Chapter 6

Nemo was slightly satisfied that the guard was being torn apart as he was running through the chaotic marketplace; too bad he couldn't do it himself, but at least he has been dealt with.

His plated tail was pretty banged up right now, and Nemo needed a place to rest, so it won't help much against the undead and monsters that were running around the hub and attacking anyone they lay their eyes on!

Nemo's tired and bleeding body won't be able to do much since the scent of his blood was like a damned beacon for anything hungry for flesh and blood.

While He could still fight using his arms and legs, if he tried fighting now, it'll get troublesome trying to get away from the growing numbers of potential attackers.

*CLANG*

Was the sound that made every living being in the hub freeze.

With good reason too, The gate that blocked the horde of undead fell and what happened next was plain to see for anyone near it.

The hungry growls and roars of the undead and monsters reverberated throughout the city, before seeing something like a tidal wave of these creatures heading for anyone that lived in this place.

The horde had broken through, now everyone had to find a way to escape this soon-to-be hellhole and survive outside of it!

People will regard him as a disabled person thanks to his missing arm.

Regardless of the current situation, Nemo needed to figure out how he is going to rest for a while as using the echolocation and his perception to limit was incredibly taxing for him.

Hah~

He released a mental sigh while the growing migraine Nemo was suffering gradually sapped away at his energy as he endured it, The pain he was feeling now was definitely better than dying!

The place he reached, at the very edge of the town, was an empty- no abandoned storm house is the better term as his skill provided him with the information of the whole building's floors in range as he entered.

There were skeletons inside judging from how they were positioned and sprawled out like they were probably some minor faction that was 'erased'.

With no rotting clothes or rusty weapons around, since clothes and any usable metals were precious.

Nemo, in his rush to escape the dozen pursuing undead, smashed through the front door with his shoulder thanks to how rotten it was, that was an easy task, however, thanks to his pursuers the additional weight wasn't a good thing for these creaking and rotting wooden floors, thus the additional weight caused them to break through the floor below then the next continuing on until they reached the last floor.

Nemo on his back was aching all over he was about to move, well... tried to, before the sound of the floor cracking grew louder and gave out taking him along with it.

It was actually six floors including the rooftop meaning that they feel four floors down if could count it properly right now.

With the growing headache that helped him see the current situation, Nemo could 'see' some of the wood and stone pierced his skin digging into his flesh as he was buried with a piece of metal sticking out of his chest, luckily for him, only two of the pointed debris managed to do some damage.

It missed some of the organs he was still using but a frayed piece of wood wasn't pleasant as it scratched his insides and even moving a little wasn't helping, now the cracked ribs shifted a bit as bone rubbing against each other hurt like inhaling a cup of pepper with glass stuffed inside his chest and the metal shaft that somehow wedged itself between his rib entering from the back exiting through the front.

Many of his health pools were borderline negative other than the tail with his chest obviously the worst out of them all.

None of the undead had complete bodies, some of them were injured on the way down, a majority of them were crushed under the debris, The faceless man was lucky due to two things.

His tail, and the frayed wood and piece of metal that was stuck in his guts blocked the large piece of building materials that could have squashed him completely.

Nemo braced himself clearing away the debris that covered him with his dwindling strength so that it will be easier to do the next required task once he was out of the rubble.

After rolling onto his side, Nemo grabbed hold of the stick that was causing so much trouble before pulling it out, after several tries since some of the barbed pieces of wood grated against his stomach and liver, it was necessary even if it was painful as hell, he lost some of his medical supplies when he escaped the damned tidal Wave of monsters, good thing he always keeps a portion strapped to his person.

Now for the more dangerous part, that piece of metal that was dangerously close to his heart and some parts of this object had jagged teeth, as for why it had that, Nemo didn't know but now he had to remove it before the legless undead that was crawling towards his location finally reaches him.

Thus while making use of his echolocation that allowed him to see how to avoid any greater damage with a single tap on the metal shaft, Nemo braced himself before twisting it to avoid getting his heart getting cut by the jagged teeth then yanked it out in one go sure it damaged his other organs but that was better than letting a MAJOR organ get damaged.

Once that was settled, with the undead being in the range of his tail, not only did he get rid of a threat but also gave himself the necessary 'nutrition' to recover faster before pulling out one of the few packs of medicine that he had left.

It was a healing/anti-inflammatory ointment, the martial bandages that he had wrapped around his arms and legs worked nicely as wrapping for his wounds.

The noise of fighting, and those zombies with spiders running around near his location, said it all as this area won't be safe for long, then again nowhere in this city will be safe anymore.

