The Alpha
Lucas stayed unmoving on the floor for a while and Imani's heart froze as she thought he had been knocked out but then realized he wasn't when he used his hands to slowly push himself up, getting to his knees with his head lowered. His chest rose and fell with rapid breaths as his body registered all the broken bones in it and began to heal them. Where the vampire had stabbed him still stung like a bitch and it wouldn't heal anytime soon because the blade had been dipped in wolfsbane.
Imani's eyes darted from Lucas to a vampire that walked past her with a bottle containing a purple liquid in his hand. She instantly recognized it as wolfsbane and the liquid was obviously concentrated seeing as its colour was a dark purple. The vampire began to unscrew the cap of the bottle, intending to pour its content on Lucas, and terror washed over Imani because it was going to burn his skin right off.
