Chapter 17: Thou shall make a way when a young master is passing by

Li Yun rushed rapidly to the Jade palace, he knocked down any obstacles on his path, he was using his starlight Qi that not only possessed destructive power but a great suppression effect to overwhelm any circumstances, he managed to reach the Jade palace in only several minutes.

When he arrived before the entrance, he found himself in a garden made in ancient style showing the cultured nature of the owner, he then went through the door and saw a corridor inside; as he prepared himself for the fight with the leader, he saw a silhouette flying heading his way at a fast speed, he felt a bit light headed and said:

"There must be cheating right, How can you be already here..?"

It was Feng Ling running from something, she looked at him and waved her hand as a greeting before storming outside. Li Yun didn't have the time so feel depressed, as a terrifying aura manifested from up ahead; a man wearing a gray robe with black strips walked slowly from here, but he seemed to disappear and reached the entrance in a flash.

Li Yun cursed at Feng Ling for using him as a scapegoat, he gritted his teeth and tried to make the first move as he swung Heaven Breakers forward, he didn't held anything back and smashed the man with all he got. The attack found target and a huge cavity appeared so the man's head, but Li Yun only felt a bad feeling seeing this, a blinding golden light spread from the man before a golden hand smashed forward.

'Crash' Li Yun was hit back outside and only managed to stop ten of meters in the air, he wasn't badly inured thanks to the Seven Star Robe. Feng Ling was floating not far from him holding her black spear ready for the fight, she then said:

"Look like we can only cooperate to overcome this opponent, are you fine with that 'fellow student' Li Yun?"

When did we become so close? I don't remember getting along with you. Li Yun showed annoyance but he could only accept her proposition:

"So be it 'fellow student' Feng Ling, it's not time to quibble among us."

He then looked ahead with increasing seriousness. The man was completely unscathed, and with this aura that felt that so suffocating, it made him confirme his guess before. He wanted to curse at the teachers outside, this was no longer something a Mortal Transcendent could deal with, this guy was a freaking Body spiritualisation expert! If this is a simple test, then they are thinking too highly of himself.

Li Yun stepped forward taking his role in this fight, he held Heaven Breakers before him in a defensive posture.

The man that came out of the palace didn't say anything and began his assault.

'Dang!' A palm strike with a golden rune slapped forward hitting Heaven Breakers, but there wasn't any shockwave like expected. The staff did its job, an Immortal weapon wouldn't be shaken up by such a trifling attack even if it as sealed, but it couldn't do more on its own if the user was a weak ass.

Li Yun didn't back down after the attack, he stood his ground. He circulated the Great Sun and Star mantra and summoned the starlight Qi in his dantian, he wanted to use it to restrict the man.

The silver starlight Qi surrounded the man giving the same oppression as before, but the difference in cultivation was quite large so it only managed to bind the man for a brief moment. But, it was enough.

The surrounding seemed to fall in the night for a moment, Feng Ling didn't hold back as her black spear full of black Qi that looked like it was made of the darkness the of the night itself was swung in a tyrannical momentum.

'Pu!' It hit squarely on the chest of the man making a gaping hole! But, there was no blood, they couldn't hope to beat him with just this.

Feng Ling directly leapt backward after the hit, but the man didn't pursue her, his body transformed into gold for a moment before the wound on his chest disappeared like it was never here. Such was the special state of Body spiritualisation cultivator, they transformed their body gradually into their Special Qi depending on their affinity. Thankfully he was only in the first rank, making so that he wouldn't be able to use such a cheat ability so frequently.

The fight then feel into the same circle, they tried to restrict the man before dealing a blow full of their special Qi to grind him down. They had some close call from time to time, Feng Ling seemed like she would get caught after the man counter attacked with a great wave of Gold Qi blades spreading around, but she always managed to pull a miraculous feat, escaping in the last moment.

Li Yun on his part continued to hold the guy down showing his great resilience, he also suffered greatly as the guy took him as the first target but managed to get by somehow. Thing wouldn't be so easy in reality though, it was only because the action of the man was predictable and he didn't use any dharmic spells that they managed to have the upper hand like this. His affinity being gold reducing his speed improvement also made it easier to deal with him. But, he was a though nuts to crack, Li Yun already used up several recovery pills and began to worry about drug addiction if this continue.

The fight drew it's curtain when the man couldn't transform anymore, Li Yun took the opportunity to vent his frustration. He suffered the most as the one who tanked the attacks.

'Bang' Heaven Breakers shined with Starlight Qi before smashing down the guy on the ground tyrannicaly, this time he didn't stand up.

Li Yun and Feng Ling sighed in relief after that, they didn't have the time to say anything before they were then sent out of the Dome, it was the end of the test of the new freshmen.

Outside of the Dome it was quite lively, the students were talking among themselves about the test, some were venting their disappointment while other were sighing in relief, most of them didn't register when Li Yun and Feng Ling walked out of the Dome; but when the teachers led by Luo Hua went to the two of them, they all looked over with pleasantly surprised face and gave an applause.

Li Yun felt strange about this, shouldn't they act more shocked and awed by the Great feat he just achieved, why were they welcoming him like he just made some performance?

