The next morning, I sat on my bed, drying my hair when a text from Sam came in. I let out a relieved sigh when I read the message which said he was fine. I sent back a text asking if he was coming to school today and he replied positively.
Bridget shuffled out from the bathroom with a towel around her body and one around her hair. She had just had a bath "I just realized that thanksgiving's around the corner and I'm yet to call home to ask if they have any plan laid out for me."
"That's right." I totally forgot about it too. My Thanksgiving I already knew was going to be here as usual but Bridget did not know how hers was going to be. "You should call them right now."
She pushed out the chair before the vanity table and sat down, picking up her phone and dialing a number. "Hey, mummy."
"Honey, how are you?" Aunt Linda's voice came through the speaker. She sounded busy but it was easy to hear the smile in her voice.
