Chapter 151 - Operation Escape From The Land Of The Wind 04.

Land of Sand, Year 38.

As the explosion still echoed through the desert, drowning out Shukaku's screams, dust was raised where the Kazekage and his group should have been, but when it finally began to dissipate, it revealed a huge black pyramid made of iron sand.

At that moment, the iron started to disperse as the Kazekage looked into the air, searching for any trace of Minato, but there was no longer any sign of him.

"He disappeared..." Rasa murmured...

"How did he manage to get away right under our noses... but I still wonder... how did he do that, where did that light come from, launching an attack of that magnitude?!" The Kazekage was, to say the least, bewildered when he realized the boy didn't even have chakra, and the most terrifying thing was that he couldn't even feel any chakra.

"What will we do?!" The surviving ninjas beside him looked somewhat worried, especially now that the sound of Shukaku screaming loudly in the distance had returned, his eyes still somewhat injured.

"We must stop Shukaku, without the boy here, the beast will want revenge on the first people it sees." He said and glanced at Rosa.

"Go north... we should try to catch the boy... you saw he is dangerous... and as we've seen, if he had more power than he used, he wouldn't have fled... so he must be tired." The Kazekage spoke, after all, he now had to deal with the bijuu, continuing the order to ask for a new host for the creature in the village.

Thus, they began to separate at that moment, with the Kazekage leaving some ninjas to stop Shukaku and try to restrain him before he attempted to flee by diving into the desert sand. Two ninjas headed towards the village, while Rasa went north, passing by Shukaku who was still trying to see.

The Kazekage was right, Minato was flying through the sky, feeling his body exhausted as he continued walking through the air with geppo until he realized he could no longer continue and began to descend, falling in the middle of the desert.

Minato continued for a long time walking through the air heading north, passing by hundreds, if not thousands, of Suna soldiers going in the direction where he had been fighting Shukaku and the Kazekage.

"I have some time, but not much... it would be good to find a place to rest at least to recover my physical strength..." Minato murmured, looking ahead, but only sand could be seen.

It wasn't long before new ninjas appeared on the horizon, heading in his direction. Minato knew he had no choice but to fight his way to the border.

'I used too much stamina in that attack against the Kazekage, now I have to conserve energy, after all, I can't keep using Geppo for long.' Minato thought, and at that moment he began to kick the ground, moving forward with all his speed.

The ninjas, who had been advancing due to superior orders to regroup behind the invader, were in for a big surprise when someone suddenly appeared in front of them at high speed, kicking up sand with sheer brute force and hitting the first ninja, sending him flying backward, spitting saliva with a groan.

His companions quickly looked at the scene, surprised. "Who are you? We have the invader here!" they shouted immediately, shifting into combat mode.

Minato kicked the air again and rushed forward, kicking the ninjas, relying solely on taijutsu, taking another one by surprise and knocking him down before he could react.

The other two were already preparing: one grabbing a puppet and the other a giant fan. As they defended themselves, the puppet attacked, but Minato dodged the blow. The wind-element ninja began to move his giant weapon, causing a gust of wind to blast the sand away as he retreated further.

Minato pulled out some kunai from his pouch and threw them, causing them to explode near the ninjas, buying him time as he leaped away.

The explosion had alerted more ninjas in the area. At the blast site, ninjas appeared, looking at Minato with frustration. "Hey, don't let him escape!" one of them shouted, slightly injured. After all, they wouldn't be taken down by just paper bombs.

Meanwhile, a pursuit began with the other ninjas, who Minato had knocked down, also recovering and chasing the boy dressed in Suna attire as he advanced north. Minato simply clasped his hands in front of his chest, as if trying to absorb natural chakra, while continuing to run, trying to spin his chakra faster to regenerate more quickly, as he desperately needed it.

Other patrols began to appear from all sides, with users of earth, water, wind elements, and puppets with kunai being launched, while Minato kept advancing.

'This is bad... there are more and more of them around me...' Minato murmured as he saw the first four ninjas he had faced multiply into dozens of them.

He was pushing his body to the limit, but always keeping his chakra circulating within him as he held his position while the attacks came at full speed.

He used Observation Haki to try to dodge everything, surprising many of his attackers by zigzagging away from their strikes. He began to gather more chakra before turning towards them all and forming hand seals. In the next moment, he generated a flash of light, catching almost everyone by surprise and temporarily blinding dozens of ninjas who lost their sight.

When they regained their vision, Minato was no longer there, having continued north, still pursued by those unaffected by the light.

"..." Minato kept running, knowing that soon those dozens of ninjas would turn into hundreds, making things even worse for him. He realized that after a while, no more ninjas were appearing ahead of him. He found it strange, but he continued running, until suddenly he felt sand rise beneath his feet, wrapping around his legs and trapping him before his haki could react, perhaps due to his exhaustion from fighting so much.

