Chapter 14- Haru’s birthday celebration

The next morning, after Haru and Kakashi did their daily exercise, they took a break for today and went with Rin together with Kushina and went shopping.

Walking around the marketplace, many sellers on the stalls greeted Rin since she bought many ingredients and things from them.

"Rin-san, you are out today, came to buy something?" Ask the vegetable seller aunt

"Ara~ Tsukki-san, yes I am out shopping with my family today"

"Oh, I see you bought Haru and Kakashi with you today, oh and Kushina too"

"Hello Auntie," greeted the three

The seller smiles at them and looks at Rin and said, "So, what are you buying today, all my vegetables are fresh"

"Yes Tsukki-san, I am buying some vegetables for this week, and also I want to place an order for some vegetables for next week since it's Haru's birthday"

"Ara is that so, how old is little Haru next week?" She asks Haru

Haru smiled at her and said, "I am turning 5, next week auntie"

"I see, then I will add extra for next week, it is my gift for him"

"Thank you, Tsukki-san," said Rin

Tsukki wave her hand and said, "Well, you always bought from me, it's the least I can do"

Rin smiled and she paid for the vegetables she bought and gave them to Haru, Haru noticing the shopping bag his mother gave him, look at her dumbfounded and a bad feeling rose from his heart.

And sure enough, every time they went to a store, his mother always gave the bag to them to carry, well it is also a good thing since the bag has weight and it is like training to the both of them.

But as women are, they bought a lot of things and it took a long time to go from one store to another, it is a good thing that Kushina is also with them since she also carries some bags with her.

After some time, Kushina excuse herself since she will meet Minato,

"Rin-nee, I will go for now and meet Minato"

"Ara is that so, then you can give the bags to me and I'll carry it,"

Kushina nodded and went away, Rin look at the two kids and saw the sweat on their forehead, she looks around and saw an ice cream stand and said,

"Haru, Kakashi, let's buy some ice cream and you wait here for me, I will buy some other ingredients on that store over there, okay"

The two kids nodded, and Rin went to buy ice cream and gave the two, she then brought them to a bench near the store and left.

Haru and Kakashi ate the ice cream in relish, since it is a little hot outside and they kept walking for a long time, it is a good thing that their stamina had increase as a result of their daily training.

The ice cream is very creamy, with its vanilla taste, it has the right sweetness, and it is a great snack for a hot day. While Haru is licking his ice cream, some of the creams were left near his lips, Kakashi saw this and said,

"Haru, there is a cream on the side of your lips"

Haru heard Kakashi and look at him and tried to use his tongue to lick the cream on his lips, the pink tongue kept finding the cream since he can't use his hands to wipe the cream due to the shopping bags he is holding,

"Where is it?" said Haru while he keeps on licking his lips,

Kakashi looks at this and sighs, he wanted to raise his hands but notices that his hands are not available, his right hand is holding the ice cream while his left is holding the shopping bags.

Kakashi went closer to Haru and leaned his face near him, and he uses his tongue to lick the cream on Haru's face innocently like a little puppy.

After doing that, he looks at Haru's red face and said,

"There it is now gone,"

Haru was shocked silly by what Kakashi did and said,

"Wh-what a-are you doing, Kakashi?"

He said stuttering,

"I lick it since my hands are not free," Kakashi answered innocently

Haru took a deep breath to calm himself down, and stared at Kakashi questionably, and thought,

'If I have not known that you are a kid, I would have thought that you took advantage of me'

Haru sighs deeply and calmed his rapidly beating heart, this is the first time Haru experience something like this, even in his past life, he did not experience someone licking him, and it made him a little uncomfortable.

Haru took a deep breath, and quickly swallowed the remaining ice cream in his mouth not noticing the coldness it brought to his body until he felt freezing pain on his head,

"Ow! Ow! Ow!"

He exclaimed while holding his head, Kakashi was surprised when he saw this and ask anxiously

"Haru what's wrong?"

"Brain freeze!"

Haru answered while he took a deep breath to ease the pain and sat down on the bench

"Brain freeze?" Kakashi asks confusedly

Haru massage his temples and said, "Y-yes, brain freeze, it is a phenomenon in which you experience brief but intense pain when you eat something cold, like ice cream"

"But I also ate ice cream, how come I don't feel any pain,"

"That's because I ate it rapidly and abruptly"

Kakashi laughs at Haru's demise and said, "Hahaha are you very hungry that you just rapidly ate your ice cream"

"And who do you think is the reason I experience this," murmured Haru

"Did you say something?"

"No"

Kakashi stared at Haru while licking his remaining ice cream, his pink tongue licking the ice cream thoroughly, Haru look at this and he gulps unconsciously,

And then they heard a voice in front of them,

"Haru, Kakashi, where is Rin-nee?"

They turned their heads and saw Kushina with Minato behind her and behind them is a man with long white hair wearing a ninja outfit with a large scroll on his back,

"Kushina-nee, Minato-nii," wave Haru and said,

"She is still at the store and wanted to buy something,"

"I see," Kushina said while she arrived at the two

"Minato-nii, you are here"

Minato nodded at Haru, and he notices that he is looking behind him and said,

"Haru, Kakashi, me-"

But before he could finish his introduction he heard a voice behind him,

"Ara~ Minato you are here"

He turned around and saw Rin walking towards them with a lot of shopping bags in her hands, Minato went to her and carried the bags, Rin smiled and said,

"Thank you Minato-kun"

"Rin-san, it's okay"

Rin smiled and noticed the man on the side and said,

"Ara~ Jiraiya is also here,"

"Eh? Rin-san, you also knew Jiraiya-sensei?" ask Minato

"Of course, I know him, he is one of the legendary Sannin and Tsunade's teammates,"

Jiraiya laughs and said, "Long time no see, Rin-san"

"Long time no see; it's been a while since I last saw you"

"Well, something happened after the war"

"I see, well, it is good that you came back, I heard that you will be teaching Minato?"

"Yes, he is a genius so it is just right that a genius like me should teach him," he said smugly

Rin just giggled at him and said, "Well, anyway, I will invite you to come to Haru's birthday next week"

"Haru?"

Rin nodded and introduced Haru to him, "This is my son, Haru"

"Hello Jiraiya-ojii-san"

"Oji??! Kozo, I am just 2 years younger than your mother"

"Oh!" answered Haru blankly

"Rin-san, your son is just like you, such a bully," Jiraiya said despairingly

They all laugh at him, and Rin said, "My my, please don't mind Haru, Jiraiya. Oh, and meet Kakashi, Sakumo-nii's son"

Jiraiya look at the silver-haired kid and said, "Nice to meet you, Kakashi"

"Hello, Jiraiya-san"

Jiraiya nodded and said, "Rin-san, I will leave for now since I did not yet report to the Hokage, I will surely come next week, and Minato we will start our training tomorrow"

Rin and Minato nodded and they all wave goodbye to him. After that, they carried all the bags on the bench and went home.
