster already saw his status so he didn't call out status so he tried to learn more about his system.

'Shop. Hmm no shop function, alright so let's try 'Skills''

At that moment, a blue holographic screen popped up in front of Aster.

[Passive skills]:[Mana sense Lv 2]

[Mana sense Lv 2]

[Progress: 19/100%]

<<Description: You can faintly sense mana in a 2-meter radius space>>

'My first skill… and It's already at level 2!'

As Aster was further studying his new skill, the other two were reporting everything they saw from their status screen to their respective teachers.

"I have [Earthling(inactive)], [Gaia] and [Unyielding]" Alexandra reported.

"Tell me more about the [Unyielding]. You need to focus on it to view its details."

"It says that my energy and mana usage has decreased by 20%. What does that mean?" She asked "Is it good?" she added meekly.

"Of course it's good! It might not be much now, but it will help you in the long run. Now, tell me, what are your attributes? It shows up as strength, agility, endurance, vitality, mana, intelligence and dexterity."

"I have 60hp, 30 energy, and 30 mana. I also have 6 strength, 5 agility, 3 endurance, 6 vitality, 3 mana, 4 intelligence and 7 dexterity."

"Good, any skills perhaps? Just say 'Skills' and the window will pop up. You don't have to say it out loud either."

"Oh alright… it seems I don't have any skills," Alexandra said with a meek voice. "Sorry", she quietly added.

Hearing her meek voice, Alex tried to comfort her "Oh it's fine. You have average stats so it isn't anything to worry about. The fact you survived the awakening process is an achievement that 20% of the people who try awakening don't have to be proud of themselves"

Alexandra knew he meant well when he said that but being called average dampened her mood further.

Meanwhile, Blake reported his status to Ares

***

"My attributes are [Earthling(inactive)], [Gaia] and [Stalwart]" Blake reported to Ares like a soldier.

Even though he was dumbfounded by all those awakened shit, he managed to keep his expression neutral with Ares around.

"Tell me what [Stalwart] does" he commanded.

"Yes, sir! It says that my companions get 10% of my attributes as a boost during combat" Blake replied with a voice that was forced to be calm.

'10% of my attributes??? What the fuck is this crazy screen saying, this is life, not some game' Blake thought in his head.

"What are your attributes?" Ares said after spending a few seconds thinking about how useful [Stalwart] can be.

"My attributes are 8 strength, 7 agility, 10 endurance and vitality, 6 mana, 3 intelligence, and 6 dexterity," said Blake.

"Attaboy! Did you hear that, Alabaster? Your training regime is shit, my ass. My student has the highest stats between the three of them!" Ares said with a glee. "Take that you piece of-"

"Aren't you forgetting someone?" Miss Silver suddenly cut him out "Aster, stop grinning at the wall like an idiot and tell us your attributes"

Aster who was lost in his thoughts was snapped back to reality. Still feeling giddy, he reread everything on his status page out loud

"My parents are [Earthling], [Gaia], and [Sloth] which doubles my passive regeneration when resting. My attributes are 6 strength and agility, 5 endurance, 7 vitality, 23 mana, 2 intelligence, and 4 dexterity. I have one passive skill called [Mana sense] and it is at level two." he replied with great enthusiasm.

He had overheard Blake's and Alexandra's stats and was pleasantly surprised when he found out that his combined attributes were higher than theirs. He also found out that his mana stat was abnormal but he chalked it up to him absorbing that crystal completely.

After a minute or so of silence, Ares finally said "At least my student has higher attributes than yours."

"Don't listen to him Alexandra, your attributes are fine, theirs are just a little higher than average. Nothing to be upset over ok? You can catch up quickly when you get to our world, there are an abundance of monsters and magic beasts there so you can level up fast."

Alex continued to comfort Alexandra but she wasn't listening at all. Instead, she was staring at Aster with burning determination.

It irked her how excited and enthusiastic he looked when her life just turned upside down. She had carefully planned her entire future, which university to go to, what grades she should aim for, and what career she would chase. She had planned everything but it looked like it wouldn't matter now because she 'awakened' but more than that Ares' comment had gotten to her heart.

Her attributes were bad so she was bad. She saw how Ares shut up when Aster told them he had 23 points of mana so she guessed it must be something important. She vowed to herself she would beat that score.

On the other hand, Blake couldn't give a shit to how high Aster's stats were. However, what he gave a shit about was what his awakening entailed.

After walking for a few more minutes they reached a metal door. A door that said 'Staff only'

"Sir Ares, what do we do now? And Mr. Alabaster said something about 'Our world' so what does that mean?" He asked.

"Alright, I guess it's confession time then?" He looked at Silver and Alex. They nodded

"Ok, Listen up kids, this is something very important but first let's take a seat," He says as he pushes the door open. Inside was a very spacious room with the walls reinforced with metal. There was barely any furniture except a few chairs. Following Ares' lead, the newly awakened students sat.

"It will take a long time if we want to explain to you so here", he says as he pulls a fist-sized white pearl out of nowhere, flabbergasting two and fueling the excitement of one. "This here is called [Recorder]. It records shit and we are gonna show you a recording. Prepare yourselves"

As he says that, a faint blue hue travels from his arm and into the pearl.

'It must be mana' Aster thought. His excitement level already reached the maximum threshold and he was laughing. 'And this might be mana sense at work. The mana is rain though.'

Once the pearl was charged, it released a linding light and something flashed inside Aster's head.

Aster struggled to deal with the sudden influx of information pouring directly into his head. From what he could understand was that humanity was at war with an unknown enemy but not the humanity he knew, rather it was humankind from a different world. The world that his teachers are from. A world that has mana, a world that has monsters, systems, and skills. A fantasy world according to today's standards! People from that world were low on manpower so they colonized Earth, destroyed the dominant species at the time which was dinosaurs, and kickstarted human evolution.

Now they were calling those humans back to their world. Soon an event called 'Convergence' will happen. The event will transport all humans on Earth. The reason why people were being awakened early like Aster was that a barrier needed to be erected for the convergence to happen.

Since they were going to be transported through space, a barrier was necessary as all sorts of cosmic radiation, energy, and miasma could cook everyone. Aster was promised basic supplies, free housing, and a bit of money when he arrived if he helped in the creation of the barrier

"What the hell? This is not what I was expecting at all"

"Now that you know what you will be doing, you all will be sent to your sectors. Alexandra, you will go with Alabaster to the south side of Avian city. That is your sector. You, lucky bastard, go with Silver to the western side of the city and Blake, we will go to the northern side. Dismissed"