"This..." he murmured, knowing very well who the owner of that golden sand was.

With no choice, he threw a kunai with his fuuinjutsu attached to it forward before disappearing and reappearing next to it, grabbing it and moving away from the sand, but losing all the chakra he had accumulated for that small teleport, with a slightly frustrated expression.

Maintaining that frustrated look, he glanced at the ninjas appearing in front of him as one of them stepped forward from the 80 ninjas gathered there, with hundreds more approaching.

"Rasa..." Minato commented.

"You're at your limit, boy. Just surrender," Rasa taunted, as Minato prepared his kunai.

Minato knew he had to keep running, but he also knew he was reaching his limit. He would have to kill Rasa there to get out of this country. It was a shame, because in Minato's opinion, Gaara would never be born.

So, Minato prepared to fight, but before the battle could begin, suddenly, people started appearing from the north, rushing at full speed toward the group.

Minato was surprised to see them and recognized them, jumping and beginning to throw several kunai toward the Suna group. Rasa quickly went into defense mode, after all, there were at least 30 kunai with explosive tags. A series of massive explosions erupted as he shielded the ninjas around him with his golden sand, looking seriously at the group.

Minato was a bit stunned as the people landed near him, and his gaze turned toward them.

"Well, you look like you're in terrible shape, kid..." Zelda's voice came from behind her mask.

Minato was still wearing his desert attire, with only his eyes visible, but he was clearly recognized by everyone there.

"You... What are you doing here?" Minato murmured, looking at his former squadmates. Alpha, Zelda, Horny, Echo, Blade, Ghost, Falcon, Whisper, Vortex, Mirage.

He was quite surprised, after all, he didn't believe Konoha would send a team to rescue him so quickly.

"Well, let's just say we found some orders to come here. We couldn't let our little mascot die like this, could we?" one of them said.

"Mascot? No, my student!" Ghost murmured, while the others laughed, not appearing to be in front of several enemies.

"Stop it! Minato, how are you?" Alpha, the leader of the group, asked, trying to restore order, as they were on a serious mission.

Minato sighed. "I have very little chakra left and I'm pretty exhausted. If I can recover a little and you give me some time, I can help you." Minato said.

Alpha nodded after that. "Great, you heard him, guys? Let's buy him some time and see if we can take down this Rasa. We can't run..." said Alpha, fully aware of the situation.

"Yeah, but he controls that damn gold..." Whisper commented, and everyone already knew this enemy, famous enough to stand out in the war and be someone very powerful in the future.

"Prepare for battle!" Alpha reminded once again.

Quickly, everyone saw Rasa start to move his hands as golden sand began to approach them. Minato moved back a little, watching other ninjas trying to surround the area.

The order was clear: "Eliminate him at all costs," Rasa exclaimed.

All members of the Phantom Squad began to fight. Minato knew he didn't have much time; after all, the squad was designed for infiltration missions and wasn't specialized in direct combat.

He stood aside, hands clasped again, observing the battle. Other ninjas managed to pass through the enemies; after all, it was 80 ninjas against 12, and they quickly became outnumbered. Minato started fighting using only his legs while trying to recover his chakra. This went on for a while, but no matter how hard they fought, they couldn't get past Rasa.

"Damn, this guy is tough to fight!" Horny murmured from the group.

"Hey, kid, how are you doing? We need your help here!" Vortex shouted.

Fifteen minutes had passed, and they were already exhausted just trying to stay on their feet while attempting to hold on for as long as possible.

"Give me a sword!" Minato nodded after taking down another ninja. Ghost tossed his sword, and Minato finally released his clasped hands, placing the hilt in his mouth.

He pulled out a special kunai from his pocket and leapt into the air, throwing it toward Rasa while using multi-shadow clones. Rasa quickly raised a wall of gold in front of him. The kunai struck the wall, but one particular kunai passed through a weak spot in the defense, flying through the air. Minato reappeared on top of it, grabbing it and hurling it downward in the next moment, catching Rasa by surprise. Rasa jumped back, slightly stunned, as his golden wall crumbled.

At that moment, everything seemed to happen in slow motion. With lightning speed, Minato appeared right in front of Rasa, grabbing Hatake's sword before throwing it, enveloped in light. In the next instant, Rasa felt a massive pain in his chest, and his body was violently thrown back, imitating an explosion across the desert in a straight line of light. The golden sand began to crumble as Minato advanced to finish him off.

"Commander Rasa!!" the Suna ninjas exclaimed.

They looked at Minato in their midst, who began advancing to strike back. Minato disappeared and reappeared among his allies, kneeling as his chakra, once again, reached its last drop.

"Hey, grab him! Let's get out of here!" Alpha exclaimed, and quickly one of them grabbed Minato and began moving.

"Hey, don't let him escape!" the Suna ninjas shouted, but now, with much less resistance, it was much easier to flee. Thus, the Phantom Squad advanced northward.
