As little harry gazed at his brother he couldn't help but get angry and as he stared the anger turned to resignation. He was a product of a mistake, a bastard child that deserved no love. His mother died at the age of 2. His father James Potter took him in simply because he did not want to ruin the image of the wizarding world's savior Charles Potter. With no attention and being treated as a house elf he grew up to hate his childhood.
The turning point in his life came when he was 8.
But I don't want him there. He will spoil the fun." Charles said.
Harry couldn't help but sneer in his mind. As a child Charles was extremely spoilt receiving anything he wanted by simply asking for it.
Cassandra sighed and replied "Neither do I but we can't leave him alone in our house. Sirius and Lupin have left for Albania and won't be back till the end of next week". Seeing his expression, "Don't worry, he will stay in the tent and not come out."
Just then the door burst open and James potter entered,"Padfoot jr. ready for your first world cup?"
"Been waiting for it since they announced it" Charles grinned cheekily.
"Got a special portkey from Amelia. It will directly take us within the wards. The tent is already set up. Just need to wait for few more minutes for it to activate." James said as he gave Cassandra a chaste kiss and put the briefcase on the table.
As time drew near the four touched the briefcase. They felt the familiar pull of the portkey being whisked away to a six bedroom tent which was bigger from the inside. Harry gawked at the beautiful tent but immediately snapped out of it when Charles bumped into him.
Harry quickly moved away from the three unwilling to be in such close proximity with them. As he left the room Charles dragged his parents towards the stadium to fill his pockets with souvenir and Quidditch merchandise. He waited and till he was sure they left then immediately grabbed the bag he had carefully packed ever since he knew he was going. As soon as he was clear he ran from that tent intent on never returning to the awful place he was forced to call home.
Lily pov
She was angry at herself, angry at James Potter and angry at the world for playing such a cruel trick on her.
First that Potter left her because his parents were not happy with her. They wanted him to marry a girl who came from a respected family. He put up some resistance but quickly gave up. He then had the audacity to think of her as just a school fling.
But did it stop there? Oh no, the world wasn't done with her. She found out that she was pregnant. With his child.
She ran from Britain and raised her Harry for two years before falling sick. James arrived at that moment and promised to take care of Harry and told her that he repented leaving her but he had no choice. She thought that the James she knew was back and was truly sorry.
What she did not know was that he wanted to take harry to his family tree to have his name removed as his heir and replace his name with Charles. By the time he removed his name Lily died finally giving up her will to live hoping that he would take care of her.
James pov
When he learnt that lily had died, he knew that he had to take care of Harry. Even though Harry was his son, he did not know what to feel about him. He never knew about his existence until the Potter tree updated a year ago. He hated that he had to trick her into giving his son. He thought that he would be able to return him after a few days after removing him as the potter heir but that was not possible. He decided that he would ignore him in the house as his emerald eyes made him feel guilty for lily's death.
Now all he needed to know was how he was going to introduce him to Cassandra as he never informed her about Harry.
Cassandra pov
How dare that whore bear her James' child? She knew that the mudblood must have used Amorentia. How else could a noble Potter fall for her? It was good that she was dead and James was free of her. She would make sure that her child would not be affected by that freak. She would also need to make sure that James did not get too close to that boy. A couple of compulsion charms to ignore him would work.
She believed that pushing that freak away from her perfect family was the best course of action. After all she knew what was best for them.
Sirius pov
As he was going through the store with his close friend Lupin he couldn't help but think of his godson Charles. After he was named his godfather two years ago he immediately named the eldest Potter his heir. He had no hope of having a child due to a curse that was placed on him by Bellatrix. She said that he would sully the honor of the Black family by marrying a mudblood.
He scowled as that memory resurfaced. He quickly dispelled that memory and focused on his other tasks such as what to get for his godson.
He hoped to return to Grimmauld's place but he could not bear to stay at that place with his mother's painting constantly yelling at him and that house elf that preached pureblood supremacy. Oh well, he could have that place levelled and remove all the dark wards as he owned the place. Then he could build a much better place on that site.
Now that would be the best prank he could pull over his parents. He could already feel his mother rolling in her grave.
Remus pov
Remus was thankful to Charles Potter. He was responsible for the death of You-Know-Who. Closely after his death, many of his followers were caught. To his biggest surprise even Fenrir was caught and quickly executed by Fudge with the help of Umbridge. She had tried to use this to ban all werewolves but was luckily stopped by Dumbledore. Unfortunately Peter Pettigrew managed to escape after blasting half the street and killing many muggles and a lone auror who managed to corner him.
Lupin was shocked to see his shy friend act in such a manner.
As Lupin walked with Sirius his mind wandered towards James' other child. He felt that Charles would grow happy with a brother who took care of him. He felt that the Potter family was complete and would take the wizarding world to newer heights together.
He would only understand in his later years about how wrong he would be.
Dumbledore pov
As he saw the lightning bolt scar on young Charles head he could feel dark magic oozing out with the familiar magic signature of Tom Riddle. He believed that this was due to the rebounding curse on Tom.
He had a strong feeling that Tom was alive and usually his feelings were never wrong. For the prophecy to be fulfilled young Potter needed to be trained.
As he put another toffee into his mouth he mused that with this he had serviced the world enough and decided to pass the rein on to Charles. After all he was sure with the help of love from his parents and knowledge from Dumbledore himself, Charles would grow into a fine young man and continue to look after wizarding world for him.
