Calm wind shuffled in the air, lifting Zeus's hair upwards. Moonlight fell upon him, causing his blueish eyes to become even more distinctive. This was the calmness after the battle, and the strong stench of blood was still present in the air.
Zeus had left that secluded place a few minutes ago, quickly finding his way back to the village. However, it looked much different in comparison to before. Almost everything was in ruin.
He walked through the main gate, guards not present. The cries of the kids were the first thing that he heard, followed by the sight of hundreds of bodies littering the ground. They were everywhere: On the streets, beneath the rubbles, or even on top of them.
People walked back and forth, searching for their relatives. Zeus passed through them unhindered, keeping an indifferent face. As he walked further into the village, towards the place where that monster had initially been summoned, he stumbled upon two different groups of shinobi arguing with each other.
It didn't take him long to realize that one group consisted of mainly Uchiha. Interested, Zeus walked closer to hear what they were talking about.
"You bastards! It was you who did it, right? I saw that monster's eyes." A shinobi from one side shouted, veins clear on his forehead. "It's those fucking sharingan eyes! I swear I am going to make each of you blind today!"
"Why are you so mad? I have just recently become a chunin! How can I be related to this in any way?" The Uchiha answered, also slowly growing agitated. A few men behind his back grabbed onto their weapons. "But if you threaten me once again, I will make you regret it."
"Oh yeah? I have lost my wife because of you fuckers... might as well just go wild then." The man who shouted previously started preparing some jutsu. The two sides could no longer contain their fury and rushed at each other. However, at that moment, a kid appeared in the middle of them, his eyes blistering with killing intent.
"Stop," Zeus ordered and suddenly everyone halted in their tracks. They didn't understand why did they do so, as some of the shinobi didn't even notice the kid. However, Zeus's orderly voice, filled with killing intent, was something that made their instincts go wild.
"This place has seen enough blood today, so don't force me to do something I wouldn't want to do," Zeus said with an indifferent expression, as all the shinobi gulped their built-up saliva. It almost seemed like there was an entity hovering above Zeus, scaring them to their death wits.
Seeing that their anger and agitation towards each other were clearly gone, Zeus disappeared from the spot, continuing to make his way inwards to the village. He saw some similar scenes as the previous one happening everywhere but decided to ultimately ignore them.
Finally, after some searching, Zeus found the place that he had been looking for. There was a huge recess formed in the ground, clearly the aftermath of containing that monster's heavy weight. Quite a big group was gathered around this crater, among them being some people Zeus recognized at first glance.
However, what attracted Zeus's most attention was the golden-haired man lying on the ground with his eyes closed. Along with him, Kushina lay, her face pale and lifeless. Crimson blood unfurled from the huge holes in their chests, compelling Kushina's red hair to turn an even darker shade.
They were...really dead.
Zeus felt a bit of pity. They were good people, and strong too, both mentally and physically. Looking around, Zeus searched for Naruto, eventually noticing Hiruzen in the crowd, holding onto the yellow-haired infant.
"Old man, are you alright?" Zeus came over to him from behind, tapping him on the shoulder. Slowly, Hiruzen turned around and Zeus saw his lifeless, drained eyes. His expression was that of despair and regret. However, it brightened up a bit when Hiruzen saw Zeus.
"As you can see, everything has gone awry." Hiruzen put his hand on Zeus's shoulder, as he glanced at Zeus and saw the hundreds of little injuries covering his body. "It seems like you have caused some trouble again. Still, it's good that you aren't injured seriously."
"Don't worry. This is lightwork for Bikawo." Zeus answered but instead saw Hiruzen's eyes shake once again. His wrinkles deepened and it seemed like he had grown 10 years older after this day.
"Bikawo...she was injured during the invasion. The medical team is currently treating her, but they said that it is unlikely that she will be able to walk again." Hiruzen mumbled with a hoarse sigh, his face resembling a broken toy. Naruto suddenly burst out crying in his hands, and Hiruzen moved his hands to calm the kid down. "That's also why I am currently in deep thought. Minato...before dying, asked me to care for Naruto, but Bikawo will be unable to do so, and Asuma is busy with Jonin's missions. Perhaps it might be better to just send Naruto to an orphanage."
"An orphanage?" Zeus mumbled, staring at Naruto in Hiruzen's hands, especially at the seal on his stomach. He could feel it; that violent and disturbing chakra hidden deeply within this kid, along with its divinity. It wasn't too difficult to understand what Minato had done, for Zeus already knew of Jinchuriki. "Don't you think that Naruto will have a difficult life being completely alone? His life had already turned difficult, having lost parents, but now people will also avoid and hate him due to the beast sealed within him."
"I know, Zeus," Hiruzen said, his head put down, as if it was difficult for him to carry the weight of his own words.
Zeus sighed. "Alright, old man. Just hire a temporary maid that will take care of Naruto. When she is not there, I can help out. Bikawo doesn't need to do anything."
Hiruzen raised his head. "But you are just six, Zeus. I know that you are very mature for your age, but raising a kid is much more difficult than you believe."
'Oh, don't tell me about kids.' Zeus thought to himself, glancing at Minato's dead body. "I am sure. The least we can do to honor Minato is to make sure that his son doesn't grow up hated and despised, but instead loved and cared for. A place to call home is the backbone of a man's childhood."