Nemo began checking his limbs for any injuries, sure enough, his left foot was twisted in a hideous manner and his right thigh and hip on the same side were busted and broken.

Nemo won't be able to walk that's for sure so as would any person would do in this situation tried rolling it seemed smart, at the time, but the sharp grating pain from his ribs said otherwise he needed to get into a prone position for him to crawl better.

The hungry growls not too far from his location were telling him to hurry up or become the newcomer's food.

Nemo reached one of the empty rooms as quietly as possible despite the treatment he had done for his wounds but the smell of his blood that was leftover on the ground was working against him as a zombie was getting closer to his location!

He managed to get inside one of the dusty rooms before a roar of primal fury nearly brought the floor crashing down.

Before the sound of munching echoed through the area, the newcomer was feasting upon the ripped-up bodies of the undead that chased after Nemo.

The faceless man closed the door as the thing that was looking for him was following his blood trail. Using his echolocation sparingly at the moment, Nemo found several small weapons that he could use at this moment. A batch of rusted throwing knives and a butt load of crossbow ammo called toothpicks looked like long needles.

The room he was in was the former arsenal room of the former owners, it was already plundered, but the people that took the stuff either ignored these treasures or left in a hurry, many people that were unfamiliar with them treated them like trash since they would tickle most monsters. Still, it could be so much more in his hands, and it will do for now.

The thing that was hunting him just outside of the door was a zombie that moved around like an animal, using all four limbs it was a former human female from the scent of sex coming from her, it was the girl that gave 'birth' to the hybrid, Nemo, however, assumed that multiple men had their way with this one before it managed to break free thanks to the amount of cloudy mess that covered her.

It was peering through the hole in the door, trying to find the source of the blood.

Since it was peeping, a whistling punisher struck the eye~

A needle came flying, digging into the peeking eye!

Nemo was happy about his battle-ready body's passive corrections for anything obviously 'battle' related.

A pained grunt followed as the sound of it thrashing about could be heard. It was pissed, but right now, Nemo could care even less for that. He needed to stay calm so he may live for another day.

The zombie came crashing through the door sending splinters around one eye that was ruined. Still, it took a moment to find who it was looking for before it charged towards the man that was leaning against a wall holding a bunch of throwing knives in his barely functioning hands that were twitching from pain and how tired he was.

Nemo had to endure, which was why he flung the projectiles towards the zombie. They didn't all hit the intended target; however, 5 of the knives that hit its head with a bunch of needles were enough for killing it, ruining its beautiful face but at least he lived for today.

The injured man returned to bandaging his wounds with what was left of his medkit, using what he had left of the toothpicks and throwing knives as crude supporters for the broken leg before twisting the left foot back into place. It didn't do the job completely. Still, it was better than leaving it be, and then while shivering from the pain, he used his cracked and ruined tail, which barely functioned the way it should, to eat the zombie lest it wakes up and attacks him again.

Since ALL of the undead were that resilient and capable of recovering should they be given the time!

A few hours should help him heal a bit. His tail consumed the corpse finally due to how badly damaged it was, then when he was somewhat healed up, his right side is a bit more tolerable. The left foot can handle some weight, the fighting and some explosions were still going on top, and the occasional hungry roars made him uneasy every time he heard it.

The points he received told him it was a good choice as the zombie body gave him 9 points meaning that she had some hidden passengers.

Once, he managed to gain some much-needed strength while pushing himself.

Nemo blocked the doorway with some rotten wood and one of the cabinets and put stones inside it to have some weight to give him some time in case he was discovered.

Using the spare cloth that he had, Nemo soaked up the blood trail in the room and those the bloodied rag to the rubble to eliminate most of the traces of blood that would attract any undead or monsters to this room.

Nemo's skill was sapping away his consciousness as the range dwindled to where he could only sense things within a few feet away.

Nemo thought back on the stuff he had to deal with. The growth he experienced was needed, and now he had to get some sleep afterward get his stuff from his secret cache for food and supplies.

So that he can completely take care of his injuries or possible disabilities, the only good thing about Kenshi was the unnatural recovery abilities the people had. He had hoped that it applies in this world or he might wake up being nearly dead.

After double, no, triple-checking his crude defenses, Nemo finally collapsed to a corner, with his weapons behind him, that was farthest away from his defenses.

The adrenaline that had been pushing him through all this finally wore out as the sandman threw an extra dose of sleeping sand as it brought him into the embrace of dreams.

Nearby through a hole in one of the walls was a little red spider that came out to check out its new fellow resident it was red and barely the size of a hand as the eight eyes gleamed with a peculiar light before making their way to the man that was in a deep sleep.

Uhoh what did the last part mean I wonder hehe