They couldn't be blamed for this though, these two guys have been doing incredible thing shocking them time and time again; but after a while, the sense of shock diminished...They couldn't act shocked and surprised all the time right? Doing that is more tiring than you may think…

The teachers then gave the two of them praises and encouragement to continue striving forward and not be complacent about their achievements, it was the same old speech that you heard since elementary school.

Li Yun felt a feeling of awkwardness, look like he wasn't as awesome as he thought, should he have smashed the whole artifact to gain their reconnaissance then? No, destroying public facilities will only get condemned…

The teacher then comforted those that did badly and were disheartened, while giving encouragement and praise to those who did well. The result will be published in a week, but everyone already knew which of them will stand at the top.

Wen Bao then approached Li Yun, the fatty felt a small sense of estrangement for a while but he wouldn't give up on his friend for just this much, he was a loyal fatty. He then said in admiration:

"You are really ridiculously strong brother Li Yun, your strength must have overshadowed any new student in the history of the Great Dao Academy of Prodigies."

Li Yun finally felt a bit comforted in his heart, look like he didn't chose the wrong person to befriend in the end, Wen Bao was a true brother. he was about to say something to show humility.

When Wen Bao said with a bit of hesitation:

"It's just that your weapon… Using a children's toy to fight was a bit too much I think…"

Li Yun looked at him with an indescribable expression, showing how difficult it was to understand his words. Children's toy? What was that.

Seeing his look, it dawned on Wen Bao that that weapon must have been customized for him and made with great material and forging becoming a great artifact, he must have not known the true nature of this weapon. He then looked left and right to see if someone was listening to them before taking a silver staff identical to Heaven Breakers from his spacial pouch and said whisperingly:

"It's my copy of the Immortal weapon Heaven Breakers, I stopped using it when I was fourteen. You may not know it but this is quite popular for children that dreamt of being like the first Immortal Yang Shu, the greatest pride of our continent. It's not as high end as yours though."

He then took it back in his pouch, a bittersweet memory of his younger days…

Li Yun didn't say anything yet when he heard a small laugh coming from beside him; he turned and looked at Feng Ling who was holding her mouth ungraciously with a death stare. He then walked forward calmly with steady steps not showing any discomfort, it was time leave this place and get Liu Guan to lead him to his residence, since the teachers said that they could leave. He wouldn't lower his head or bow down to fate no matter the circumstances, such was the pride and arrogance, the unyielding nature of this young heroe...

After the students left the Dome to go in their respective residence, teacher Luo Hua finally sighed in relief, look like everything was made without any hiccup, she then looked at a young female teacher that only began to work here two years ago and said seriously:

"We have to thank you teacher Ye XiaoXiao, if it wasn't for your timely advice to rise the leader's cultivation to the Body spiritualisation realm, it wouldn't have gone so well."

Teacher Ye XiaoXiao was feeling happy inside, it was always a good thing to be well regarded by your direct superior, she then said in humility:

"What I put up was only an advice, the one who made it possible is still you teacher Luo Hua."

Teacher Luo Hua just nodded after hearing that, the other responsible were very reticent about the proposal. They thought that it was too ridiculous even as a joke to let some youngsters deal with a cultivator a realm above then even though they were supreme genius and the opponent would be nerfed greatly, but she insisted vehemently and in the end it was accepted. From the results now they could be said to have done a good job.

She then turned to the other teachers still working on the MEG to collect the data to send to the the researchers, and said:

"Thank you for your hard work everyone, I will invite you all to the Hundred blossom restaurant later for a Spirit wine, it will be on me so don't worry."

The other teacher cheered, it was gratifying to get some reward after their hard work, even more so since they managed to deal with this disaster so perfectly.

Li Yun regrouped with Liu Guan not far from the Dome, he was waiting here with the car to bring him to their residences, but he felt quite surprised when he saw the young master with a dark face he was also accompanied by Wen Bao and a young lady that he didn't know.

'Look like some bad thing happened, I shouldn't poke the hornets' nest for now.' Liu Guan thought to himself before opening the car's door as Li Yun entered in the back seat followed by Wen Bao and...Feng Ling. As for why she was with them, it was to take a free ride since she was going the same way, she heard Li Yun talk with Wen Bao that they were going to the East side residence area. It is not right to listen to other people's discussion…

Li Yun then told Liu Guan to bring them to the residence quickly , he wanted to relax for a while after all of that, visiting the city would come after he get in a better mood.

The car sped into the distance reaching the the Eastern residence area, they dropped Wen Bao who was living in the general area he promised to visit him later after arranging his own living space.

Li Yun then found himself alone with Feng on the backseat, but they kept silent as the car went further in the special area, Li Yun's residence was just up ahead so he turned to look at her to ask where she should be dropped when Feng Ling said:

"You can drop me here, thank you for theyour ride." She then walked out of the car and went in the large luxurious courtyard to the side…just beside Li Yun's courtyard.

The young man was feeling a bit stifled, he was about to say something seeing her enter the residence nonchalantly, when Liu Guan interrupted him saying in a hurry:

"Young master, there are some people standing before the door of your courtyard, they seems to be waiting for you-"

WHAT?! THEY WERE COURTING DEATH! Did they take him for a sick cat since HE the Tiger, didn't show his might?!

Li Yun walked up to these troublemakers in great strides while fuming inside.

"Make a way for this young master, if not roll to the side!"

Every people have their breaking point…
