I stared at the screen in anticipation as I successfully finished performing the same dash and jab move for the 24th time. Leveling up the skill was both easy and hard at the same time. I didn't need to do all the katas to level up the skill as any of the 15 katas would have worked.
I was able to successfully do the move on average 2 out of three times. So in all honesty it didn't take me long to get to this stage. My body was in a much better shape than... I guess I don't have much in the form of anything to compare it to. This memory wipe thing is quite annoying. Still, I wasn't even winded from this amount of exercise.
As I dashed and jabbed once again, maybe in my excitement I botched the motion. I cursed and backed up again, after concentrating and hyping myself once again I repeated the same motion that I had been doing for the last 20 minutes. I soon as I finished the motion I froze. A weird feeling overcame me as I felt strange, alien sensations travel through my muscles.
My body felt out of control for barely a moment before memories of how to perform all the katas of the Taijutsu style were imprinted on my mind. The process was disorienting as I stumbled back, using the edge of the table to stabilize myself before I sat down on my bed. When I tried to think about how to perform the jab again I realized I had countless memories of performing the same jab.
After a moment I stood up and got into stance once again, the distance between my feet was more standard this time, I didn't even have to consciously adjust. Even though I didn't have much sense about my balance, I could still feel the difference. My body was more stable even though I was leaning forward, my body weight was divided perfectly on my right leg as I pushed.
I wasn't any faster but I would bet that more of my body weight was behind this next jab. For the next couple of minutes, I went berserk, dashing left and right in the room, zooming and fighting against imaginary enemies until a sudden shout stopped me.
"WHO'S THAT MAKING SUCH A RUCKUS!!!"
The voice was distinctly male, and considering I didn't know if it was my landlord or another tenant, I decided to stop this experiment for now. Still, the moves that I was making amazed me, but then again I need to be proficient enough in these things if I want to survive.
'I should go to the training ground and grind, even though I would take a hell of a lot longer to level up this or maybe any skill...'

'If just gaining level one in any skill would provide this much advantage, then there is no point in not learning anything.' I thought as I looked through my desk again, I quickly found three more scrolls like the Taijutsu one, though two of these looked brand-new and the third looked like it was opened just a couple of times.

'''Basic ShurikenJutsu'''
'''Basic Calligraphy'''
'''Basic First Aid'''
...
'I could live without Calligraphy and First Aid for now, though I need to get Level 1 in ShurikenJutsu today.'
With the plan clear, I left the two unopened scrolls back on the table and grabbed the scroll for Shuriken throwing and Taijutsu, just in case. I wanted to store them in my inventory so I needed to try a couple of ways to put things in the inventory.
After a few minutes of trial and error, I had a basic understanding of how Inventory worked. There were two ways, as of now, to put items in the inventory. Either I could place the item in the grid directly. Thinking about putting the item away also worked. The mental command had a little more variation as I could direct in which slot I wanted the item to be stored.
'This will do, there seems to be no cooldown in between uses, I wonder if I could make use of my inventory in combat scenarios or if there are some other restrictions.'
Experimenting would have to wait till later though as I started searching my wardrobe for anything else that might be useful. I found a couple of things that I had been wondering where they were at. A pouch of bills and coins that should be this world's currency and a weapon pouch that had 10 kunai and shuriken each.
'Why was I not carrying these to the academy, surely they are not prohibited. Especially since these are blunted and shouldn't be dangerous.' I stared at the kunai that had rounded corners, though the pointy tip could still poke someone in the eye. Other than it being a heavy object and could do some blunt damage there should be no reason that 'Akio' didn't have the pouch with him.
'Speaking of damage, how does that work, I don't have an HP bar or anything so there shouldn't be a number min-maxing right?'
I had plenty of questions that needed to be answered, it's not like there was a manual on how to survive after reincarnating into another world right?

I let my words hang, daring the world to prove me wrong but upon receiving no instructions I decided not to waste time and left the room. The sliding door did get me as I tried to push one time before remembering the unlocking mechanism. A quick look around and then I went straight for the front door.
'Map' I thought and the whole village was once again in front of me.
'Should I?' The urge to tinker with this source of knowledge was a little too much to ignore as I thought about zooming out. Unfortunately, the map was stuck in a certain radius around me.
'Whatever, something is better than nothing.' A little miffed that my gamer system was kind of nerfed. The fact that I had one was a big bonus anyway.
'As long as I can maintain the rate at which I learn things I'll be alright!'
