9 Grinding! Part-2

I was walking through Konoha, taking in the sights of one of the strongest villages in the Elemental nations. People looked happy and it wasn't just basic politeness. Kids were playing around, their laughter and shrieks filled the streets as shops were full of people looking and browsing through the multitude of things to buy.

The sight filled me with a slight sigh of relief, the quality of life of civilians was a good indicator of the strength of the village and its administration. Hiruzen might have messed up a lot when it came to Naruto and maybe even the Hyuga Clan incident, he portrayed himself as weak in those scenarios to the other villages. But at least the rest of the villagers were somewhat shielded.

I was quite conflicted with how Hiruzen was portrayed in the original manga, there were so many things working against him, Naruto's situation, Neji's situation, Uchiha's situation, Orochimaru's situation...

'There are a lot of these incidents aren't there...' I sighed. My conflicted feelings regarding the village aside, I focused on my current situation. As time continued to pass, I realized I had spent quite a while in this new world. Several things stood out a bit odd to him.

'I'm an Uchiha who had somehow slipped past anyone's notice, otherwise, I would most likely already be in a dungeon following orders from a bandaged man. I'm not going to try to think about how this situation is even possible and focus on my next plan. I need to train and get stronger. While the system will probably make sure that I could be stronger than most of my class, to truly surpass the likes of Naruto and Saskue who could take a nap after getting smacked around by Madara and come back stronger than him would be hard...'

'Those were some bullshit powerups that Kishimoto pulled out of his ass... Let's forget that for a moment, I can't barge into any training ground, right? I wonder if I'm allowed to or not?'

The questions that might seem like general knowledge to someone else bugged me, in the end, I decided to play it safe and use the one training ground that I knew I could use.

After following the familiar path I once again stood in front of the academy, this time instead of going to the building I walked through the ground around it until I arrived at the same spot where Hinata and I had a short conversation half an hour ago. The two boys that were having a spar were nowhere to be seen so I had a little more privacy, though such a tangible thing is not guaranteed in the shinobi world.

I opened the pocket of my pants and pushed my right hand into it, I thought about pulling the scroll out of my inventory and a familiar scroll appeared in my hand. Pulling the scroll out I walked over to the target range that was attached to the side. There was a line that was clearly marked for a purpose so I at least had somewhere to start with.

I opened the scroll and began reading.

...

'''Basic Shurikenjutsu'''

'''Shurikenjutsu is one of the basic forms of shinobi art that involves using throwable weapons to gain either an advantage in battle or to finish a targetted attack. While many do not believe it is an important part of their arsenal, a well-placed kunai is as lethal as a chakra-intensive fireball. Timing and angles are the two main principles behind Shurikenjutsu, even if its basic form merely is there for a more standard throwing form.'''

'''There are many ways to throw shuriken and kunai at a target, different forms emphasize the use of different muscle groups that are required to throw the weapons. The most common and standard one that is described in this scroll allows the user to get familiar with the act of using the weapons itself...'''

...

The instructions were rather mundane and so were the instructions, there were just two stances that were depicted in the scroll and the only difference between the two was the motion of the throw. At least the skill was simple enough, I was expecting it to be a lot more complicated.

I opened the weapon pouch that was now attached to my thigh and pulled out one shuriken from it. Taking a firm stance, this time with my dominant foot forward, I drew my hand back parallel to my chest and whipped it toward the target. The shuriken was held between my index finger and my thumb.

The target range was just 20m away, not too far away but I didn't have to be concerned about underpowering my throw, my PHY stat made sure that the shuriken flew true to its mark though it was a little embarrassing when the shuriken thumped away after collided with the board.

I looked around and after making sure that no one was around to see my shuriken easily deflected by the board, I checked on the proficiency window that appeared due to the activity.

...

[COR Lv 6 {72/600}]{+1 Exp}

[Basic Shurikenjutsu Lv 0 {1/50}] {+1 Exp}

...

'Coordination again? I can understand that a lot of control is required in order to limit my strength during these controlled motions, but surely some other stat would also gain EXP. As the shuriken flew pretty fast, surely I should get at least 1 EXP in Vision...' I bargained as I pulled out another shuriken from my pouch. Granted that I had 10 shurikens in my weapon pouch, it shouldn't take me long to get to level 1 of the skill.

At the same time, I had somewhat figured out how the system worked. Each action that can be confined to a given skill would give one exp, maybe more but I don't know for now. And each action that exceeds my current attribute would grant an EXP in said attribute.

Like when I tried the basic jab the first time, although I didn't gain any EXP in the skill because I was not able to complete the action related to the skill, I got 1 EXP in both Physique and 1 in Agility because I had tried to move as fast as possible, and 1 EXP in Coordination because I was not able to control my body even though I tried.

But when I tried the same thing in a controlled manner, all I got was EXP toward Coordination stat because I was not pushing my body to its limit, rather I was trying to control its power.

Another shuriken dinged off the target as I frowned at the board, even though I was consistently getting EXP for hitting the target and the exercise was going rather well, that none of them got stuck was still bothering me.

Before I could move forward to collect the shuriken, a sudden voice appeared from behind me causing me to jump in surprise.

"Thank Kami, I was beginning to get worried about you Akio-kun!"
